I love my infinity models, but the Giraldez book is probably the most exciting new thing on the stand for me.
I hope they do a video version of it in some format later.

The cosplay is cool. I always enjoy seeing it. I imagine using thinner materials would have taken a lot longer.
I'd get a chibi set. Chibi Joan as the queen of the set.

Far too much cool stuff here!
Glad to hear the game has been popular at Gencon, the amount of effort they seem to be putting into everything I think they deserve it.
Definitely looking forward to that book as well, although I'm guessing I'll probably be the equivalent of a cave-man looking at a technical manual for how a combustion engine works in terms of how much use it will be to me..

Master class book sounds interesting.
Both of the bootlegs assembled with original TAGs sets are impressive and if I ever go for display miniatures I'd definitely want something like that. I wonder how much cutting and rescuplting was involved to join both sets into one miniature or was it just a simple bits swap? The pose of the O-yoroi standing and lifelessly staring at the sky is really cool.

Okay.. that was quite a lot to catch up on.
First of all, Yojimbo. Will be purchased if only to add to my "Bikers of Infinity" collection. I'm sure CB will done day bring out rules for a bike racing game and then I will be in pretty good stead!
Next, Ms Lyons. Keeping it classy, I gotta say, the suit looks great. She did a great job with it. I've used those materials before.. light, fairly cheap, easy to reshape and durable.. but it ain't easy to make something look good with that stuff so she did an awesome job. She clearly loves making and wearing costumes so.. yeah, pretty bad ass. As for MCB, she's an attractive looking woman doing her thing. Her costume is less awesome though.
As for that new Tohaa unit, the base is all wrong. If you are going to roll with a " 'sup Motherf***as?" pose you totally need an open door behind the model (preferably one that looks kicked open)
Finally, the case of Angel's painted goodness. Not much needs to be said here, but when it's all concentrated in one place, I'm surprised it doesn't make more people snap their paintbrushes and rage-quit! Has CB / AG specifically said that the masterclass is a book? It would make more sense to me if it was a DVD.

If you're just wanting a point to dive in and start luring others with the models? Yes.
Are the factions inside a good sampling?
Kinda/sorta?
Bear in mind that each "unit" is part of a different subfaction.
The "Big 6" factions(Nomads, PanOceania, Haqqislam, Yu Jing, Combined Army, and Ariadna) each have at least two subfactions referred to as "Sectorials". The other two(Tohaa and ALEPH) are newer factions, but even ALEPH has a Sectorial in the form of the "Steel Phalanx" and Tohaa are in line to get a Sectorial with "Acheron Falls"(the next campaign/sourcebook).
So to give an example: the Nomad side could easily be rejigged into a Corregidor Sectorial force with the simple purchase of the forthcoming Alguaciles box and removing the Spektr, Grenzer, and Reverend Healer.

I think he's over complicating it for you.
If you and a friend want to play against each other, or you want to try it out: Then yes this is a great boxed set, and the factions are fairly balanced against each other and easy to expand on. You get the rules, tokens, and terrain.
If you want to get serious into it, and play in the tournament scene: Like any game you'll have to get used to some of the more advanced things, and re-jigger your army as you develop a play style you like.

lol, so do the rules break down like that for the list building? Basically pick one faction, or then decide on a subfaction (more complex charts)?
Or are you tempting me with a blue pill?

Yes, each unit profile has a AVA that lets you know how many of that unit you can have in your general list. Then in the back of the other 2 books or online (sectorials are a advanced-ish rule) are charts for each sectorial showing what units can be used and their new AVA.
But, for now skip the sectorial and just learning the core mechanics. They are simply once learned but can be a pain while starting.

There are essentially 2 ways to play a faction. A "vanilla" list gives you access to all the troops from your faction, but sometimes with limited availability. In a sectorial you have a more limited choice of models, but have access to link-teams (squads of soldiers that act as one, with various benefits) and higher availability on some profiles. For instance if I play the all French sectorial inside the Ariadna faction, I can take more of some French troops (4 Chasseurs instead of 2), but I can't take any non-French troops.
For a beginner I'd really recommend playing a vanilla list. Link-team rules can be a lot to learn while also learning the game, plus vanilla is just a lot of fun with all the different models you have access to. I think Operation: Icestorm will give you a good mix of different troops and abilities to see what you like.

I recommend against simply playing vanilla to start with.
Link Teams are entirely optional in Sectorials. You can "get acquainted" with the basic rules by using a Sectorial and just foregoing the Link Teams.
