Wow, just... wow. I'm finally up-to-date with Log Horizon's S2 and it's just... wow.

The flashbacks I keep having from my time in vanilla WoW just keep coming as I watch it. I need next week's episode, damn it, finally it's gonna be revealed why Shiroe needs this!

Now to get up-to-date with Psycho Pass!

these last few days I'v been drawing heaps, now all I have to do it not be crap at drawing.
I think that australians must be less likely to be good artists, because I know two people who are good at draing and then I myyself am fairly good at drawing anything but faces, which is what I've been practicing.
also, I think I might watch desert punk.watched the first ten minutes of the first episode and it seems entertaining. Also gona check out wolf's rain, tho in my mind it will be competing with spice and wolf.

Spice and Wolf is kind of hard to beat. But maybe thats my liking for the main female lead.

Desert Punk was ok from what I remember. The MC was a bit much of a pervert and the one chick was a walking fan service machine, but I seem to recall there being action and not hating it.

Holo's a great character. And no its not because she's a wolf goddess. ITs mostly because she's interesting and dynamic. Japan really knows how to build a good relationship between two characters.

Indeed. I especially loved the whole theme of lonelyness and that which comes with immortality (or near thereof) hell, I actually said wow when holo had that whole ranty/panicky thing in S2.

By the end of episode 9, I had to clap. Justice was served. The whole plot revelations hit like a truck. Everything is going according to plan. I can't believe it, but I think it's even better than season 1. This is without any doubt the anime I'll recommend to anyone who doesn't like anime. The plot, the drama, the world, the villains, the cast. (Cowboy Bebop was said to be the one to recommend, but feth that. I find CB to be massively overrated)

feth.

This brings a thought to mind. I'd like to do a quick survey.

Everyone who's seen/has an opinion on Sword Art Online vs LogHorizon, give a quick rundown of which one you liked better, and whether or not you've ever had an MMO as your primary videogame fix/time waster.

I prefer SAO, and have never seriously played an MMO.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

I see where you are getting at

I massively prefer LH. I truly dislike SAO. From the first 2 episodes, I thought I was gonna have a mind blowing MMO anime, like .Hack//sign "V2.0", but much better. What I got was a harem with weak character development and ridiculous villains. The only good thing are the Laughing Coffin dudes.

LH has been amazing, even managing to "explain" why there are monster respawns and keeping it fluffy. As someone who raided 40-men Molten Core (well, not many times as a true addicted) and then plenty of Karazhan and other TBC raids, LH is perfect. They even have someone counting the time between the boss attacks.

So I'm hopping on the Steins;Gate bandwagon. First episode in and my head already hurts. I mean dangit Jim, I'm a historian, not a scientist.

Still, intrigued on how things will continue. Hopefully the coming break will give me a chance to finish some of the series I'm watching (and maybe rewatch Azumanga Daioh.)

Are you saying that Attack on Titan is the opposite of epic?

Because I agree.

Sorry I never got the kerfuffle over Attack on Titan, I found it quite bland and way too predictable.
Literally I watched it with a friend, and I hated the show.
"Oh look that character is going to die."
"How'd you know?"

I was about done right before a certain someone got killed off. I was intrigued, it though it may be a surprise prominent character flip like in 'The Blob', but no. I kept watching it after that for some reason but it's pretty far down on my list of shows I managed to make it through. I mean the theme song was cool. And the action scenes could be pretty cool.... but the badguys are deranged large people that like to eat other people... mostly just gross and boring. And the hip mounted mobility gear is just silly. I mean after they shoot a hook out, if it's going to hold them there's no way it's going to come right back out and they jump way more times than they could carry hooks etc. Plus physics probably.

I don't begrudge people that like it, but wasn't my thing for sure.

The villains reminded me of the villains from Evanagelion. They were basically monsters. Nothing redeemable nor anything that we could identify with. No good reasons, no conflicting thoughts just killing. When i think of a villain I think of Mordred from the King Arthur Tales. Complicated and multilayered. Hence why I think there should be an anime based on the True King Arthur tales, not a retelling or rehash. Just telling it as it is. The story can be complicated but it doesn't have to be. Just a simple good vs evil story isn't always the right direction to go. Sometimes a morality vs another morality makes more sense. Hence why I enjoyed the King Arthur Tales. The Villains in it have the right justifications for the reasons they fight. They want the older ways, and King Arthur wants newer ways to make his people happy. It was a clash between the old and the new.

Though I can see why people like Attack on Titan. Yes the animation is good. But god forgive the story is a mess. All the characters are well. Not interesting to me.

While they have a similar premise (players trapped in an mmorpg), they're very different shows. SAO focuses on character development and how the characters struggle to deal with their own mortality, and since the players can die for real in the game the stakes are very high. Loc Horizon, on the other hand, is all about the scheming and politics as the characters basically form their own government and act to make their new world a better place, and the most that's at stake is losing some memories when you die and get resurrected. They're both good shows.

Yep. They were monsters alright. They were humans. They just "ate" from the Fruit of Life while we "ate" from the Fruit of Knowledge.

A little disappointed with Akame Ga Kill's finale : ( Still a good show and really interesting results. I just felt like half of the finale was filler and they should have kept the story going. The death of so many characters would have been way better if I had gotten more time to know them. Time to catch up on the manga, and Psycho Pass season 2!

Also to way in on the debate, both SOA and Log Horizon suck. No were near enough time doing stupid repetitive quests and farming : p
