watched the first four episodes of SAO seaon two subbed, don't like subbed but whatever. it kind of sucks that kirito didn't get a real gun, but that's probably my obsession with HMGs speaking. also, what is this "ghost in the shell"? i read the wiki page and am confused, and a female friend of mine suggested it, o i assume it doesn't take after high school of the dead.
Sometimes the Major doesn't wear a lot of clothes because apparently nekkid is the best way to use neat futuristic camo, but other than that... And it's not really fanservicey about it.
Kind of a thinky show, it's the future and I believe you can 'dive' into the future-internet with an enhanced cyber-brain. There are robot AI helpers that may at one point achieve sentience and may or may not have a theological debate, most people (it seems) have some kind of prosthesis be it the brain, or eyes, limbs, and so on.
I'm talking about the Stand Alone Complex series more than I am the movie, but still.
I think the focus is on a covert (government?) team that handles weird/tough cases like serial killers operating on some of the future/etc themes, and maybe a plot or two to overthrow the government.
It's pretty neat though I'm sure a lot of people can explain it better, I've never sat down and watched that whole series, or the movie (might be more than one?) in a short order to be more knowledgeable.
Speaking of SAO, I'm gonna have to watch season 2, but did the opening theme correctly suggest that Kirito picked a female sprite? Kind of an interesting choice after all of the ethical/morality debate from the first one, but then maybe he was trying to incognito too.
No, he looks like a girl, but he's male, he has to correct some people in-game too. Good luck with this season, I burnt out after watching the SAO backlog because of the Japan trip and haven't touched any anime since. Gods, I should have learnt my lesson after the first one.
Need to find courage to actually start watching this season's good stuff.

he converts his alfheim account, and something happens so he has a "M-9000" (don't quote me on that) body type, which is a male body with feminine features. so he still has a wing wang but he also looks like a chick.
while i'm not one for subs, it's worth the head ache for moar sword art. naeked camo is bestest camo. totally. probably. maybe. kinda.

It's part of his Mary Sue-ness. You can't pick your appearance in GGO apparently and he just randomly got a really rare body type that looks like a female version of his normal self. Someone early on offers him a ton of money for the character because of it. Then he watches someone play a test your skills game that no one has ever beaten, and beats it on his first try. He's also able to expertly ride a motorbike that people usually have trouble with and so avoid. I mean, I like the overall story they tell, but they continue to constantly set Kirito up as the greatest gamer who ever lived to such an unnecessary extent. At least in NGNL they were so good at gaming because they'd spent so much time at it, I mean a really non-sugar coated unhealthy amount of time, where Kirito is largely just portrayed as it all coming naturally to him.

Wait... you like anime and don't know what Ghost in the Shell is?

Kirito is one of the characters that I actually agree with his Mary Sue tendancies with other people (that was an awkward sentence, whew).
I think the only reason he's not completely impossible to watch/root for, is his ridiculous amount of humility, and awareness of the consequences of his own actions.
He's set up as being supremely capable (possibly because of the e-ghost of that one dude from SAO?) in games, but then he's put in situations where even he can't 'succeed' (protecting or rescuing people he cares about). And he's lacking one major aspect of Mary-Sue-ness- people don't immediately like him/respect him/listen to him.
This makes him, as a character, a lot more bearable. In a way, it's a properly done 'superman' situation- character with fantastic personal power/ability, but showing that being invincible by yourself isn't 'winning'.

I am still not a fan of the GITS movies. Mamoru Oshii is a terrible director. I feel that the movies were little more than Oshii's navel gazing with a few action scenes tacked on. The tv shows were much better adaptations of the original comic.
Ya I havn't seen the movies, but the series was very good. The new OVA that was recently released on netfilx is also great! It is a different telling of the story, and some of the characters look different and have different backgrounds. But I still enjoyed it a lot.
I think I'm done with Trinity Seven. It's Constant bombardment of fan service is too much. I do like how the protagonist responds to the harem without the usual blind obliviousness though and actually plays along.

looks good. I'm not sure if liking anime is really a thing. i mean, it's like asking someone if they like horror movies, there are some i like and some i don't.
that, does look incredibly cool tho, and kinda creepy.
p.s: thanks for the consideration. it's not that i can't stand them it's just they give me a headache.

The setting is feudal Korea *know it all hat*
Well that's different.
I'm surprised I didn't think to watch this sooner. It's got a great mix of genres and tickles my historian vibes .
So these days I'm watching Yona, Good Librarian (Funimation's translations are rather literal, it seems) and Bahumat.
Which means I'm at the mercy of Funimation's video loader. Great.

I think we all have different places we like to see anime:
- Crunchyroll seems to be pretty good.
- I personally use the stream site anilinkz.com
I'm sure others can post more alternatives

AnimeShow.tv is my current goto site for watching all my animes after all my old site (PinoyAnime.tv) got super obnoxious with all their banner and pop up ads. I also currently use Crunchy Roll exclusively for RWBY since that show doesn't delay the new episodes there, hit up Nick's site for Korra, I forget what I watch Gravity Falls on as that show doesn't have a particularly consistent release schedule.
I typically use Kumby, Otaku center or watchcartoononline. Depending on what I am looking for.

AduroT, why do you use Crunchyroll for RWBY? Why not just watch on the RoosterTeeth website? No delay (it's their own site!) and it doesn't have the janky advert placement Crunchyroll does to the episodes. (seriously, letting the whole opening play through and the episode start, only to break for an ad in the middle of someone's sentence? Not cool, Crunchy.)
