The tracks will come. I don't say if they'll come out the moment the BFG releases though - we were advised to hold off on prototyping the extra gubbins until Vic and I both had copies of the production one in hand, just in case there's been any slightly odd shrinkage on the mount points to take into account.

That said, the way the wheels and tracks are designed, you could assemble it with the wheels and then pop them off and replace them with tracks later.

Clang, it's my understanding that they didn't recoil AS MUCH when in dirt emplacements, since the spade could dig in and help brake it, but that's obviously not an option in city streets.

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

Brilliant, good to know. I have a habit of buying models at least a year before I put the things together anyway so I'll probably make two orders a long time apart...

Kind of a random question but is there a way to request different wheels for the heavy weapon carriages to be swapped in for the big ones? I'm putting together an order and would love to add a couple guns to the force.

I really don't need the huge wheels and I'd hate to buy them just to immediately yank them off for the small ones that match my old metal guys better.

In the past, Vic has been willing to do swaps if you put it in the special instructions or notes field when you order. When I ordered some heavy weapons crew for the Tannenburg, I asked if the male torsos that came in the set could be swapped for the female version and Vic set me right up. Can't promise that will happen here obviously since I'm not Vic nor affiliated with the company, but she's usually been pretty accommodating with like-for-like swaps if you just let her know what you want.

I honestly don't know the answer, Moustaffa, and sadly Vic's overseas at the moment.

It's all good, I went ahead and put in an order for now. I'll order my heavy weapons later when inevitably I want another couple hundred bucks worth of stuff (which will probably be in a couple weeks knowing me )

Are those crew going to be made available in metal? Or are they Bones only?

Yeah, not that sold on the Bones versions as well, but people who've bought this stuff before swear by it.

I've never dealt with it, but I'm cautiously optimistic. The plastic for the gun looks great though.

Bones is pretty variable for minis on that scale IME. At worst though you will find some of the faces have lost detail, which just means a head swap (pretty easy).

The gun does look very good. The crew look good, but likewise a bit worried about the material, seeing as Vic's stuff is usually outstanding quality. The rangefinder tube is slightly warped for example, but then I guess that is relatively easy to fix.

Bones are good if there are not alot of mold lines in bad places which are EXTREMLY hard to remove, for me anyway. Spray it first with clearcoat to eliminate the paint adhesion problems and they do fine. I didn't realize the gun was plastic - that is awesome!

In fairness to Bones material, resin or metal could have the rangefinder body bent as well, and if it was metal it'd be even WORSE to correct, heh.

Folks, I'm sorry, I'm only just coming in on the tail end of this thread...

But does anyone know if that SledgeHammer Howitzer is going to go on general sale? Obviously, I've missed the KS...

Yes, the Howitzer should go to general sale. I do not know if it will be Reaper or Victoria that sells it (perhaps both). I would expect it to be $45-60 at retail based on previous Bones prices post KS.

IIRC, it will go on general sale, but at more like £50 per model instead of the £30 KS backers got it for.

This is about the gun material:

The Sledgehammer and the various components are made in 2 types of plastic. The white models are made in our standard Bonesium. The grey parts are made in ABS plastic. ABS plastic is similar in texture and rigidity to the polystyrene kits you may be familiar with from other manufacturers.

A note on glues: the plastic cement (acetate) you can find which melts the plastic to itself doesn't work with ABS. ABS in this respect, is much closer to the formula we use on our plastic bases. We tested the kits they sent us with both Acetate-based "plastic cement" and Cyanoacrylate-based "super glue", and could easily tear apart the ones assembled with Acetate. Super Glues worked just as well as on our normal bonesium models.

So same material as Lego bricks then They are tough enough to resist being stood on...

I wouldn't either- have you ever stood on a lego brick?! Only stepping on a Brit plug provides greater pain...

I think it's Plastruct that uses ABS for their plastic shapes for modelling, and they have glue recommendations for it. I can't swear to it, but that'll probably work pretty well for this stuff.

Never had issues with bended metal parts, just apply some force.
