I once had a dog that would have made a great mascot, he was a lab/husky/boxer/akita cross and looked like a miniature Kodiak Bear.

You could always go another direction and have animals like Goats,I remember seeing a couple of pictures of British regiments with goat mascots they had the regiments colours as a coat over the animal.
Could also double as a standard if the coat cover has the regiment emblems on it .

As someone who has pygmy goats, a Regimental goat would be awesome That goat has a fine set of horns.

HMS LANCASTER had a parrot, called Sunny (if I remember correctly) and had been taught to say things by the Ship's Company.
"Zulus! Faasends of 'em" was one such phrase.
Due to the other more colourful phrases taught to Sunny, along with the parrot's random nature, the bird was not allowed to meet the Queen!

I missed the post that has everyone posting animals but I assume interest is being polled for specific quirky pets?
I would suggest that attention is paid to Raging Heroes existing mascots. I don't know what they offer but redundancy could create sales issues.
That said, I like the idea of the goat. A bear in an ill-fitted uniform would also be interesting. Parrots and other birds would be neat and have applications in pirate type settings. I would want those to be over the top on plumage though to allow painting opportunities.
If nobody mentioned it yet, a pig would be interesting.

Why sheep for Highlanders? In my mind the association with sheep is something firmly held by the Welsh. I've seen this for the Scottish somewhere else before and I am wondering where it has appeared from? Highlanders are more strongly associated with cattle to me (incidentally, a Highland cow would be a great mascot).

When I visited Melbourne some years back I found that the local armour Regiment had a Leopard as their mascot. It was kept in the zoo, with his retired predecessor in the adjoining cage. Only time I've seen animals with rank and serial numbers.

I think Vic is just going to have to make a line of random animals.
If we're going to wishlist minis of actual mascots, then how about Sgt. Stubby? He served with the US Army in WWI and is the most decorated dog of the war. He survived multiple gas attacks and captured German Spies. Not bad for a Boston Terrier mix.

To be fair, their stuff DOES get released and it is very nice-looking from the online photos. Vic just won't take money for it in advance and wonder why people are getting antsy after she's scrapped the sculpt for the fifth time because the eyebrows didn't look right and is now a year behind schedule. She's weird like that I gather.
