So there won't be a physical rulebook for me to buy that I can hold in my hands? I know I can print the free PDF rules and get them bound etc (it's not the same), and I do use electronic devices regularly (warroom for warmahorde and wikki for infinity) sometimes I just like to hold a book. Just seems.... kinda lame. I was expecting to get a full set of rules minus the fluff in this box (ala 40k, WFB, Malifaux and Relic Knights when it arrives). If its just quick start rules seems kinda pointless for me to get this box as I don't do either faction. Was actually considering starting one of these factionscBECAUSE of the box, now? just lost my sale sadly.

They never said that it would be anything but "Quick Start Rules", overtyrant.

There will be a physical rulebook, but it's going to be a real big book.

What's the predicted release date for the actual 3rd edition rulebook? I assume in the fall?

Probably September, if that's when Icestorm is releasing.

Koni could say for sure but I don't think they're ready to dedicate an exact date yet.

Just confirmed I will get a copy of IceStorm from my GenCon ninja squad (the benefits of being a Yu Jing overlord is having TO camo minions to go to cons for me). So stoked i can barely contain my nerdsplosion.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

I just hope they leave enough copies behind for me to snag one, it will be an unboxing extravaganza if I can get icestorm and if mantic does end up bringing mars attacks along.

I'm disappointed that the bonus figure is exclusive to Ice Storm. I want the bonus figure, but I collect neither Pan Oceania or Nomads and have little desire to collect either.

Do we know if they're actually packing the bonus model in or just giving it out in a blister? I was looking at grabbing the set for my nephews for Christmas (handy that one plays PanO and one plays Nomads), but I don't want to rip into their Christmas present to get that model out and give them an opened, unshrinkwrapped box for Christmas.

If they released it with the plain rulebook preorders too I'd be happier.

Honestly, better to open it now, check that everything is present and okay, than to wait four months and file a missing model claim. If you're feeling really industrious, you could find someone with a shrink wrapper.

Although you might have more trouble with the yellow sticker than the shrink wrap.

If I had to guess I would say that the miniature probably comes as an extra - based on how the other special went before (with the art book) and that selling the box into the future it would mean packing one set with and one without.

Like I say though just a guess, might be worthwhile contacting a FLGS that is selling it closer to the time (or even CB themselves) to enquire how it is packaged.

(although, as said above, you could always find someone who has a shrink-wrapper! )

I imagine it'll come in the box.. You can't really compare the artbook because that didn't have a box. It's not too much trouble to put a model in some boxes and not others, and slap a sticker on the front. Hell GW managed it with dark vengeance.

Is it revealed what the bonus figure is?

I don't collect Nomads or PanO, but I'm kind of tempted as there's a good number of models and it makes it a lot of a way to a 'full' force.

Later this year

Also, there will be new Quick Start Rules in GenCon, with some of the 3rd Edition Rules

Will there be an option to buy the rules in an a5 book format minus art and fluff like Malifaux? I find these small rules only books great for when your at the table (I know the rules are free to download, s'not the same) and the big ones great for when your at home.

Probably, not, not much sense to do that when the thing you ask is available as a free download, most people will opt for that.

You could print it in A5 format though.

The model herself looks pretty good. I like the armor a lot. All in all I dig it. (As always needs more helmet, but I'm biased).

But what is that thing on the left?

Its like... someone's 4 year old daughter modified a Roomba into a dome shaped clown face.

Plus other games- miniature and cardboard both.

"Drop Bear" is the name given to the supposedly launched mines that Bolts were to have.

"Drop Bear" isn't a Koala. It's a myth from Australia of carnivorous Koalas that drop onto people's heads and attack them. It's probably because in the land of everything being deadly, Koalas didn't fit Australia's modus.

Anyways, this says "Cosplay Edition" of the Neoterran Bolt. They obviously just made the Bolts' launchable mine more cutesy.

The dropbear and the model's hair look ugly. I can tolerate the cutesy REM stuff in Nomads but spreading it to other factions...

Kind of disappointed since it looks like they head swapped and arm swapped the existing ML Bolt.

Maybe the dropbear functions like the Fast Panda instead of a grenade launcher, deploy then shoots out to 8".

It is a 'Cosplay Edition' model, not at all necessary or needed to play Infinity in general or Neo Terra PanO in particular, and thus easily avoided if you don't like it though...

Can't I buy every LE model. This one is just going to end up at the bottom of the paint pile unless the model looks better than the CAD.

As I said, its not the same. The smaller books work very well for Malifaux and 40k/WFB. Shame as I didn't want to carry around a big heavy book or print outs.

Not a massive fan of the exclusive miniature, head/hair does not look right.

the Mothership...

I suspect the hair/ponytails are supposed to give her a koala ear look as part of the cutsie cosplay factor.
