Would be more likely to pick up the penny reskin, maybe she could lead my someday aragoto biker gang, can vanilla pan-o even take bolts? I guess I could consider her to flesh out my new incidental pan-o faction.

Of course they can take Bolts, no sectional has a unit that the vanilla can't take.

From past Gencons I haven't noticed the infinity booth really moving fast. Last year there wasn't a big line on Thursday morning.

The Bolt IS NOT the starter set's LE model. It is a cosplay LE model for gen-con. The starter is getting the briefcase LE model.

So I've been looking at Infinity for quite some time and I'm thinking of taking the plunge with this new Icestorm box. Nomads are even my favorite faction. Couple of questions, though.

Are the models all new or are they just repacking existing sculpts into a starter box?

I can pre-order it anywhere and still receive the LE model, right?

You can preorder it from your retailer and get the LE model, yes. I'm sure online retailers will also have the LE mini offer.

They would be all brand new sculpts and yeah, from their wording you can preorder from anywhere and still receive the LE model.

Dentry, if you feel like getting into Nomads even before you can get Icestorm, either the Corregidor or Bakunin starter sets (which are subsets of the Nomad faction) would also be good starting-points. If you like 'em freaky and sneaky, go for Bakunin. Brutal and reliable, Corregidor. Or you can wait for Icestorm and probably get a balanced team that's not really oriented towards any of the sectorials.

Can't wait for the Warstore to get it on their pre-order list!

I've actually added the Corregidor Command set to my digital shopping cart many times, but never pulled the trigger. Was thinking of doing it with my Warstore order tomorrow (or some Szalamandras). Only worry now is that I'd buy some of the models in the command set twice if they have updated versions in the Icestorm box.

There is nothing in the Corregidor Jurisdictional Command set that is being updated in Icestorm.

You're getting the "basic" Alguaciles in Icestorm, they're just an alternative unit to Wildcats(the CJC "line" unit in the box, since they were necessary for CJC in Paradiso as they provided Specialists).

The reason he says "You'll only need one" is because you can only take one. They might get higher AVA when the Tunguska Sectorial comes out in Acheron Falls, but I doubt it.

Koni clarified that the female "cosplay" Bolt and the early release of Penthesilea will not be available from anywhere except GenCon or their webstore.

You can preorder Icestorm through their webstore, pick it up at GenCon, or preorder it through your local shop/a webstore. What likely will be done in the latter option is that they are required to actually place your order before August 31st or they will not get allocated the "special" version.

They did the same thing with Campaign: Paradiso and the Infinity Artbook just with no dates.

That's certainly a reasonable and perhaps accurate translation but "Only available at GenCon, or through pre-order from x until y" is less contradictory than "Pre-order from x until y, no longer available after z (where z takes place between x and y)"

..but luckily for us, we heart CB for their miniatures, not their grasp of English

It's disheartening that they have so many fans who speak fluent English and Spanish and offering to help do translations(without being paid even!), but they keep insisting on using their in-house translators and Google translations.

Good to hear that this will be a general release. I might pick one up along with the Kum box once the 3rd edition rules come out even if I don't end up playing/collecting. I could always use some biker gangers for shadowrun after all.

Didn't we already know it was going to be a general release? Or was it more of a 'well, the Anaconda and Scarface were, so I guess she will be too' sort of thing?

It wouldn't be for gaming purposes. Just like to own multiples some times for painting or display.

Nope. Didn't apply, and don't have the personal time to dedicate to doing it anyway.

Hmmm, I might get Ice Storm (so that's it's easier for me to get friends into playing Infinity) but gah. so much backlog it's not even funny. And with Infinity models I feel that it's a waste to just paint them tabletop quality.
