The Victorian Rifle Arms seem to have disappeared from the store apart from as part of the 10 person bundle. Are these going to reappear or are they to be replaced by universal arms?

If you look under conversion section click arms and they are on page 2 and 3

Thanks for the reply mate, but they're not quiiite the product I meant - it was a five pack with the sleeves similar to the dress uniform set with shoulder armor (although I will be picking up a couple of the ones you mentioned for variety )

Alright folks, here's why you get paid the big bucks...

I am designing the dozer blade for the 'Matilda'.

Do you want a 'standard' (similar to the GW) low profile dozer blade, or something more like a siege shield or Repressor style setup?

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

I'd like a sherman-style dozerblade, so pretty much the low profile but quite wide

Bigger the better. I want to feel like this tank is compensating for something when its rocking a dozer blade.

I don't just want to re-roll my dangerous terrain tests, I want to completely annihilate the terrain in my way.

Would be nice if it could optionally be assembled at a slight angle, i.e. to push debris to one side a bit like like a snow plough. I believe this is a fairly common feature on real-world dozer blades.

Sizewise? Slightly wider than the tank, to be practical, and high enough to shield the main hull (even if that obscures any hull-mounted machine guns etc.

Or would it be too much to ask for a low-profile design with an optional high add-on top bit, representing a bolt-on addition the crews add when going through certain types of terrain?

Really, offering a choice of blades (all sharing the same mounting bits) is probably the best option - some customers will want bland and purely utilitarian blades, while others will want something more flamboyant.

A lot of real-world tank blades are v shaped, so that could look cool (and different). Can give the tank a real shark nose kind of profile.

Edit; one Google image search later it appears they're not quite as common as I thought (angled blades seem to be the most common), but still cooler IMHO:

What about a WWII-era style Mine plough like the Bullshorn? I'm not sure if they were ever fitted to Matildas but they were certainly used on Churchills:

http://thetankmaster.com/images/12/005021.jpg

If you go with a more standard plough on the front, then I'm going to go for a low one similar to GW's one, but it would be cool if it was wider, maybe could attach on the sides of the tank? Sort of like this:

Here are maybe a few more ideas:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/90/Bergepanzer_Bueffel.jpg
It's low profile with a big over-sized tow hook and large rivets on the bottom, like on your Matilda sides, would look good.

Could be nice to be able to drape chains underneath this style.

Semi snow plough or V shape.

http://s7d2.scene7.com/is/image/Caterpillar/C811306?$cc-g$
This is BIG and the struts on top are nice, hull mounted weapons could fire through them.

Good luck with it Jake. No pressure!

I think my vote is for the V shape. After all, it is a V-minis Matilda!

Something up to just below the height of the hull-weapon's barrel, slightly v-shaped, maybe canted or curved slightly backwards?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
having looked around at British tanks of the (rough) era, most of the dozer blades don't look that good:

so something slightly wider than the tank that follows the lines of it and fits pretty snugly will probably be best.

I think a V shape would look cool. I also like low profile so the hull weapon has LOS.
Thanks for asking!

On the subject of tank bling. Have you ever considered a spaced armor kit upgrade for tank turrets? Matilda or LRBT?

I prefer the Bergepanzer look gigantic dozer's look a little silly sometimes, are you going to add some sort of raising mechanism? sports cars and speed bumps, and all that.

Could I possibly see an image of the rear of the Matilda, I made some trench rails a little while back and I'm wondering if they would fit.

Thanks

Could we change the name of this topic? I just saw it, and was kind of chuffed to see that the model in question is no longer available.

It's also very much what I have in mind, though with a darker blue and red cuffs. Another perfect addition to my naval officer collection. All we need now is a good source of armsmen and ratings.

In fact I think vic has some Soviet models on the way, greatcoats et al with a choice of hats.

In fact, vic or faolan, could we get an update (in text is fine) of what projects are forthcoming in a rough timberline? I heard there were universal shotguns on the way :-D

Vic's getting ready for Adepticon and will have these on Secret Weapon Miniatures stand (from facebook)

I can't give you a really good timeline. What I can say is that there is stuff on Victoria's sculpting bench at the moment that's been mentioned in the last few months on here.

I can also say that 3 forms of Flame Throwers are prototyped and shipping to Victoria, along with a shotgun, some pistols, and other stuff.

There will be more power and chain weapons coming Soon™ to her desk as well.

Currently on my desk for Victoria is the previously discussed dozer blade. BTW Dakka, you guys suck, I wanted to narrow it down to one design, not get "do all three!", but it gave Victoria a good laugh at my naivety.

Otherwise, I am largely engaged at the moment packing up my house, trying to sell it, and buying another one, and still cramming in commission work for her and other clients, plus a working vacation to the States later in March and April.

So if I go a bit quiet, please forgive me.

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

I'm sure most posters here will be absolutely thrilled by whatever you and Vic decide on. I'd be happy with either a giant-ass, overcompensating Vindicator/Repressor-esque monstrosity, or a a much tamer, grounded in reality and practical dozer. From the bottom of my soulless heart, thanks for even attempting to get ideas/feedback. It really is appreciated.

So if I go a bit quiet, please forgive me.

All will be forgiven when I have a Matilda in hand.
