I dunno Guita, I gotta say I'm a huge fan of all your work here. Everything you touch seems to turn to pure gold...

Having said that, your Chaos Knight left me feeling like its missing something. I think its the gun... You always make such cool looking custom guns, to just use the stock Knight gun arm seems sinful lol!

Don't get me wrong, the model just as it is made me when I saw it.

Amazing! Absolutely amazing! And a relatively simple conversion to boot! Always the best ones. I think I'll have to remember this spawn\talos combo for later. Subbed!

The only thing better than you paint job in my estimation is that it appears that you took a heldrake off a table in order to make the dread's head.

Every time a heldrake is disassembled and used for something other than its rules, a guardsmen gets a snack.

Thanks guys.

Every army needs a boss, and my boss needed to be BOSS, so I made one.

This is my Warsmith (no, not WarPsmith), a Khorne lord on a Juggernaut with Axe of Blind Fury. He's going to accompany my spawns and thrash around the battlefield, dealing out a good and proper beatin' to anyone in his path.
I made it a point to not have any Khorne symbols on it, so not to be out of place with the rest of the armys iconography, and the juggernaut has been bulked out quite a bit, to better fit a CSM lord - especially the front legs and feet has been converted.

And a class photo of him and his bunch of combatdrugged maniacs:

Absolutely gorgeous as usual. Every one of these models captures the essence of the horror that is Chaos. I'm especially looking forward to seeing the final look of these drugged up goliaths all painted up!

Nothing short of spectacular. Love the dynamism of his pose! Really going to be a focal point for the unit.

Well, to be fair, if he's an Iron Warrior affiliated with the Dark Mechanicum, he could easily be both. Would make for a spiffy business card as well: Lord Ferrax Evildude, War(p)smith

Amazing model, Rasmus! I especially love how all those spiky bitz go in the same direction: they seem to be straining to reach the enemy, and whoever's on the receiving end of that is certainly in for a world of hurt!

He also looks great together with your arco-flagellant spawn! Terrific work, all around.

Oh, and by the look of those mechadendrites, you already own the new Helbrute kit, right?

Thanks, buddy. Actually the mechadendrites are from a Dreadfleet ship I bought on ebay a year or two ago, but never got to use them - now was the time. But yes, I've bought a new Helbrute, in a stubborn attempt to try and make it look good. Unfortunately I think it's a pretty awful model as is, so I'll probably only use the sarcophagus, and modify some of the weapons.

Okay, I've been thinking seriously about adding something like this to my army - but with the Black Legion supplement, using the Eternal Warrior wargear and a lightning claw/powerfist combo. Hell, I even want to us that model!

I.

Thanks!

@ Kepora: It's not difficult a conversion;

1) Use the torso, cut off from one of the DV Chosen
2) Use a Dark Angel sword arm (with tilted wrist) for the axe arm
3) Use whatever weapon you fancy.
4) The right arm is a Warp Talon LC arm, combined with the powersword arm from the same kit - hence the knuckleduster
5) The Juggernaut legs are pinned on, with about a 1/4" gap between the body and the legs, and bulked up with tubes and spikes.
6) The skullcrusher knight legs (I used that kit) are cut off at the knee and replaced with lower legs from DV Chosen.

Bullcrap! It's a cool-looking kit, and I have no doubts in my mind that you could make it even more awesome. Hell, the guy you did for your runes testing looks great, and he was based off what's practically the same thing.

Well, I meant some templates that the artistically-challeneged of us could just print out and use. As for the spikes, what are they from? Heck, what're all the pieces you've used so far?

I'm afraid you'll have to draw some yourself - I just freehanded them directly onto the plasticard and cut them out.

The spikes are from the Mutalith, the lower jaw is from the Tyranid Hive Crone and the rest is pretty much just the knight and plasticard.

Anyway, fresh from the Dark Forge - my Maulerfiend, now with paint!

Yes, I know he's missing a right hand weapon, but I haven't come up with something just right yet, and I'm in the painting zone, so to speak, so I make sure I keep up the steam by moving on.

If your still looking for a right arm how about a huge spiked ball/Morningstar/ flail? I think the shaven screaming bell one might be too big, but I believe it has runes on it that could ti n with he ones on the body that you have glowing, which by the way...... DAMN!

I really think the whole leg section is awful - it has fat thighs, way to much fleshy stuff, and short stubby arms. The shoulder pads are way too rounded as well. I have one in progress that's almost done, so expect pics tomorrow or thursday - I think I got it looking pretty good afterall.

I do have to agree with you on that. Hellbrutes look okay for Nurgle maybe but they still tend to look like marines that ate a power-up mushroom from Super Mario...

Maulerfiend looks awesome Guita and I'm sure your Hellbrutes will follow the path of awesome blazed by your other dreads!

Fresh from the Soul Forge!

I downloaded the Helbrutes Dataslate and I definitely want to try out the Mayhem pack (teleporting crazed Helbrutes - whats not to like?) I need to build one more, but I grabbed the new Helbrute kit, and after a bunch of sighing over how horrible it is, I grabbed my trusty pair of sentinel legs and tools, and went to work. Basically I think the torso and sarcophagus is looking great, especially the back, but the arms, shoulders and legs just had to go. I'm pretty pleased with the result, and I think it's much better than stock - I'm looking forward to building the next one.

My man focus at the moment is improving my sculpting skills - I'm okay when it comes to muscles and organic stuff, but I find armour and sharp edges very challenging - so much so that the legplates on the last Helbrute was done by my buddy Tue Kaae. This time I wanted to improve, and took my time - they are HARD to do, but the second one was quite a bit easier than the first (the left one is still missing the arrows). It can stil be improved upon, but I'm pretty happy with the result.

The weapons are workable, with modifications - I hated the autocannon, so I threw it away, and made one from ork bits and pieces, and magnetized a couple of other weapons options - the powerscourge was fitted to a spare powerfist as well, so it looked more like a weapon and less like a bunch of living noodles attached to the shoulder. The powerfists look silly to me as well, so I scratch built a claw.

Oh, and I got a great angle-shot of my juggerlord - he's a mean SOB:
