The best news.

So many games, so little time.

So many models, even less time.

Screw it, Netflix and chill.

Yeah. I'd rather pay more for such a thing than see them take a potential step back.

It was literally never going to happen.

No kidding!

I didn't doubt them for a second!

Seriously!

I mean, was there anyone serious worry here, anywhere?

The sad thing is that he (Palanca, the "lever of the gods") has to actually say it again.

The other sad thing is this was on BoLS and not, well, someplace reputable.

Soon though? Ficzone or GenCon. So by the end of August we'll have it... well, by October in the USA if it is GenCon.

This would...probably be considered less acceptable:
Spoiler:

I would accept space cowboy only if we got some non-sterotypical native American characters.

But I do own a lot of guns and have lived out in the middle of nowhere desert in utah....and own a cowboy hat. :(

Nope. I don't want any space cowboys of any sort. Not even Cowboy Bebop space cowboys, Trigun space cowboys, or Outlaw Star space cowboys. I want proper army men with pew-pew guns and armored werewolves. And maybe some guys on dirt bikes and some drones.

Come to think of it, I could also see them sneaking in some exo skeleton troops for USAriadna. Stuff like what the US Army has actually been testing and like the kinds that'll be in the new Call of Duty game.

How did you manage to get hold of the new boxart?!

-Loki- wrote:You know, the idea of USAriadnans being a buffer between humanity and the Antipodes, now with a chopper gang, is reminding me of the resistance fighters in Falling Skies.

Not space cowboys, but guerilla fighters with decent levels of technology (which also fits some of the US's military history) and some 'out there' stuff (they even had their own chopper gang, the Berserkers).

That's how I picture them as well. Certainly, I think from the miniatures so far (and really the quality of the latest Ariadna miniatures) I would be very surprised if we were presented with slack-jawed redknecks chewing cud

Regarding the Space Cowboys vs Space Delta Force conversation...

Like really.

You can have the majority of them be badass Spec Ops/Ranger/DeltaForce/Seal guys. Really well trained and militaristic and all this good stuff.

And you could have ONE unit, a solo dude (or dudette), ine a duster and a hat with a pair of Chain Colts or something, who was a 'Marshall' or someone who is basically charged with keeping order in the notoriously hotblooded and dangerous realm that is USAriadna. Or something. Or maybe an Authorized Bounty Hunter that uses that look. Having fought Antipodes on the line, he's now moved on to easier prey.

And low and behold, everyone is happy.

Sort of.

You'll never make everyone happy. But there are people who still like the Nomads even though they have an ass-in-the-air CatGirl.

Tis the internet, where people are always right when everyone else is wrong. Even with their opinions.

I'm all for whatever gives us cool new models to paint and play with. Corvis has yet to make a mis-step in making me a happy customer.

Not forgetting we have cat-girl-ass-in-air's biggest fan right here on Dakka!

Totally agree with you, not jealous at all of the weight of expectation on the USAriadna sculptor's shoulders - you've got to imagine that the US is a pretty big market for Infinity these days, not to mention it being such an evocative concept. Hopefully they will make a great job of it!

Camouflaged Ariadna Scout

So, is that the new Tankhunter model he's working on (Tankhunter patch on his shoulder), the new Spetsnaz (suppressed airsoft pistol), the new scout model that is rumored to be coming out, or one of the new biker models?

Goddamn teases!

Nope, I'm pretty okay with it. It looks like it is a mercenary model rather than a USAriadna model.

Plus GenCon releases are usually mercs so that's fine.

So the Aleph biker chick everybody seems to like is available to this (what I'm assuming is a) new faction? Or does that bird thing already belong to a sectorial we are familiar with?

I'm with CP, I wanna see what's in Icestorm

I wonder if it's a rogue single instance (aka copy) of Penthesliea, picked up by the USAriadna crowd?

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

The bikes don't even look all that similar to me - what am I missing?

(uparmoured and much wider front wheel attachment on penny, who also rides what is basically an elongated sports bike in most design features, as opposed to the chopper-style abomination shown in the teaser images)

The bike is like the choppers the Kums ride. The logo in the silouette's back is the logo of Penthesilea. The Spanish official forum is thinking in a merc, a Penthesilea prototype gone rogue. And maybe available for USAriadna? Whatever sounds crazy, but it could be pretty cool.

Would be pretty cool. But I'd just be guessing it'll be a Penny Bootleg pinup.

I could dig a gone rouge kind of character. Would be a bit off why a rouge AI would want to be with USAriadna but I am sure there would be some fluff reason to make it work.

There are precedents of recreations gone rogue in the game. William Wallace in Caledonia, Miyamoto Musashi and Avicena for Mercs, and I can't remember more right now.

..Oh right, the logo. *That's* what I was missing from the Penny packaging pic
Right then, that's nice. those Kum bikes certainly look eye-wateringly cool, so if it's a merc and available to PanO that would make me very, very happy (though, not counting on that really).

Okay, I like the idea of a rogue AI working with Ariadna. I am honestly a bit surprised that they didn't go with a hell's Angel type guy.

Well, that idea is just speculation at this point.
