What I like is how familiar and alien his pose is at the same time.

I think the most anticipated and big hit with everyone this month will be the Corregidor Box set. Even I'm looking forward to it and I don't play Nomads lol

That remains to be seen.

I know myself (and quite a few other people) are going to be VERY annoyed if they add more cheesecake styled Corregidor model.

The Corregidor range was free of it, barring Carlotta, the Wildcat with HRL, and the Daktari. This boxed set has the chance to completely ruin the aesthetic and make Corregidor just another Bakunin.

Well, Infinity is heavily aesthetically influenced by anime, so cheesecake is to be expected.

Time will tell, I disagree that the HLR is cheesecake though.

Sure, but it wasn't present in Corregidor.

Traditionally there's been a "cheesecake heavy" Sectorial, then a "professional" Sectorial with very little in the way of cheesecake.
A great example of this is Ariadna. The Scots were heavy on the cheesecake while the Merovingians were not, barring a few godawful examples (I'm looking at you Chasseur with ADHL).

PsychoticStorm wrote:Time will tell, I disagree that the HLR is cheesecake though.

Disagree all you want; it does not change the fact that she is.
She has all the hallmarks of a "cheesecake model" from Corvus Belli.
The utterly ridiculous pose which might as well be straight from a pin-up poster in a Wildcat bunk of his girlfriend dressing up in his gear and the utterly impractical and completely, wildly divergent from the main aesthetic "cyberponytail" which serves no purpose but to exaggerate her femininity.

Motyak wrote:I have to ask...cheesecake?

Wikipedia wrote:A pin-up girl, also known as a pin-up model or cheesecake, is a model whose mass-produced pictures see wide appeal as popular culture. Pin-ups are intended for informal display, e.g. meant to be "pinned-up" on a wall. Pin-up girls may be glamour models, fashion models, or actresses.

That's not necessarily the case with Infinity models; but it's the "best fit" terminology for such a thing. It is commonly used by myself and others to describe a model which has an overtly ridiculous pose that serves no purpose but to make you say "Oh, that's a girl model."

With the 'quite a few others' most likely being Kan saying "Me, myself and I"!

Which scots are heavy on the cheesecake? The female volunteer model? I can't think of any others, maybe Uxia's second sculpt (the 25 pt one), but the version of her with the MSV1 couldn't really be called cheesecake.

edit: and the dozer model with the rpg-esque weapon, although I don't know if that is a scots only model or not

The Dozer model is shared between all the Ariadnan factions, so she really does not count for any one particular faction.

In regards to the Scots stuff which is heavy on the cheesecake? You've got the original Uxia McNeill--who, no joke, has a thong line showing for no apparent reason--and the Caledonian Volunteer with her pose which several people have actually transposed onto postcards.

Ariadna is the faction which immediately sprang to mind as I have a beef with that godawful Dozer, the Chasseur, old Uxia, and the Caledonian, but for the most part their ranges are free of cheesecake. I'm still waking up so I could have done better by saying "Look at Bakunin for examples of cheesecake" and called it a day.

I rant because I care. How often do you see me on a rant in a 40k thread anymore?

The Dozer is not god awful, take that back the gear is great and the scull Angel painted in his bandanna is just perfect.

Oh you mean the ADHL, well I am not sure if they are from the same unit :p

Joking aside, the most models are not cheesecake, they are fan service at best and that stretches it.

Now HRL wildcat is not fan service or cheesecake and if you really have issue with the hair, why put them on?

While no new releases were shown today, CB will attend an event this weekend and the organizer (the Spanish distributor) confirmed there will be previews on the event.

Hopefully we will get lots of pics from there.

Looks great from what I can see.. !

Think all of those knights actually look pretty awesome.. one of these days will have to learn how to paint NMMs for them.

What's this show that is going on in Spain this weekend then? Is anyone following it, and aware of any new titbits?

Bandua.

I'm really irked that they could not be bothered to show the Corregidor starter box at this event.
Sure, show a stupid Knight.
Show stupid Diomedes.

But no boxed set?
It's like they're taking a page from Marketing: Games Workshop style. Show the crap; hide the good stuff.

Kan, you sound incredibly petulant..

Glad that the train is coming along, think a lot of people have been waiting for that model (although being MAS I'm sure it won't be small change, price wise.. )

Petulant? Sure.

I'm personally becoming quite disheartened with Corvus Belli. Their distribution system is poor, they are parceling out "sneak previews" to every blog out there who comes running their way and has an established base, and they do just as poor of a job with "release previews" as Games Workshop.

The only difference is that while GW's releases come out the next week; it ends up being a bloody month(or more for boxed sets!) for any of the releases to hit the store near me or for The Warstore/Empchild to get things in stock.

And then the wait starts anew until something I actually would be interesting in buying comes out because inevitably, Corvus Belli doesn't think that "themed" monthly releases (i.e. one faction gets a month, another gets another, etc) is something players would like.
