I've never played APOC but I have the rules and over 10K in Plague marines alone. If I totaled up all the Chaos I have (in 6th Ed cost) I'm betting I'd have close to 15K pts.
One thing I've started doing is magnetize all of my Champions and Terminators. Easier to do a weapon swap on the same model than having 15 Champions around and still come up short on specific weapon combos.
I wish I had thought of this sooner. I'd have magnetized my Dreads and my Predators.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up w/ for a color scheme. I expect great things from you.

It's funny you say that about champs and termies.
I have over 100 Terminators and still can;t make proper squads. I went on a bit of a magnetizing adventure a couple weeks back but have not had time to keep up with it.
I ran in to an issue where I will be needing 2 magnets per arm or 1 pin/1magnet and had to rethink my magnet placement a little.
P.S. That's a few Plague Marines , Just sayin'

Are they plastic or the old metal ones? I've been converting a few plastic Terminators recently and the magnets I used worked fine. Arms stay on and can be positioned in dynamic poses. I like knowing that even if I get stomped in the game, I had the coolest looking models on the table.
Also, what size magnets are you using. I have two different sizes, and the larger worked really well. No issues yet. I don't have the packaging so I don't remember what they are (I'm still new at converting w/ magnetization) but they are really decent.
I used the same magnets on my metal Terminators as I did on the plastic ones, and they do not have the same hold to them. The arms stay on tight and they stay level enough to work but they aren't doing well in the 'dynamic pose' department.
...you're not the only one with obsessive collection disorder.

Well 25 are plastic, 20 are plastic with fw conversions, 20 are lead RT termies and the rest are pewter
The pewter ones are the ones that I am magnetizing. I am using 1/8 x 1/16 magnets.
They hold the arm in place just fine but I am having trouble with rotation. I think I have worked out a solution but I have yet to try it out
And I'm very happy to hear that I'm not alone in my collecting stuff disorder.... on the other side of that coin you have far more painted models than I do

I'm using pewter ones as well. I'm happy w/ the magnets for function but want stronger ones for posing.
Also... you have a lot of RT Terminators? Hmm. Maybe talk about a trade? RT for 2nd Ed?

Trade you say? I would have to look at the offer

Soo I've been slacking a little.... OK a lot on my online presence.
I have some very exciting things on the go these days.
I have a pile more models assembled, but sadly have no pictures as of yet.
I am slowly becoming accustomed to both 6th edition and the new Chaos Meta. ie, footslogging nurgle here I come
I've also been involved in the opening of a new game store. It look slike we have all of our ducks in a row now and we should be opening sometime at the begining of april I'm quite excited about this!
As per ususal now that I have time to sit and blog I am at work rather than at home and can't just go snap a few pictures for everyone.
I'll put this out there instead:
What do you guys feel are the best units in the Chaos 6th ed Codex?

Plague Marines, units marked by Nurgle, Abaddon and Helldrakes.

I would def tend to agree with all of those. Plague marines are just by far the best bang for the buck.
Heldrakes are devistating when they come in and Abbadon is a freakin freight train!
I'm also really enjoying Chaos Spawn marked with Nurgle

I'd also say Slannesh is quite high ranking, with Noise marines, Feel no Pain and it's Psychic powers.

I've been having good luck w/ plain ol' Chaos Marines w/ a LOT of heavy firepower. I run mostly Infantry and each unit always carries 2 HB or 2 AC. I never add Aspiring Champions so there's no question of everyone fighting in CC. Havocs almost always have at least 1 LC squad and 1 HB squad, and an AC squad most times. I generally use one generic Lord w/o any special anything and bury him in the largest unit of troops I have, or if I have a Land Raider on the board he's always in it.
My most recent game I played did have a DP (specifically becasue I was playing against Inquisition and wanted to bait them w/ a Daemon on the table ) w/ Mk of Khorne and some other dandy upgrades, specifically Wings. He won the game for me on the last turn, getting Warlord and primary objective and kill points all in one combat!
But usually I play the aforementioned generic force and have done really well w/ it. Only a couple losses and a lot of wins.

I agree, I don;t see anything wrong with slannesh at all.
I'll have to do the math but for me Nurgle is far more points efficient so far. having a couple more wounds gets pretty important in competetive play
