I try to never get my hopes up when it comes to model releases, keeps me always surprised.

What?

Even the fantastic Yu Jing JSA bikes?

And Penthesilea?!?

It's not that I think the bikes are badly sculpted or anything. I just don't like bike kits for some reason. I don't really like them in 40k, either. Though, I do feel that the JSA ones are oddly designed. They look too low to the ground and the front wheel is too small.

Fair enough - and while I can definitely see why people don't necessarily like them in SF settings, I love 'em!

I definitely think Penthe... Penthi... Penthouse's bike looks more capable of going over things other than perfectly smooth racecourses.

The front tires on the JSA bikes do look a hair silly, but I imagine the bikes can raise/lower to deal with terrain or something.

Wait, there are going to be Merc bikes?

Looking at the "lists" that are "known," both Merc companies are still really lacking in a number of places.

White Stars are rumored to be Scarface, Druze and Valerya, which is very much lacking in heavy firepower, has no camo and can't even fill out an order pool (unless Druze become ALL).

I expect CB to fill in the Merc companies with already available models (maybe a lot of Nomads), instead of creating a whole new line(s) of models. Though, I would be quite happy if there were new models involved.

These days, with electric motors, we are already seeing 'stealth' bike designs for SpecOps. https://www.zeromotorcycles.com/press-releases/may-08-2013-mmx-military-motorcycle.html

The presence of bikes seems quite reasonable for Infinity. The appearance of the Kum bike models...yeah, resculpts please.

Maybe? We don't know.

It's not "rumored". That's actually what we have been told is the "start" of the White Star list.
Druze are more or less guaranteed to be fieldable as AVA 5 or more, as the photo that was posted to their Instagram(showcasing the Spitfire Druze) is of a full link team of 5 rather than 4.

I wouldn't expect Nomads, at all. One of the biggest things that they have discussed as having been a mistake was making the Qapu-Khalqi list able to field an entire force consisting of nothing but non-Haqqislam models.

These Mercenary Sectorials are supposed to be a more 'thematic' version of the Mercenary rules that we saw before. So far we know of two outfits. The White Stars(morally ambiguous group that prides itself on results rather than restraint, which features the Druze, Scarface, Valerya, Senor Massacre, and Tearlach McMurrough with the latter two having been recent additions to the list) and Beyhan Resources(a morally upstanding outfit that prides itself on professionalism, Beyhan Resources is a Haqqislam organization that counts Kaplan Tactical Services as a subsidiary that was established to allow KTS to operate not just in Haqqislamite territories but other Human Sphere territories as well).

Purportedly there is a third which seems to be a Nomad Black Hand fronted mercenary outfit used for deniability, called the "Van Orton Military Contracts Foreign Company"(which is mentioned in Campaign Paradiso as having Tunguskan lawyers as representatives...which is kind of a big deal fluffwise).

You realise that by saying you don't like Penthesilea that no-one on this forum will ever take anything you say seriously, ever again?

I imagine if you call the cold blooded killer redhead 'Penny' then they are going to be putting your Cube in a new body really soon.

How many of those Arigatos can you get in a JSA force? That's where they go right? I suddenly have dreams of an Akira themed bike-oriented force dancing in the back of my brain. I vaguely remember it being something like 4 maybe? Is that named character in addition? Not a fan of Yu Jing overall but the JSA portion seems to have more hooks in me than I ever knew

Also, I can't say I don't like or that I hate "Penny", it's a very nice model and not crazy cheesecake, though I dunno that I would get one on purpose.

You can take 4 Aragatos.
Additionally you can take Asuka Kisaragi as a Lieutenant option and Yojimbo(no model yet) as a Mercenary option.

Well I'd say that's enough options for a strong theme. I may have to do some research and see if I'd like the minis that would help complete it as a list. Thanks.

You could have a pretty good number of bikes, and then throw in either some basic JSA troops or some other things.

You know, using some Raiden along with some Bikes would be really cool. Since they're camo and sneaky, and can pack some firepower.

...hmmmmmmm...

I've faced four Aragotos before now and seen a game with four plus Asuka plus Yojimbo. It wasn't pretty...

I play that list regularly. Not only is it quite effective (although patient/careful opponents and camo can ruin your day), it is also really fun. You move fast and make rash decisions, just like the bikers themselves.

As for Yojibmo, converting your own isn't too hard since Mushahsi has an independent upper torso. I just use a Heroclix version of Ghostrider for now Don't forget to put your krazykoalas down when you deploy!

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Does anyone else find the Hacker-Biker sort of hilarious in concept?

I mean really, you thought texting and driving was bad... this guy is hacking bad guys when on a crotch-rocket. He should have to make a Physical Check every turn to not hit walls.

No worse than someone firing a SAW one-handed while riding a crotch-rocket.

But when you fire a SAW from your motorcycle you just steer via the steel balls instead.

Maybe the future is made of low recoil, otherwise I can only imagine the tank-slapping that would cause.

Modern Day spec ops use uzis and stuff from Bikes all the time after all, but nothing as ridiculous as Boarding Shotguns and Spitfires...

...though speaking of that, how cool would it be to have a biker unit with D-Charges? Be like the Mossad(SP?) and drive by units and slap on D-Charges and wheel away.

I've been toying with lists trying to see what I can fit and what won't go. Can take all 4 Aragatos, their boss, and Yojimbo, with a reasonable amount of points left pending game size. No idea on specifics I haven't gotten to play yet. Without the book I dunno, does Yojimbo have any art, or might I take liberties? I was thinking the 2-model set Aragatos come out with an extra biker you can't field, would it be not-inconsiderable to modify one of those to better fit Yojimbo's stats/gear?

Also, Karakuri are too cool, I'm in this too deep already
