Yes, that's the page with the latest stuff to come/future releases. Is that what you mean.... ? Sorry I'm confused

I am quite interested on the not so obvious white blob above Jotumn.

Wow.. well spotted, I hadn't noticed that! He does like messing with us though it seems, remember things like the 'tentacle monsters' ?

Kind of. Generally what he does is make huge extraneous blobs to mess up the profile of whatever he has blobbed out.
He also covers up concept art that has not been released or things he is doing for another company/client.

The Space Marine in the background is the "clenched fist, bolter raised" model which was (if I remember correctly) a webstore exclusive/bonus.
Angel posted a step by step of it not long ago with the following statement:
I am painting this space marine in my free time for a friend
I will sell it and so I finance his new short film
I think that he will be a great director in the future

Ah that's pretty cool, an easy proxy for Uxia Mcneill if you're that way inclined. I thought that they'd be released in packs of two however, these dire foes? Does this mean I've been slow and failed to notice an earlier reveal or something?

I think they are just making the previews individually. If you ask me, my guess is that the censored miniature in the TAG collection pic of the previous page is the female Japanese Spec-Ops (Yuriko Oda? Something like that) wich will be on sale together with this lass. And a civilian, I guess.

It's the box for the Anaconda.

More specifically, it is being teased to likely showcase that the Anaconda is coming out soon and that the rules are on the way as well.

That Isobel McGregor miniature is absolutely stunning. The face in particular, they've gone beyond just making a face look 'good' or realistic, and have actually nailed a kind of hard Celtic-looking woman .. the style of her hair, clothing, man you can tell a lot of effort has gone into it.

I already own it, so I guess that's why it wasn't registering as anything special to me...

This will primarily interest UK purchasers (although they do ship abroad I believe) but Total Wargamer are now stocking Infinity products.

http://totalwargamer.co.uk/infinity.html

Meant to be 20% off, it looks like not all of it is yet though so perhaps they are still in the process of putting stock on the system. They have the Wulver regiment for £17.99, and the Corregidor starter set for £21.60, which is very reasonable and I think the lowest price I have seen.

Important to note here this shop has had some bad rep about undelivered orders/stock problems - now I've spent a lot of time reading around forums, I've visited the shop myself, and from my experience the problems have been for GW products only, in the majority of cases. I've mail ordered from them at least half a dozen times, a mix of products, and have never had to wait for more than a few days. That being said, I'll probably use the opportunity to order some Infinity stuff soon and report back my findings for the purposes of the Infinity community.

Yeah, I thought the Anaconda was already out. There's certainly a lot of pictures of people's samples on Google.

I'm not too keen on Isobel. Between the overall design and the pose, she's not doing much for me. I think she looks more like she ought to be at a punk concert rather than in the middle of a battlefield. Hopefully the JSA figure that comes with her will be more to my liking. I'm hoping these figures are going to come with alternate heads like the previous spec ops did, too.

About Total Wargamer, they do have -20% off everything, but you have to navigate through the main menu - if you just jump to a particular faction, the reduction price isn't shown (so guessing that is still WIP at the moment).

Kind of the same for me, but I think the using of the new Cherry model as a basic copy and just changing the head, arms, and adding the bag and defensive hacking bit is a little disappointing to me. I would prefer a more unique model.

Still on the fence of buying her, she could be a good proxy for just about any of our SK as the rifle loadout makes her flexible for proxing.

I'm not saying she's a bad figure. She is well sculpted and Angel did do a great job painting her, but I have a few issues with her. For starters, I'll admit she was my least favorite of the bunch. All the other factions' Dire Foes spec ops designs tie them to their factions' previous spec ops figures. She's one of the only ones that doesn't. In fact, she doesn't look like an Ariadna figure at all. If you painted her paints any other color, you wouldn't be able to tell she's supposed to be Ariadna. She'd fit in way better with the Mercs. I almost suspect this figure was meant to be a Merc originally. Her appearance is a little too civillian, too. Every other Ariadna model more or less looks like they could belong to a real world military or paramilitary group. Isobel on the other hand, is dressed like a punk rocker. Get rid of the guns and the holster and she'd be a perfect civvie. Hell, I went to school with kids that dressed exactly like her. I do think that this can be fixed with a different paintjob though.
My other problem with her is the pose. She has the exact same pose as Uxia v.2. I like the design of Uxia v.2, but she's kind of ruined by that overly dynamic pose. This is a problem I have with some of Ariadna's other figures, like the Minuteman and the figures with the foxholes. They seem less versatile to me with their posing. I think if they'd posed Isobel more like her initial promo art (the one with her standing opposite Yuriko) I would have liked this figure a lot more.

So, tl;dr: I don't think she fits her faction aesthetic, she should've been with the Mercs and I would've preferred she had the pose in her promo art.

I'd be very surprised to see alternate heads happening on the dire foes. These are special characters that you can use as generic specops, but they aren't.

Well, cheers for writing the detailed explanation Barzam!

But.. yes I guess this really is just matter of opinion. I will say that of course there will be some cross-over with other factions styles - especially considering that Ariadna and some of the Mercs are so similar in terms of what they are (the more low-tech end, jacket/trousers) so perhaps its correct that they look similar? I know what you mean about miniatures that incorporate terrain, and they certainly seem to have a love/hate kind of thing going on. Think there are a few great examples: The Nomad moderator sniper, the Ariadna HMG, the Shasvasti cloaked guy, and of course bad examples (the Wulver vaulting the wall). Personally, I'm glad CB keep trying to do something new and dynamic- you can see the sculptor approaches each miniature as an individual piece, rather than just 'standing with gun in monopose' as you get in most ranges, and so I think the occassional miss is tolerable because of that.

Sooo... I'm guessing you missed the pages of bitching that Trasimedes doesn't fit the Aleph aesthetic? Some think he looks more Yu Jing than Aleph. That's 2 for 2 of revealed Dire Foes spec ops that don't match their factions aesthetic.

Personally, I don't see the issue. They're spec ops, individuals given huge amounts of freedom in personal attire, because they are going on special operations that would probably require them to not look like random grunt #142. Isobel looks more like a punk civilian? I'd say that's mission accomplished if she's sneaking into a populated area.

I really wish I liked the Ariadna stuff enough to start them, because I really dig Isobel. I'm hoping Yasbir has a similar super dynamic pose to Trasimedes and Isobel, because I have to say, they're 2 for 2 releasing spec ops models I adore. I wish the earlier models were like this. I like Husam okay... but he's not terribly exciting.

Except the Spec Ops are "random grunts" from the start.

I mean, I get what you're saying but when you compare Isobel to the Intel you notice a pretty hefty difference in terms of the model.

Their profile is grunt, but that doesn't change anything about their fluff. They are not grunts that rise to honor, but special operatives, as the name implies.

I'd argue that Trasimedes fits his faction aesthetic more than Isobel. At least he has elements of other Aleph units in his design. And, if he had a helmet on, he could easily pass as a Thorakitai officer. Maybe Isobel will grow on me in the future though. I do like Yuriko and will likely wind up getting her, so I'll have to figure out what to do with Isobel. I guess she'll be joining the ranks of my Mercs.

Yuriko looks way more in line with her faction. She has clear ties to the original Gui Feng (body armor, back fins) and even looks quite a bit like the Haramaki. I'm not so sure what her pose is, but at least it isn't a derpnamic one.

I think they are all looking really good so far, and they are being also something more different and more original to paint than regular units.

It reminds me a bit of a Space Marine with chainsword and bolter pistol pose. Like generic enough for a multipart kit but still cool(cool enough).

I'm gonna have to either cut that combi off of Yuriko or devise a decent sling for it. One-handed rifle wields just aren't a fave of mine, unless it's pointing straight up (and even then).

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

I'm not a fan of dual wielding. The miniature looks solid otherwise.

Now for the most important question. When will be Bipandra and Angus preview? I'm excited, like being seven years and few days before Christmas.
