The sniper rifle has the biggest +3 band in the game now, a full 32" from 16"-48". Then 48"-96" is only a -3. That alone makes it a far better at long ranges than the HMG, which is -3 between 32"-48" and -6 between 48" and 96". It gives it a niche - it's the best long range run in the game at only -3, and has the biggest +3 long range band in the game. To be fair, you were generally using your Lt in one of two ways. As an aggressive Lt that was using its Lt order to do some killing, or as a little bitch hiding at the back of the board using his Lt order to auto pass the occasional guts roll or form links.

There were others, like the hacker marker Lt doing his hacking from the back of the board, or the L3 Strategos Lt giving his order to other people, etc. But generally it was one of the former two uses.

In the first instance, obvious Lt is obvious. You probably had a CoC to back him up anyway. In the second, just don't use it for free link formations and you're still golden.

I'm personally more interested in how they're going to change Religious, because the new LoL turn is basically what Religious for all Religious armies, without the additional 2 order pool or the need to spend orders to elect a new Lt. It was a pretty big strength for all Religious armies like Hassassins, so it will be interesting to see what they do with the rule since they've basically just given it to everyone.

My only slightly nitpicky problem with the new Penthesilea is the slightly awkward head tilt. For me it'll look infinitely (pun inteded) better if she tilts her head slightly to the right (for a more cutesy look) or slightly to the left (for a straighter, more serious and intense look).

It's just slightly awkward for me, though. Not a deal breaker.

Nikoul Ambush Unit rules are up. Surprisingly the Nikoul does not have Ambush. Or Marksman.

I LOVE that new Penny and have to have it. It has a sort of.. more casual feel about it, like she's street racing on a Saturday night rather than about to monofliment someone into sushi in the middle of a warzone.

Looking at the length of the bikes wheelbase, and the thickness of its tyres, it would have a similar turning circle to an oil tanker so probably not that suitable for a combat situation! "Hold on second, stop shooting at me while I perform this 18-point turn in the road!"

I like the Nikaul. Not the crazy assortment of skills and gear we were expecting, but I do like it. The Minelayer variant looks like a lot of fun - it can deploy somewhere with a good fire lane and use the mine to cover a vulnerable approach.

In fact, for 2 points, I don't know why I'd ever go with the standard varient, but it's good to have the option. It's amazing how often you wind up 1 or 2 points over in this game.

Awesome stuff, reminds me of Shadowrun, and old SF films....

That blurb is hilarious and awesome, makes me think Infinity may be a bit grittier and darker under the sexy paintjobs than I had figured, must needs get the books.

That is a very... cute.. size for a starter box, very slim compared to something like dark vengeance or deadzone or what have you.

I wonder if they have arranged to have the minis in the box be more or less single piece? Ive got both the male combi moderators, the blonde and the shark haired one, and the single piece sculpt is *almost* as good, just has kind of a lumpy section between his rifle and where you'd expect his chest to be, that the multipart guy doesn't have. Female moderator from the starter does ok in a single piece as well.

Just got to thinking about it.. since it's a introductory battle pack... though since it's cb they'll probably do whatever looks best and expect the people buying it to step up which is totally fine by me.

I'd rather see the other side of the box. That would be much more interesting...

It's about Dreadfleet sized in terms of the box, actually.

They might be single piece or they might be multipiece.

I wonder if it'll be like those other infinity boxen i have, with counters on the tabs, you'd get a couple more with this, but not terribly many.

It only has Sapper, which does not allow deployment of mines, only placement after game start with an action.

It has 2 profile choices, one of which has the minelayer skill.

Any idea how much that box is going to be?

I'm hoping to be competitive they drive it down to around 100 bucks. Infinity infantry tend to run between 10-15 usd at raw undiscounted prices, so that may be a tad optimistic. If you considered everything at 10 then you'd be looking at 150 for the base box, but they tend to discount pretty heavily in their box sets, to where you're paying for more like 4 of the 6 models in the box, so i think a hundred bucks is at least *possible* to hope for. Others will know better, of course, and there could be other stuff in the box to drive up the value, like a nicely done book instead of some cheapo pamphlet for the rules, and so on.

I think we all want 100, but should be expecting 150.
