I didnt think nge was much of a mind screw, but then i didn't take the last two episodes seriously.
Since were doing anime openings we like, but favorite might be from Oda Nobuna no Yabo, Stiens;Gate and Gulity Crown. Damit! Spice and wolf too! So many good OPs! Be warned. The spice and wolf op might be considered nsfw by some.
Spice and Wolf's OP is such a dreamy song. It's gorgeous.
Guilty Crown's three OPs are all solid, pity the series doesn't live up to it's music.
I linked one of Macross Frontier's OPs "Lion" on the last page, and it's one of my favorite OPs.
Outlaw Star's "Through the Night", Angel Beats "My Soul, Your Beats" are both excellent. Sirius from Kill La Kill is a solid recent OP that is getting lots of play on my zune. Go To The Top by Koda Kumi from Muu Luv Alternative Total Eclipse is probably the best thing about that particular anime, While Infinite Love by Cloverfield X from Bodacious Space Pirates proves that combining the powers of an Idol Group and a guitarist from Megadeth is only winning. Another common play for me is Make My Day by Piko from Binbougami Ga! (Good Luck Girl!) which I won't... yeah I'll link it again, what the hell why not? And a final classic is from You're Under Arrest, Love Somebody!
I beg of you sarge let me lead the charge when the battle lines are drawn
Lemme at least leave a good hoof beat they'll remember loud and long
I jam out to this song all the time (the actual version, this is a piano version of the GBF op1 with lyrics),
and I feel compelled to play this song before every cardfight I am in.
There are just so many anime that have a good soundtrack/OP. I'll man up and admit it; I like the soundtrack for the love live anime. I find it relaxing. The soundtrack for Non Non Biyori is incredibly relaxing as well (like the anime). Even Gundam seed/ seed destiny have some good OPs and EDs. +1 for me liking the Guilty Crown soundtrack, too.

Just finished attack on titan anime, and read the manga up as far as they have printed. This show is DARK. First time through I missed the "additional ending" after the credits in the final episode of season 1, episode 25. It's 4 seconds of WTF, HOLY GAKK!

A longbeard when it comes to Necrons and WHFB. Grumble Grumble
Read the manga in full to try and make sense of it, but nothing so far in 53 chapters. this is my theory I made about that.
Spoiler:
Since the walls are made of Titans, and the names of the walls are female names, the walls are made of collosal female titans. Eren cant harden his skin, and neither can the other male titans, so far only Annie could, so maybe thats a "gender" specific quality, And the church has A LOT that they are hiding, SO MUCH

Eeyup. that's what a lot of people don't get when they see the current generation of exoframes- the only real difference between what we have now and what you see in anime/superhero stuff is battery/runtime and the layers of armour/padding. Heck, we're fast approaching the point where man-portable self-lifting devices are a thing.
GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.
If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

Ironically, Sagawa Electronics, makers of this exoskeleton, were a front used some of the villains in Ghost in the Shell (manga). They were also a target of the Laughing Man in Stand Alone Complex.

Mostly because some of it is seriously messed up weird and also because some of the "hardcore anime fans" I have met make me despair for the entirety of the human race.
That said I've been watching Yu Yu Hakisho recently and I love it. It's so incredibly weird but it's weird in a good way and the story is pretty interesting. I think I might follow it up with Fullmetal Alchemist.
After that maybe Robotech or Blue Submarine number 6, or cyborg 009. I have fond memories of those from Toonami when I was younger. Heck, maybe even Trigun or Outlaw Star... now I've got over my irrational fear of Japanese animation anything is possible.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from Blue Submarine Number 6. You don't have to hate anime to hate that one, and liking anime doesn't help much, either.
I cannot recommend Trigun highly enough. I've only heard good things about Outlaw Star, but have never seen it. Robotech is a classic, if somewhat maligned by "die hard" anime fans these days, for being a "horrible Frankenstein blasphemy" created by mixing three separate shows together. Don't listen to the haters, though... Robotech is excellent, and I've seen the Japanese shows it is based on (and apart from Macross, there isn't much to crow about).
If I can make a recommendation, look for Cowboy Bebop. Silly name aside, its bounty hunters in space, with the least anime-sounding soundtrack ever recorded. The opening theme alone is worth the price of admission.
Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)
Cowboy Bebop- what happens when you take Anime, and add Chemical Jazz to the mix.
Kinda like how Nobunagun is what happens when you add Chemical Metal, or Gurren Lagann is what happens when you add Chemical MAN.
Robotech is interesting, because it's what Mechwarrior is partially based on- and there's a whole Lloth's web of legalities and copyrights and trademarks that tie through that, Battletech, Mechwarrior, Macross and all the other bits and pieces that 80s television and game execs just didn't want to bother their legal teams about, and so didn't.

'Cause I haven't. Need to watch it tonight. LOL! Can't frikkin' wait!
I just did.. I just watched... and I need a new pair of pants ASAP.
Spoiler:
So, not only did they start with that TROLOLOLOL moment, scaring the gak outta me with the idea of a recap episode, new opening and an episode dedicated to revelations and more foreshadowing than I could notice besides Satsuki possibly rebelling, as we see in the new opening.
It felt so Gurren Lagann. The huge revelations and the whole alien thing, I know they did it before, but frak that, they seem to be masters when it comes to this type of plot; It all started with that tiny blob of plot, discovering a murderer and revenge her father, now we have world-wide conspiracy and a Mass Effect Reaper's scenario of all things! "Oh, it's lunch time already? They are evolved / numerous enough already? Sweet!".
And let's not mention certain interesting scenes... concerning water...
Oh, and the new ending is just adorable!
Thank you Trigger, you are Gods <3

I think the energy production won't be so much a breakthrough as a quiet walk down the lane of progress. We're regularly increasing the efficiency of solar panels every year- working to make them thinner and cheaper as well. Eventually the point where the efficiency to cost to weight ratio reverses will be reached, and you'll start seeing Ford or Citroen or whoever coming out with electric cars with integrated solar panels, and the Govt will start installing solar/battery powered streetlamps, and it'll be listed as the 'new, next generation' option for roofing material. Then suddenly electricity will start becoming cheaper and cheaper, with the current power companies utilizing fields of the things and going on ad campaigns about how 'difficult and costly' maintaining your own panels and batteries is- but there will be a few do-it-yourselfers who do it themselves anyways, and they'll tell/help their neighbors, who'll spread it, who'll vlog about it, until suddenly you look around in 40 years and energy (if not the method of producing it) is free.
