Yeah, the monster is finally dead! It was about damn time. I really liked the small One Piece reference

But I have nothing against the author, I'm curious to see what his next work will be.

Yes, but so far everyone I have found was also a hentai...not sure why.

There was also one that took place in the American South in like the 1800s, really good art style, only 1 episode of it (and no Colonel Angus jokes) and yes it too, was a porn.

There's a fair few that take place in Feudal Japan, but not too many that deal in down to earth Feudal Europe.

I think it might be because, to the Japanese, their view of Feudal Europe is pretty heavily colored by folklore and mythology. Same as how it's sort of easy for us to imagine feudal Japan full of Oni guarded bridges and kitsune hiding around every corner, with Ninja disappearing into the night.

I don't imagine feudal Japan as having trolls under their bridgesor crawling with ninjas.

We need to define "down-to-earth" here, do we mean totally realistic and lacking in fantastic elements? None come to mind. If we're talking a slower pace, calmer tone, without explodeballs-magic-swordfights every 3 seconds Spice & Wolf comes to mind. Granted one of main characters isn't human but it keeps itself fairly grounded most of the time in spite of it.

Why would that be reserved for grade 12? Does it turn into a hentai at the end or something

To be fair, an actual nipple would be pretty rare for an anime. Seems like just about every nude scene totally obscures them or they're just not there.

I'd guess it's something similar. With their culture more receptive and understandable to their own history, tradition, policy and myths. It represents a risk to any writer as what to do, to go with something that has been proven to be receptive and compete with other similar products or something new and risk being completely rejected by home and foreign audience. It shouldn't be unusual that certain themes simply fly pass certain market even though they have potential.

I don't build my view of Japan based on certain tropes they use in anime. Some are quite silly to be honest but as long the story and characters are good I won't mind it at all.

I still think it's over rated. It's fun, but the animation is still pretty iffy and it has zero substance.

Seen all of it?

I won't lie that the first season was kinda blah (It was mostly character introduction), but how can you argue with a food fight this epic:

Nah, the second season introduced a plot, or at least a handful of plot strings that will blossom into one (Tournament, the villains have set their plans into motion, and others).

While I like him, I think we can all agree that Season 1 spent far too much time with Jaun. And the plot is definitely picking up. Especially the most recent episode with;

Spoiler:
Ruby and Yang's mom showing up out of the blue and dressed suspiciously similarly to Adam, who also just showed up out of the blue.

Ruby and yang are only half-sisters. That woman has not been confirmed to be either of their mothers.
