There's a thread about FRPgames already, but I thought I'd specifically point out that they have the Paradiso campaign book on sale not just for for $41.99 USD, but they also have their end of the world sale for another 50% off through the end of the week, making the book $21 plus shipping. Just ordered one myself and they have 7 more listed at that price at the time of this posting, good opportunity to pick up the newest book on the cheap if you haven't already

When I initially checked they had all of 5 or 6 Infinity items in that sale...
More importantly, isn't today supposed to be Show Us December's Releases Day?!?

Some of the Spanish forum visiters mentioned it will probably be delayed until boxing day due to a lack of time. Looking forward to seeing the Makaul boxset as I've just picked up all the Tohaa. I'll almost certainly be picking them up along wiht the Sekban.

Those Riot Grrls look awful. Like, I expected them to be bad...but that is a step worse. The only positive thing I can say about them is that they have properly scaled guns.
The Makaul and Phoenix look good though. Interesting that Phoenix is the December release, since he was supposed to be pushed back to January for Diomedes to be the December release.

I agree, not a fan at all of the riot grrls, but they match the style of the first one. They also match the fluff of the eccentric Bakuinin punk girls in heavy armor. Win some, lose some lol.
The other releases however look great.

Wow... absolutely outstanding.
Riot Grrlls; not a fan of the colour scheme, but just love the anime-style sculpt. Is one of them flipping the bird? Might be cool to give each of them a different, bright colour scheme and some logo-branding to keep with their character.
Raicho: Absolute badass, not sure what else I can say about it really! The model looks scary (imagining this thing stomping round the corner towards your line infantry!), exactly as it should do, and that's before you've seen the stat-line!
Sekban: Lovely, understated pose (shows not everything has to be screaming with both arms at 90 degrees!) Someone said before that he's walking cool-ly away from an explosion, which I think fits pretty well!
Phoenix - nice, more 'human' looking Aleph sculpt for those who like that conception of things. The details on his pouches/bandoliers, and just the self-assured 'walk' he is doing makes this actually my 'dark horse' favourite sculpt of the month!
Hospitaller - As has been said, not a massive fan of the pose. Although as Hearts Serenda said (I think?) will definitely look better with a john-woo style 2nd gun in place of that sword.
Makaul - Haven't looked at their rules, but they are some kind of shock-troops right? The posing and stance of these guys is absolutely full of aggression, with almost a martial-artist esq style to them? Really like them and again a stunning level of detail.
So overall top marks for this month, and the Sekban has got me excited about what their boxset might look like!

And you know, that is actually another thing bugging me about the Riot Grrls.
They're supposed to be "eccentric punks" right? So why in the hell are they all wearing the same armor?! Why is the only difference in two with ridiculous hats?
Those Makaul are seriously tempting me to buy a Tohaa force with the money I get from housesitting over the holidays...

Yeah, not a fan of the design of the Riot Grrls to start with and these dont fix that with cool poses.
Are these by the same sculptor as the spitfire Riot Grrrl? They seem more stiff and awkward.
Makaul look very cool. Sekban still looks great, will be picking him up ASAP, especially now that I'm on a "painted one model in the last six months" roll.

An interesting month...
Raicho - a must buy!
Sekban - nice miniature - into the cart it goes!
Phoenix - the same!
Riot Grrls - I've got to admit, they're a bit of a letdown. Not sure I'll be picking them up...
Makaul - Nice, but still not enough to convince me to start a Tohaa army.
Knight Hospitaller - OK, but again, not enough to me me want to jump in feet first on a Knight based force.
Now, if Neal could please hurry up and get these listed on the Warstore!

If they had just extended the leg armor style over the whole body instead of the raw muscle undersuit thing there would be a lot more options to make them unique and individual. That goes back to my Tank Girl/ Akira's Bike expectations, which might be unfair.
Ditto on the Tohaa suddenly being more appealing. A few more releases like these and they might become my second faction.

To be blunt, I think that " raw muscle undersuit" look would have worked if they had used it for just the one model and then done a bit of individualization on the others. They clearly tried with the Boarding Shotgun/MULTI Rifle Riot Grrls by making it so you see their faces and they each have some kind of "unique" bit for their helmets.
Ditto on the Tohaa suddenly being more appealing. A few more releases like these and they might become my second faction.
The good news is we're basically guaranteed Tohaa and Steel Phalanx releases for a bit yet with the Nomads, Combined Army, Ariadna, PanOceania, Yu Jing, and Haqqislam/Mercenaries being the ones up for "getting benched" for a release slot since Steel Phalanx and Tohaa need to get bulked out for Campaign: Paradiso.

Ill be the one really liking them then, that been said I am not terribly thrilled with the ponytail's head ornament and the knife.
The Hospitaler is sadly the weakest of the releases, nice sculpt not thrilled with the pose, a bit disappointed with Phoenix having a sword, although I should be expecting it, I would rather had him pointing the next unfortunate receiver with his finger.
Overall another great month of releases.

I really think that those Tohaa Makauls look much better than the Starter pack. Maybe this box is the one I'll buy.
Infinity elves, that are more like Asari from Mass Effect... wich are also some kind of Elves, you know... like the Eldar... or like the ones from Hellboy 2...

I think the Grrrls could work with more punk-y colors, like predominant black with pink accents. I kinda want one box just to get the hand flipping the bird and transplant it to my Odalisque.

The Riot Grrls are genuinely bad, maybe the first bad Infinity Sculpt. For me it's the armor nipples that ruins them. I could understand if one Grrl decided to mold them on her armor as some kind of punk thing, but everyone? Nope, sorry, swing and a miss.
Apart from the Hospitaller pose (that we discussed earlier) being a little bad (not ruining the model, but not up to the usual Infinity standard) it's a solid batch. The Raicho is making it hard to resist starting a Morat force.

Well the armor part is because they are a still a unit, so they have standardized armor that was developed for them. That is a bit like asking why Swat wears the same armor, it's the most protective for their role. I'd say the character of the unit could easily be flaunted with a different paint job.

That's not "armor" they're wearing though. That's their undersuit.
It's like if SWAT went to work wearing just their uniform with some shoulderpads, kneepads, combat boots, and helmets on. Why leave the torso so unprotected?
The real ridiculous part is they have a really heavily armored rear torso...but not the part facing the enemy? What are they doing, walking at the enemy backwards? Constantly running away?
It's silly trying to justify the lack of torso armor on them. Especially for a unit which is supposed to be so heavily invested in the idea of "individualism".

I would have preferred the Riot Grrls to have salvaged armor from other units assembled together in a rather competent manner. Perhaps even some Myrmidon or Posthuman parts as a recent trophy.
Part of the punk culture is a DIY philosophy, and that would have fit the Nomads that well.

There is individualism and there is who pays for the armour and it is not them.
They are wearing the muscle suit that all powered armoured troops wear under the plating and the "armoured nipples" are nothing more than the fibermuscle attachment points, I don't get why the same attachment points in the hips do not raise similar reaction.
Now why the torso is bare, who knows maybe for hyperdynamics, maybe not.

"Who pays for the armour" is not really relevant, since the Riot Grrls are equipped by "the best of the female blacksmiths of the Vulkanja Module".
The ones in the hips do raise a similar reaction, but with proper torso armor associated with the armor on the back of the torso the "fibermuscle attachment points"(which I'd love to see a source on this one, since it's super convenient that they just so happen to look like nipples and genitalia) would not be an issue as they would be covered up.

Have to agree - some Torso armor would have been nice AND allowed for some more space for painting customization.
This box set is a bit of a letdown for me, and while I was really looking forward to this set, I'll probably give it a pass now.

The butt armor is a seperate piece and rather thin, so easy to bend. I'm thinking that if you turn it upside down and wrap it around the stomach you can then bend the points to curve up under the bust and cover the nips.
Already assembled my spitfire model and really don't mind the nipple armor.
