There was a list a few pages ago; Chaksas box was on there, along with Penthesilea and some other things.

Geckos and Iguanas?!?

(That's my new one, in case anyone was wondering!)

(Which I'm sure they're not!)

Geckos were not even at the concept stage as of January.

Iguanas seem to be ignored since they're Corregidor and not Bakunin.

Here's the list that Dheneb mentioned:

List from Infinity O-12
March and April:
- ALEPH Penthesilea
- Tohaa Chaksas x 4
- Nomad Moiras x 4
- Shasvastii Haiduk
- PanO Support Box

If I had to hazard an actual guess though?

Penthesilea, Chaksas, and Haiduk in March.
Moiras and PanO Support Box in April.

There are of course likely a few more releases in there that we do not have yet, or they'll lump them all in the same month. I can never tell with Corvus Belli as their release schedule seems to be based upon a D100.

Machinist
Trauma Doctor
1 of each kind of PalBot.

Most likely, the Doctor or Machinist would be a new sculpt while the other is a resculpt.
Or both could be new sculpts.

Does the trauma doc really need a resculpt though? It's old, but it's still not a bad fig.

Does it matter if it "needs" a resculpt?
They're wasting resculpt time on Reverend Moiras and Wulver Grenadiers.

They might as well resculpt more of the crummy sculpts while they are at it.

Not sure how anybody can say anything really bad about Pentithesia's sculpt. Except the midrift, I suppose. But you could always paint that as an underlayer body suit.

Rev Moiras definitely need a resculpt. Their existing ones are BADLY our of proportion, especially that absurd HMG.

The mono bike is just a bit dorky to me.

There is a really funny cartoon sketch about the pose of the one Kum biker (by that Spanish chap, see if I can find it.. )

The mono-wheel bike has been used a few times in Manga movies, not sure if that is why they went for that design before. I kind of like them although I guess they are starting to look a little out of sync with some of the newer releases.

I personally hate the Kum bikers (and the Haqq TAG, but that is another issue). They just look dorky, like something that you'd get in a Happy Meal. Compared with the sleek & dangerous look that I love in stuff like the Odalisques or Druze, or out of faction models like the Aragato, they are just hard to take seriously.

Space Marine bikes look better, and that is saying something.

I like the fact that she has her throttle hand on the bike and the weapon in her left hand. Really hard in real life to use your right hand for a weapon (or anything else) and make the bike go....

Very cool figure.

Druze are out of faction as well. They have ties to Haqqislam as a religion, but they're strictly mercenary forces from another society altogether. You would have been better off comparing them to Hassassins

What he probably meant is that Druze are part of Qapu Khalqi, like Kaplan or Cordelia and Scarface, and can be therefore considered part of Haqqislam.

They do a number of models with bare midriff that can be "sexed down" by not painting it in bare skin colour.

To putty over it would be more trouble but might achieve a good result by texturing a flexible armour.

Just painting it as a jumpsuit has worked well in my case. Just don't thin the paint as much so it gives a slightly thicker texture. If you want to make sure and use greenstuff, just adding a bit of piping or trim can go a loong way to turn mirdiff into actual uniform sections.

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.

In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos.

The problem is that "a number of models with bare midriff" also have uniform pants on rather than skintight bodygloves.

It ends up looking silly.

Not really - people do the 'layers' thing now, surely they'll be doing it in.... The Future!

Think of it as an Under Armor kind of thing.

Now... back to speculating about March, and Geckos and Iguanas!

Why are people having such a hook in their craw about a bit of exposed skin? It suits the model, and it's not like she's got some itty bitty titty showing, or the crack of her arse

Haha yes, something often neglected by designers - this one at least looks like it might at least be a feasible future design, unlike Judge Dredd or a Space Marine bike, that have wheels so wide and such a long wheel base that to do anything than ride in a straight line with them must be practically impossible

Awesome that motorbikes/motorbike sports are so big in Spain though, means that this game has loads of models for them

I think that, strangely enough, it comes down to Bakunin vs. Corregidor - even though she's Aleph!

I think that is almost exactly what the problem is.

Look at all the Steel Phalanx models. There are no less than three females(Myrmidon Officer, Myrmidon Hacker, and one of the Thorakitai), and not a single one has the whole "woo check my bare midriff out!".
There's only one female model (the Myrmidon Hacker) who looks vaguely silly and that is simply from the ridiculously bad pose they gave her (which would be dumb even on a male character).

They've kept a fairly "professional" look with the Steel Phalanx, blending a bit of Hellenic Greek influence (the helmet crests, the design of the helmets and armor plates) with a more futuristic infantry look.

And then comes Penthesilea, throwing that all out the window.
It's just like the stupid Wildcat with HRL to be honest. It takes elements of the existing theme and then goes in a direction that makes no sense.

The models themselves look fine. They're nice sculpts.

But they just don't fit with the rest of the line. It's a thematic difference that drives someone like myself absolutely bonkers.

You are overreacting, any piece of skin seems that the mini is showing her boobs or something. Give them a break.

I love how you ignored the complete rest of the post and focused in on a misguided notion that it is simply the exposed skin that I'm complaining about.

With some factions it seems that Corvus Belli cannot pick a design aesthetic and stick with it. The Wildcat with HRL and Penthesilea are perfect examples of this, contrasting rather vividly with the rest of the Sectorial they are within.

But... maybe these stylistic differences just represent individuals expressing their... individuality?

A stretch for Aleph, sure, but not for Nomads!

I am puzzled on the female thorakitai, beyond that Penthesilea is not a "steel phalanx" she is homeriade, something from legend and larger than life, sure her Ikohl works even when she is fully clothed, but the audience wants to see the sexy lady of the legends and the assault subsection IS as much a propaganda machine as is a honest fighting unit.

It makes sense, in a way. Aside from Ajax the Smashface-Insane, Penthesilea is the only other model in all of Aleph that is impetuous. She IS an individual.

Plus, she's based on the Amazonian warrior that mercenarily joined the Trojans to prove something about her people. She ham-fistedly challenged Achilles to a fight (spoiler: she lost).

She is the only motorcycle in Aleph and the Steel Phalanx. She is the only one to employ monofilament weapons and i-Kohl. She also has the least armor of anyone in the entire Steel Phalanx including the typical grunts like Myrmidons, Ekdromoi, and Thorakitai.
She IS an individual.

I think I didn't ignore or misunderstood what you said, buy maybe. You reach the conclusion that Penthesilea breaks the homogeneity of the range, because of the skin. I think she fits just fine. But it seems that the minimum amount or insinuation of skin in a CB model is a reason to complain. And the funniest thing is that I only read this complains from male gamers. Okay.

It is an aesthetic choice by the designer. You can amend it by paint and putty if you want, or just avoid those models. I won't buy the Pan-Oceania models because I think the backwards curving magazines look silly.

It will never happen that all figures will suit one's own personal preferences. Fortunately the range includes enough models that any army can assemble a good force without the need for bare midriff girlies.

There's also the fact that with other Aleph troops too (Asura, Deva, etc), their skin IS armor. They are not human and do not have actual skin. They look human but they might as well be very sophisticated androids.

Penthesilea has the lowest armor in the entire Steel Phalanx list (1). Everyone else has ARM 2 or higher. Simple as that. She can run around with her midriff all bare.
