Whelp, started watching Another today as I returned to hell ... *sigh* So far it's very interesting, oozing mystery and "CRYPTIC bs" everywhere.
Oh, and I think someone had serious fun with this Nichijou's bit. Seriously, this "Slice of Life" anime is so fething AWESOME.
or this one... oh man

"Fear is freedom! Subjugation is liberation! Contradiction is truth! These are the truths of this world! Surrender to these truths, you pigs in human clothing!" - Satsuki Kiryuin, Kill la Kill
As long as by that point they're in the 1950's era and SOMEBODY's invented guns, I'll be happy.
Maybe it's the way my life's going right now, but I'm keeping up with Locodol and INVADERS of the ROKUJYOMA!? and finding myself wanting another comedy anime to watch. Although I am watching Aldnoah Zero and Coffin Princess, but not as passionately as I am the other two.
Maybe I'll re-watch Love Lab....

Though later episodes get better about not 'dragging on' as much, One Piece has never really had DBZ syndrome- every episode generally has something interesting happening in it.

While I agree, I personally do find One Piece unwatchable simply because it still manages to move incredibly slow. For DBZ, this was because they were constantly riding the Manga's butt and they just didn't throw in enough filler episodes (choosing instead to drag out the episodes themselves), but even the one Piece manga manages to drag. If I remember right it took them over 100 chapters to finish the Enis Lobby arc, and really not that much happened in that arc (well, lots happened, but most of it was long winded explanations of things).
Granted, I doubt any can really top at this point Naruto. 3 years, about 150 chapters, and they're still doing the same story arc. Bright side, it's only that long because every month there's a new epic showdown battle starting up

Just found out there was a SAO movie after the first season. It introduces that government guy we see in the season season, but is otherwise just a recap of the first season interspersed with gratuitous amounts of fan service as the girls teach Kirito's sister how to swim.

Wasn't there an under water temple bit at the end? That was the only bit with any new stuff.
Yeah I think Korra suffers from 13 episode seasons. There's never really enough time to properly build up the tension of any of the crisis' she faces so it all picks up and then barrels on like a roller coaster and the impact is kind of lost.
However, it also suffers from being, well, the Sequel Series to Avatar:The Last Airbender. It's not the same kind of story as the first, and so a lot of people went in with certain expectations that were disappointed.
It's by no means a bad show, though, and the third season (which is all available on Nick's website) is pretty awesome, imo.
But yeah, the shortness of the seasons means that nobody gets quite as much screentime as they really should, villains or heroes alike- and with few to no 'timeskips' (using the episodic format to cause time to pass without the viewer directly watching it) it almost feels like a 'monster of the week' setting, where AtLA had a single villain for the entire running.

I'd argue that season 3 had some things that were better then the original, especially the not so PG bits, you know what I mean.
I don't know if people remember reading my post immediately post-finale, but it quite literally left me reeling. Like, I was physically off-balance after it.

They have released a Legend of Korra season 4 teaser trailer Spoiler tag for people who haven't watched the series in full and don't want any spoilers.
Well I went into the first show expecting something a lot less than what it turned out to be. I'll have to give Korra a try then sometime.
I think for now I'll try Knights of Sidonia. The art style is... interesting? The first combat scene was jerky at best but it does seem to be some kind of distopian future society or similar with giant robots and tentacle having shape changing aliens. So it can't be all bad. I just hope some of these characters get killed off early or become unimportant. There are three blondes right off the bat that I simply can't be bothered to tell the difference between, maybe they'll be killed off to make death for the protagonist and secondary characters feel more real.
Automatically Appended Next Post: And then supposedly the ships captain throws a giant hug on random sub-human protagonist and asks him to pilot a giant robot. And *then* there's a talking bear with a prosthetic hand. Not sure if this is pushing me away or drawing me in... Ah, super high tech future stuff, androgynous characters, probably cloning involved... gonna have to discern individuals by eye color and minor changes in hair. Hmm well. FUTURE.

Watching SAO2, Seirei Tsukai (don't judge me) and Gekkan Shoujo this season. Haven't had an anime I've laughed as much as Gekkan Shoujo since Yakitate. Watched a couple Watamote eps and I find it peculiar and fairly good, I'll keep watching for the weirdness if nothing else once Gekkan Shoujo ends next ep : (
Really looking forward to LH2 in ~2.5 weeks iirc but whose counting...
Definitely Like if batman had a giant robot and an android girl instead of a butler. Oh wait, he totally has a butler who definitely gives alfred a run for his money.
I thought Knights of Sidonia was merely ok in my book. The story is pretty standard, but the animation is pretty bad IMHO. So many of the characters all look alike with fair skin, same bowlcut dark hair, same face. Had a hard time keeping track of who half of them were. The fight scenes are ok, but no real choreography to them. Still watched all of it, but it was otherwise very forgettable, especially in the wake of Attack on Titan.
I don't generally care for RWBY's animation quality a lot either, but at least they have Easily recognizable character designs and some Amazing fight choreography.
Not sure what a RWBY is. I think I"ll at least give it six episodes in, took that long before I could stomach attack on titan (even though they'd kind of lost me by the end again).
