We don't know the price of this yet, right, so possibly a little premature to say that we are being forced to pay for the PDF rules?

Anyway! Really like the look of some of these miniatures.. CB is trying something new.. new art prints..I think some real reasons to be happy about this!

Nice painting. I'm rather happy with her, I wouldn't mind having her in a bit more dynamic pose with a stun pistol in her hands but I prefer her over Lupe or Yuriko.

Yeah I don't get the buy a PDF thing, it like they don't have a computer and can't "find the code online" a few day after release.

P.S. On the cat girl CB said more then once it is one of there all time best sellers.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

No. You get the rules with the box as a PDF code.

Oh, so we'll be paying for the rules and the minis will be included for free in the box.

I quite like what I see superb releases as always.

I do not mind the code for pdf, makes sense to not cram a mini booklet in the box, I do wonder on the troop profiles though.

Isobel is my favorite of them all, surprisingly. Must be the crouching pose. The poses on the others are pretty static. They're still great minis, but not the OMGWOW that CB usually brings out from me.

Looking forward to seeing how the interesting armament choices (like mines on the Gui Feng or hacking device on Isobel) play into the custom scenarios.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Are we sure that the art prints mentioned are actual physical prints included with the box? The way they word it, it sounds to me like they're part of the .pdf package. Regardless, I can't say I'm too bothered about the pdf thing. I do wonder about those missions though. Will they only use the figures in the box?

It would be ridiculous to assume that the art prints are part of the PDF package. Who would want an art print that they have to print out themselves? That would be GW levels of stupidity.

Someone was saying that the missions are using 300 point forces in addition to the box--which if that is the case makes the whole thing even more ridiculous.

Why is it? 300pts is the established points level for playing the game, and Paradiso has already set the precedent of 300pts plus special character for the set missions in the campaign.

Ridiculous would be only having a mission that was playable with the 3 miniatures in the box, and TBH if you want to do that you can probably think of a mission to play yourself, and scribble it on the back of a paper towel in about 20 seconds.

I would rather the figures were available in single packs. There is only one or fewer I want from each box, and I am not interested in the art prints or scenarios.

"Coquettish pose?" It's called contrapposto and has been with us since the ancient Greeks. I don't see anything "coquettish" about someone standing with most of their weight on one foot. It's pretty clear from the diorama pic that it was intended that the Comm-Tech be leaning against a wall - again, not especially coquettish. She looks to me to be someone trying to feign a lazy disinterested demeanor, possibly to perform some kind of concealed espionage or sabotage. Sort of the opposite of coquettish, really.

If they wanted her leaning on a wall, they would have included one. The Securitate from the Nomad Starter has a similar pose yet includes a wall.

She is not a SpecOps. She's not there to do "concealed espionage or sabotage". She's a civilian model for the scenario.

There is a reason that I used the term "coquettish" instead of "contrapposto"(part of which being that I did not know this term before now--you learn something new every day!).

I do not know many women who stand like that just because they're putting weight on one leg more than the other. Do you?

I'm done arguing about it though. You want to talk about it? PM me. Alpharius is probably sick to death of it on day one of releases, but I've tried not to say too much about the models themselves and just focusing on the ridiculous logic of "free" missions you have to buy a pack of three models for.

Since you asked the question publicly, I'll answer publicly. Yes, I do. Every woman I know stands like that. And every man too. It's exaggerated of course because at Infinity scale a truly naturalistic contrapposto pose would be impossible to notice, but it is the natural human balance when one puts their weight on one foot.

The actual model is probably about as tall as the leg (shin) of the image.

I don't really care about "the sexy". Plus I still maintain that you cannot put forward the idea that the models are selling for Infinity because of "the sexy". I still have yet to see the old cat Daktari sell in person, and that thing is pretty much always in stock everywhere I have looked.

I can absolutely continue to put forward that idea and have it probably be more valid than yours simply due to the fact that CB continues to make models in this theme!

It might be time for you to let the Cat Daktari hatred fade too...

Also - hurrah for more art prints!

I think my favourite mini of those three kits might be the Marine Engineering Officer. Going to want two of those I think. For reasons.

Angus is probably the worst Infinity mini I've seen in years.

Hoping it ShaeKonit will be able to break them up.

I'm not sure why anyone would think you wouldn't have to pay for PDF content. It's still created content.

Looks like I'll be grabbing the Fleeting Alliance pack. Love the civvie, love Space Daenerys, and my friend will put Thrasymedes to good use.

Not a fan of the other packs, but then I wasn't a fan of the concept art either. Now I'm wondering who the green haired civvie from the Human Sphere book they confirmed was in will be paired with. I'll be buying that pack just for tha tmodel, so I hope there's at least one spec ops in there I want.

Would have to be something Haqq related wouldn't it? So that means a guaranteed sale to me.

The Kamau hacker is clearly posed leaning against a wall, but doesn't include one. Just saying. I actually rather like the comms operator though. They gave her a ballcap and it looks like she might even have headphones on as well. Hell, even her midriff is covered. Pose her leaning up against a railing and she'll be a great figure. I just wish I could place which faction she'd go to. Her uniform looks a little Nomad-y to me. Is that base representative of any faction in particular?

Well no, the Hazmat civvie is said to be a Haqq civvie, so I'd assume that one will be paired with Yasbir. If there going to be a new Tohaa spec ops in these packs? If so, hopefully she'll be in that one.

Um... about 50 pages back in this thread? With the original concept art they showed for Dire Foes. There's a civilian in a Hazmat suit, and CB confirmed that was a HAqqislam civilian. So I'm assuming that means it's the civilian with Yasbir.

Since these packs cover Pan Oceania, CA, Aleph, Ariadna, Nomads and Yu Jing, that leaves Haqqislam and Tohaa, which is great for me, since I'll want both of those. But also means that we get either the Hazmat civilian or the green haired civilian from the Human Sphere art. But then I also remember that civilian being talked about as a bootleg, so I'd guess this last Dire Foes set will be Tohaa, Haqqislam and the Hazmat civilian.

I'm with Kan, the comm officers pose is not natural it's affected. I don't mind it, but still coquettish is quite fitting. For girls in music videos this is the most normal way of standing. So Beyonce, yes. Women I (enjoy to) know, no.

CB's sculptors do a great job in translating the subtleties of the human body whenever they feel like it, if they wanted a classical contrapposto, they could have done it.

Maybe I'm not getting your point, but we do know what is being bundled together (apart from some of the civvies), don't we? Haqq and Tohaa is not coming in a pack. It's Tohaa and Shasvastii and then Yasbir and Konstantinos. That's what they showed on BOW.

Considering the missions require the use of the models in the pack, it's no different to putting a printout in the box. Except, as mentioned several times, multiple languages make this hard to do.

While it's become community accepted to proxy, this is done to get around CB not releasing some profiles. If the model exists, proxying it for more than testing generally isn't done. These are specific missions made to use those exact models from the box, which means proxying would be out as those models exist.

I'm really not seeing the problem here.

The VIP("girl with the green hair") is the one supposed to be in the Haqqislam/PanOceania box and the Hazmat is supposed to be in the Tohaa/Shasvastii box last I heard.

The only thing "required" from the box is the civilian and the code for the Mission Dossier. There is nothing preventing you from doing a conversion or "counts as" of the characters while adapting the scenarios to be played by different factions.

There's nothing stopping you adapting the campaign for your own either, but you have to pay for it, since until now the campaign itself from Paradiso was the only thing CB haven't put out for free. It appears that trend is going to continue. Rules and unit profiles for generic gameplay and tournaments are free, story driven scenarios are paid for.
