I don't understand the need for those support boxes. If they are all existing sculpts, do they offer a discount over piecemeal purchases? I'm asking because I'm aware of another comapny which doesn't.
And I know it's only the colours, but I find it funny that at first glance, the Scot Guard has a burberry scarf. Very fashionable.

Great new releases!
To be more precise:
Volunteer - decent but not too impressive
Penthesilea - as an Aleph player I'd buy it even if it wasn't as nice as it is (don't dig the sword style, but petty complaints aside, it's a lovely model)
Caliban - Holy moly, that was a surprise! They managed to make it be easily recognizable as a Shasvaasti troop, but still gave it a nice twist and a fresh and distinct look. One of the best miniatures in the sectorial. Now give me the box!
Moiras - Sooooo much better than the old ones! The proportions are an incredible improvement, that's the most important part. If one doesn't like the pointless nudity (which I prefer on actual women and not miniatures) then just don't paint it in skin color and this (down-)side of the sculpt will hardly show anymore. If the whole concept is not exactly to one's liking (like mine), just stay clear of them alltogether. It wasn't to be expected that they'd change the whole concept of a unit, when even the horribly sculpted first iteration somehow sold.
Scotsguard - So cool! This one has to somehow go into one of my Necromunda projects so that I can justify to buy one without starting Ariadna or ending up never painting it, because there are so many more important projects. Automatically Appended Next Post: Mathieu Raymond wrote:I don't understand the need for those support boxes. If they are all existing sculpts, do they offer a discount over piecemeal purchases? At least in the case of the Aleph support box it was a definite discount and the new composition finally made it possible to get what every Aleph player needs without having to buy a spare Yudbot. It still made me mad that I had bought all the models seperately, but alas at least it's good for new players.

The purpose is twofold, it reduces the SKU and that is something retailers love and makes the product cheaper.

Personally the only thing I do not like is the calibans sword and that is because it comes with an attached head.
Also a really nice digital colour change done in the Infinity forum (not by me) for those that do not like much exposed skin
That does look better with the thighs covered up....

No, I'm looking into generic CA with mostly Exrah. The only Shasvastii in it is a Speculo Killer, and I'm using the Med Tech for my Engineer.

Hmm... Those Morias just don't do it for me, kinda awkward... Almost cartoony, and have a posing for the camera look. Too bad too, kinda wanted to replace my old Moria HMG model, but I just don't think this is a step up...

Bostria has specified in the Spanish forums that the Scots Guard belongs to the 2nd Battalion, hence the poncho/cloak. (fact)
So they will probably release different miniatures for the 1st, or miniatures with options. (my guess)

Us the 'Post Reply' button instead of the Quick Reply box (is that is what you are using), and the ![]() tags (using [ not < ) and the webpage address that ends .jpg
Or to make it simpler, just hit 'Quote' on someone who has posted a pic and see what thay have done (when you quote it automatically opens their post and shows you the coding involved in what they do
hope that helps....

Oh I know bakunin quite well, I'll stick a moria in a list quite often but idk maybe it's the paintjob, maybe it's the pigeon toed models, maybe its the fact that I always imagined morias as looking more unique from each other (like the current models) that from the simple fact it's a box set makes them look kinda similar. (goes and re looks at models) On second view the sniper one looks alright, and maybe I can put together something else I like from the rest of the components in the kit so I might not totally pass on the box but I'm in no rush.
Also too cartoony might not have been the best word, but I can't really find the right word.

Had to have a think about the new releases. Well, the Moiras. I liked everything else straight off. The Moiras looked flat and unrealistic at first, and I mean in comparison to the current Bakunin range.
They have grown on me now. I'm not ecstatic but the new guns are brilliant and I'm seeing more details every time I have a look. I won't be rushing out for some but I'd be very happy to use them if I needed them.
All in all, bit of a wobbly one in my opinion but solid enough.

I haven't heard anything about that, but I agree with you, the Charontid could use a resculpt. The general shape is all right, but the model hasn't aged nicely. More detail, dinamism and a new painjob could make a much better looking mini.

The HMG version is different from the plasma version. It can probably be used for either. I think it's the better of the two.

Maybe, but lets be honest CB departed from the direction of the original sculpts and models of that era look bad in comparison to the intermediate and new era sculpts.
The old Charontid does not look good next to the new one even with a better painttheme.

This is a Charontid for anyone who can't remember what model it is immediately:
I think he still looks kind of cool (I've actually got one of these in my slow painting production line!) but I agree, if they approached this mini again I'm sure they could do something special with it.
Also, hasn't this guy got that awesome item that can take control of other minis on the tabletop? Sequestor or something?

I was looking at the figure again and I still like it a lot. It's just a bit more streamlined than the HMG one. I think it's even still up to standards. It's just a matter of taste.
For those that want to discuss good/bad models I'm going to make a thread in the Infinity section.
