Essentially that's what it is and what defines the hacker, maybe the models holding it are doing something more complex than the gestures interface allows, or are using it to interface with a panel.

Would you want a big glowy interface in the air next to you while you go sneaking around or a palm device to smartphone your way into a T.A.G.?

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

I've always imagined it as being perhaps what the hacker is seeing themselves through their own visual GUI - perhaps through their helmet or some kind of optical implant, rather than being some massive shimmering thing (no doubt with sound effects) floating in the air next to them.

Also, it looks cool

That leads to the question of 'why the hell is that airdropping Hassassin Ragik using a hacking device that obscures his eyes when logic dictates he'd be using something he could, potentially, mount on his wrist'.

It's a visual design they went for with hackers, and stuck with until now. I've got nothing against the new smartphone devices other than, well, it makes the guys with helmet and glove interfaces make much less sense, as you pointed out, and look rather goofy next to the new guys using their new stuff.

I do not think it looks goofy, out of everyday life probably, but in the future it will probably be quite normal, a virtual interface is nothing out of the ordinary and has many practical uses especially when space is not available or practical.

Something to bear in mind with these hackers and their interface hardware is that the Nomads are one of the high tech factions and the Haqqislam are relatively low tech. From that, it makes sense that a Nomad hacker might have a distributed hardware system built into their clothes, while Haqquislam might have a smartphone thingy like this guy has got.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Even with a faction v. faction comparison, there's still going to be a difference.

Like a Tunguska Interventor or a Bakunin Zero/Reverend Custodier is going to have better hacking gear than a Corregidor hacker.

Impossible! That would mean Nomads would actually get a decent starter pack

On a serious note it would be a good intro to the strengths of Nomads (stealth and tech).

On hackers: at least if the model with the handheld hacking device you can make 'beep boop' noises when they're making their WIP rolls

This just came up on Facebook.

Something I forgot to mention in regards to the Corregidor starter box:
Current information has it being 50/50 for male and female models. Two of the Wildcats and the Intruder are male while a Wildcat, the Hellcat with Combi Rifle, and the Alguacile Hacker are female.

I'm hoping they make the female Wildcat not craptastic this time around.

The Alguaciles could certainly use an update - looking forward to this one!

Alguaciles are reputed to be updated relatively "soon" with a boxed set.

The Hacker will, hopefully, be a sneak peek at the updated look.

The information about the Coeridor box is fantastic, Gencon info is great too.

I'm still trying to decide between Adepticon of Gencon for 2014...

I'm beginning to lean towards Gencon for a couple of reasons, but if CB will again 'officially' be there in '14, well...

Nice! An increased GenCon presence is just what they need.

Also, for people who've seen 'Hank Scorpio's statline... goddamn, Authorized Bounty Hunters are incredible. They're WIP13, BTS-3 Fusiliers who are irregular. But that Booty 2 table!

+3 Armor? ODD? MOTORCYCLE?! All for 14 points.

Irregulars, that's a downside all by itself.

As someone who uses Sforza a lot, one Irregular isn't that bad. The "cost" of Irregulars goes up as they occupy more of your pool. Of course in 2-combat-group lists, the opportunity cost of that order goes down a lot. Bounty Hunters will be ace in Ariadna and Japanese lists.

14 points... that does seem a bit low for all that potential, even if you count the opportunity costs in a 10-man force. I'll have one in most forces.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

May Infinity releases:
Chaksa Auxiliars, Scots Guard with Missile Launcher, Domaru Takeshi "Neko" Oyama, Kirpal Singh, and the Haqqislam Support Pack are all now available for preorder at The Warstore.

DAMN those Chaksa look good. CB are getting way, way better at doing aliens.

Now if they would only redesign the Exrah, we'd have some serious buggy goodness.

BTW, while this Dakkaite is way too busy to start an online campaign to get the mercenary space-raoches redone (a la "Wulver Girl Now!"), I would sure as hell support and spread it.

Yeah...let's not bother with that garbage here, shall we?

It's already been debunked for all intents and purposes that the image used to support the argument (of the Knight Santiago) is a man, not a woman.
We still don't have enough information regarding the Military Orders to justify or preclude female knights. If Corvus Belli wants to do them or does not want to do them--they'll do as they damned well please. We don't need another obnoxious "campaign" like the Female Wulvers one.

I think you are not getting it.

Barring one illustration that people may see it one way or another, I mean the Hospitalers casevac, all knights have been male, what the, admittedly less constantly demanding, FKN movement asks is for female knights to exist, not a female order, just female models of regular knights.

Nothing more nothing less and no connection to how thin is the Santiago.
