Got this guy finished off. I'm not as pleased with him as I could be, but he'll do just fine!

I wrote up a little review of my year of hobbying. I wont repost the whole thing here, but you can read more on my blog.

Everything I have painted this year can be seen in the picture below (y'know, if you squint and maybe use a magnifying glass):

Really quite like the yellow|blue scheme for the Carnival of Chaos, especially the tentacled one with the colours split down the centre of his face.

Did you ever find a use for the spare wings from the Fateweaver-Daemon Princes?

Nice idea to use a horror face for a Daemon Prince, did it ever get painted or did it get chopped up again?

The screamers being a mix of blue/pink works really well and the icons are all awesome (especially Enfeeble - creepy!)

The paint work you have done loks great, particularly difficult with some of these older/less refined models (as someone else said, the old juggernaught...)

I see lots and lots of Pink Horros...did the rule of them splitting get changed?

The wings from the old GD/DPs actually ended up going back on them when FMCs became a thing!

The pink horror face DP isn't painted yet, but he is on the to do list, I promise! I keep getting distracted by other projects, but I'm actually looking forward to painting him up as a giant pink horror!

Yeh the old rule for pink/blue horrors got pretty much dropped, although there is a reference to it in the current codex (pink horrors make extra attacks before they die to represent the blue meanies). I love the old horrors so much though so I had to mix in some of the old blue horrors and paint them up as pinkies too. I've actually got another unit of pink/blue horrors in the works for summoning purposes. It just never stops!

Got my first models of 2015 done:



My summoned Plaguebearers needed some command models, so I bashed these chaps out. A small amount of conversion work went into three of the four, but nothing too heavy.

It took me a second to realise that both the standards do actually have the pieces connecting the lower two skull-circle-things to the top one as both of them seemed to merge into the background...

...but anyway, really nice work. Have you considered being cheesy and putting three tiny clumps of grass on the base as a nod to papa? :-P

I am really impressed by your models! not just with how damn cool they look but that you have followed your passion and used all those gorgeous old models and shown us they are still up there with the rules of cool!

Cheers I'm really pleased with the cultists actually, so much so that they've moved up the painting list by a few places!

Just make sure you arm the cultists so they can double as Scavvies, with Pit Slave hired guns! :-D

Haha yes that's a good point (assuming I ever get round to playing Necro again).

Another update for you. More of the same really, but I've now got two full units of Screamers (nine each), and a full unit of Flesh Hounds (20).

Got my first unit of Daemonettes painted:

Nice I recently managed to pick up some of these old Daemonettes got them ear marked along with the Sorceror and Champion I've picked up to act as the final bad guys in an Inquisimunda campaign.

Ah that'll be so cool! They're such brilliant models!
