Is there an 'official' list somewhere of what miniatures should be on 55mm bases now?

There was a list somewhere on the official forums but since they are in "safe mode" and you can't search...I can't find it.

Basically though: If it's a TAG and not a Gecko or Maghriba Guard, it's on 55mm.

And...anyone know where we can get a bunch of 55mm bases?

The Warstore has 'em.

Thanks Kan!

I'll wait until we can get the 'official' list before figuring out how many 55mm's I'll need.

Are bikes and REMs going on 55's now too?

Is the pre-order exclusive miniature the civvie that we see in those silhouettes, or is that civvie normally part of the boxed set?

It is the civvie on the sticker on the box. Said to have it own stat line. Only the 14 PanO and Nomad models come in the non-per-order box.

Have they confirmed if this will have watered down rules ala the 40k 4th edition starter or the full rules ala pretty much everything else since 3rd?

If you'll be at GenCon, you don't need to pre-order. Just visit our booth (#1935), and purchase your Op:Icestorm box! (and, who knows, maybe autographed by Bostria, Fernando Liste or Ángel Giráldez!)

Le agradezco Koni. And Interruptor is not at GenCon this year?

The ruleset will be structured to introduce the rules gradually, through a campaign--- a series of scenarios. I expect it is something like the escalation league ITS. So it will be something different from a quickstarter ruleset. The full ruleset, and all the unit info for each faction, will be downloadable --and free-- when the 3rd ed is released.

So, nothing like what GW does. Not. At. All.

Listen... I'm all for giving GW a good ol' fashioned bashing but in 4th edition "the ruleset will be structured to introduce the rules gradually, through a campaign--- a series of scenarios" is exactly what GW did which is why I asked and used it as an example. While GW won't give out for free the ruleset, your absolute statement is quite incorrect regarding the first half of your post.

http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/84289/user-review

As long as the starter has the full rules and I'm not forced to refer to the online guide, I may consider picking it up as Nomads would be one of the factions I'm interested in.

It is not the full rules as warboss pointed out.

I assume Red Harvest missed your reference to the 4th edition 40k box set.

From the thickness of the booklet I'm assuming it's going to be a bit more than the equivalent of the current quick start rules booklets but not enough to play the full game.

Well the main thing i'm worried about is getting there on friday and running up to the booth first thing in the morning to discover they've sold out on thursday. I guess there's nothing for it though, the preorder period extends a full two weeks after the con so if i can't get it there i can just preorder it like anyone who couldn't/didn't attend. Just wasn't thinking as clearly this morning, and I suppose I'll be able to find out the price as of the 28th of this month so I'll know how much to set aside for it.

Sweet.

It's the quickstart rules.

Now, what that entails we don't know, as the new rules don't seem to be the minor refinement we were expecting. Some rules are being massively expanded. We can't exactly use the current quickstart rules as a guide.

However, being forced to refer to the 'online guide' is a bit disengenuous. It's not an online guide, it's literally the rulebook. They extract the exact same rules pages from the PDF they sent to the printers and throw them on their website. You're downloading the exact same complete rules in the same format as people buying the full rulebook, just sans fluff.

We have no idea how much of the rules will be left out, if any.

I'm going by what Palanka said about them. To paraphrase: They wanted to do more than just a reduced version of the rules which will be available as a free download from them. But he also mentioned focusing on explaining the basic concepts too. Introduced via a series of scenarios. So it could be the complete rules. Or not.

And of course you will not need to buy additional books to continue playing, or to try another faction.

The online guide would be the Wiki, which is a tremendously useful resource.

It's been pointed out on the official boards that this is the Unidrons gun, the new EI line infantry for Combined Army, as per the concept art shown at Ficzone.

Given Bostrias cryptic remark that they would be in the new starter, it seems if they're showing them this early, they will be the line infantry in the new vanilla CA starter, as there's little point releasing an EI starter so much in advance of Acheron Falls.

I'm fairly excited about this. It seems the Evolved Intelligence might gain the spotlight after giving so much of it over to the Shasvastii and Morats. I've always liked the EI stuff, but the Shas and Morat stuff never really stuck with me.

Thanks for the info on the Snipershot; I for one welcome our new EI overlords. I actually like all the different factions within Combined Army so I don't have the issue of them not releasing something for my sectorial with them.

Thought that art looked familiar. The cover artist is David Nakayama. Former concept artist on City of Heroes and Big Hero 6 comic for Marvel. Great guy that I had the pleasure to talk to at a number of conventions and have a couple pieces by him. Glad to see him land a gig with Infinity.

Yep, that Tunguska guy most definitely does have two pistols. I'm hoping that actually plays into his profile and that they have at least one model of that unit dual wielding.

Not to be rude, but Angel when he first started that project(combining the various Bootlegs with the actual retail model) made it clear that the project was for GenCon 2014.
