I also checked out Garo: Hanoo no kokuin, it was mildly interesting to me. I'll give it a few more episodes to decide whether I'm into it or not. I don't like the art style of the armor or the animation of the fight scenes, but besides that I like the art.style.

Also if anyone is interested in checking out the mobile suits from the new Gundam Reconguista in G this link has a lot of pictures

http://gundamguy.blogspot.com/2014/03/gundam-35th-anniversary-new-gundam.html

Aside from the Gundam itself I can't say I'm a big fan of the mech designs. But apparently, there are some decent ones appearing in later episodes

Really? The armor is one of Garo's biggest draws. If the anime doesn't do it for you, check out the live action shows.

I'm sure that'd be better. The animation of the armor is really weird and doesn't fit with the rest of the show.

`@lordofhats: good choice. mine is either "sorry!"or "we're here to investigate an abandoned teeming with death and hostility and you brought... a dog.GENIUS!" also, the music that plays right after he says that is hilarious.
I've also been watching legend of korra, as legend of aang was one of he only things my dad and i did together when i lived with him. it's better than i expected aclualy, altough it does lack some of the charm of the first season(?)

So apparently when they said they were turning Unlimited Blade Works into a full anime series, they were not joking. 26 45 minute episodes to adapt the entirety of the visual novel in an Anime series @_@

This is gonna be good.

So I'm in episode 3 of The Devil is a Part Timer.

I don't think I've laughed this much with any anime I've ever seen XD

The basic premise is that The Hero Emilia drives the forces of King Satan (Main character) back and forces him to flee to Earth, with one of his Generals and Emilia following him. Hilarity ensues when Satan realizes he can't use his powers willy-nilly and Emilia is following him around trying to kill him.

Of course, this includes outbursts from her in public, to which everyone says "Aw, how cute a lovers quarrel!" which only sends her into more of a rage

Yeah, it's a cute show. It's a bit odd at how well the king of the demons adjusts to being friendly and helpful to customers, but it's pretty amusing to watch either way.

Watched Harlock: Space Pirate. It was pretty. Didn't seem like there was much point by the end though. Still, pretty, along the lines of ff7: advent children and similar.

I thought that was kinda funky as well; would've loved to see some indignant rage over how puny humans dare question him a bit more than what has actually occured.

It confuses the hero too.

He's basically super nice and always tries to help/save everyone and she gets all confused 'cause the demons kind of killed people all day long back where they lived.

Maybe it's a humans being thing, once he has that perspective, blah blah.

Spoiler:
It's implied in one of the episodes -6, I think -that he was really bad at overseeing his army, and they did most of the whole pillage and burn shtick without his consent or approval.

And the whole being human think. That helped, I think.

Oh, and for those that want to follow the story post anime, Yen Press picked up the manga and will be selling it next year.

just a book. and a shoddy movie. in it there are demigods (ancient greek style) in the modern day, and the characters all have dyslexia because their "brain is hardwired for greek, not english." it sounds a litte funny. I might have to check out thid devil is a part timer. sounds interesting.

Having watch Terra Formars, yeah. Why are you making an Anime if you're just putting massive black cuts over the screen? I've read the manga. Some of the stuff they're censoring doesn't even make much sense.

EDIT: Wow. There's like, 0 purpose to even watching this. Why make an action series if you're going to black out half the action shots? If, for whatever reason, they though the original manga was too gory, they could have just altered the content to a level more acceptable (ignore that while very violent, the series isn't that much more violent than most other violent series...)

Just plain weird.

It is my understanding the people making the anime aren't the ones censoring it, but that it gets done by the distributor when they want to tone it down so they can sell it to a wider audience.

Well good news is that it is apparently the TV network doing the censoring so yeah.

Bad news, if you actually want to see the show, you have to buy the DVD. Seriously. This is one of the most bizarre cases of censorship I've ever seen. If I didn't know better I'd swear 4Kids was behind it.

Anything remotely gory has HUGE black bars set across the screen. To the point that action sequences are indiscernible.

Case and point;

Spoiler:

No. Seriously. This is from episode 3

I just don't get it. I've read the manga, and it's not that much more violent than other series. I mean, we're airing Attack on Titan and Hellsing unedited in the US. If the FCC can allow that, I don't get how this is so utterly dreadful, and even if it was, why are you airing a show in this state? Edit the content to an acceptable level.

A cynical man might suggest they know the series is kind of shallow and that extreme violence is the only thing going for it, so like an Unrated cut of a terrible horror film they're just milking it, but we all know I'm optimistic like sunshine

Since you guys seem to have loved "The Devil is a Part Timer", please give "I Couldn’t Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job" a try.

It aired 2 seasons ago and the "evil overlord of DOOM", Fino, was just one of the most "HHHNNNGG" things ever. The plot is kinda similar: The main character was training to be a Hero so he could fight the forces of Evil lead by the Demon Lord. While he was in training, the Demon Lord was defeated so there was no reason to keep training new heroes. Hero program cancelled, guy had to find a job.

Expect plenty of fan service tho the OVA even has some uncensored fan service.

There is no second season, it's one of those terribly awful shows who's main point is to hook you on the books /sadface.

Was still fun to watch though.

Crunchyroll was able to nab the rights to the uncensored version of Terraformars. They haven't released a time frame for its implementation, but at least we will be able to actually watch the action scenes now (rather than a 2/3rds blacked out screen).
