Hey,
Attached is a quick photo showing the head options will be supplied.
On the left is the neck ring with the armour plates closed and folded in to protect the helmet from virtually anything.
The head/sensor/neck ring assembly is separate so it would be relatively easy to replace it entirely with something else.

@anvils Hammer: see I'm looking at the thighs and legs too. I don't see a huge problem in, if i pick up the model, to make tweaks to it to add other gear down there. In my minds eye I see veteran pilots strapping larger personal arms on the legs somewhere where the hands can get at them and use them.

We are making rapid progress on the Vanguard pledges for our Kickstarter project now.
Here are the first two resin copies of the Goliath Assault Mech, with a 3D printed 28mm figure for scale.
We will make the production mould tomorrow so soon there will be hundreds stomping around!

The retail version will be out around 6 weeks after Vangaurd ships - it will probably be a pack of two with another Leg pose and possibly some alternative weapon options.
If you want another copy of the Vanguard version, to ship with your pledge, I can figure out a price and ship you another one if you want?
@Snrub - Thats our new heavy duty endoscope!
(Actually the Mauler Drill from the Vanguard pledge, which again will be available at retail in the next couple of months with a few extra poses)
@Frankenberry - Its a 50mm base. I think the Sentinel is a 60mm base and its also probably two or three times as bulky as the goliath.. I will probably make bigger mechs at some point though, they are fun to design!
Cheers,
Joel

Any chance you're going to start selling the heavy weapon platform weapons in 5 packs? So some of us can take advantage of swapping weapons out?

Loving the Goliath, going to start putting it together tonight, rather like the breaching drill as well even though I thought I wouldnt.
Must admit theres a bit of flash running round the exclusive figures sprue, something I've never experienced with an Anvil product before, but they should clean up ok.
Now I just need to paint my inital figures aswell and I'll be good to go for the Alpha rules

Hi, Yes if you mean the Taurus Tractor weapons, we will sell those separately, just need to get the product listings sorted out.
edlowe wrote:Must admit theres a bit of flash running round the exclusive figures sprue
Hi Ed, glad you like the goliath. Sorry about the flash, if it takes longer than a minute or two per model to clean up, or is messing up any detail, just let us know and we will ship a replacement sprue immediately.
Here are some more figures from the Vanguard which will be available at retail shortly. Unity Council Marines in Tracer Light Exo-Mechs, a commander and heavy weapons specialist.
The models look a bit grainy in places from the 3D printing process but bear in mind they are shown much bigger than real size!

So that's what the light mechs are. I like the idea of having guys in exo skeletons carrying around heavy weaponry like that. Will the weapon itself be swappable, or is he only able to use the Ajax's grenade launcher?

The grenade launcher is a separate piece, so yes.

With the galaxy as large as it is the odds of the average guardsmen seeing and fighting a marine or MEQ are relatively slim. Unfortunately the guardsmen in your (and anyone else who plays IG's) army are the REALLY, REALLY LUCKY ones that fight marines ALL the time... |

Well looks like this month's wages ain't going to last long. Already ordered some republic grenadiers. now are the heads sculpted on or a separate piece?
Also keep up the great work Anvil, great quality casts so far, no miscast, flash or anything. Awesome quality.

Sierra, most of the heads come attached to the bodies if memory serves. Something to do with Joel being able to sculpt more detail onto them that way.
There are one or two that are un-attached and can be posed.

Thanks very much! I am glad you are pleased with the product so far.
To further clarify Snrub's response - Most heads are attached, and in the case of the Grenadiers, all of them are attached. This is because the design includes a bit of heavy duty ballistic cloth sealing the helmet to the neck armour ring, so it wouldnt be feasible to have separate heads.
More generally, I am trying to keep the number of components to a minimum so that the kits are more user friendly.
Cheers
