hmmm....steel legion type models too?

I would love some not steel legion heads and would buy a lot if he did them

I am planning a regiment based on the old fallschirmjäger look. Perhaps the heads could make an early appearance for spring

What about a hose for the mask? Should I just put a filter there or build out a hose to the back of the head?

I would be ecstatic for a hose.. I have been ordering pewter hoses from Dragonforge and they are a giant pain in the ass to put on every single model, especially when I have to clip off filters or file down other things prior to drilling. There are already quite a few manufacturers of masks with filters, but to my knowledge, none like this with a hose. It'd be cool in pewter so it would be poseable but I'll take what I can get With the hose to the back of the head I would immediately order at least enough for 60 guys.

Now that's cool. I'd prefer a hose, although I can appreciate how difficult that could be...

Also, i'll take a company.

And real combat goggles please! None of these round swimming things.

Combat goggles come in all flavors.. including round.
If they aren't perfectly circular I won't be too worried as long as they're not gigantic.. but if they're squared off I'll likely pass as that would be the complete opposite of what I'm going for.

That may be so, but you and I both know what 95% of the market want to use these figs for.

Besides, I've been strapping on goggles for the last 7 years. I've never seen someone choose single eye goggles. I don't even know what you'd call them?

I really like the new W.I.P pic for the not steel legion. As that is what I will buy them for I would rather not have to remove a hose that goes round the head I would prefer just to snip a filter off and make a hose with the tentacle maker that goes to the front of the torso. As for the goggles I feel they should be retro pilot,ski goggles instead of round

why not both? Make some with thw hose, some with the filters. I also vote for round lenses on the goggles.

How about a long wide hose to attach to a belt filter



then the heads can double as SF elephant men

It's a bit tricky to model the hose (trunk ) to allow for any kind of posing. The heads would all have to be looking straight ahead.

There's a ton of options with goggles though from other companies.

You don't see many without them, it's a cool look. Given the quality of Mad Robot's stuff from the minis I've bought before, I hope he sticks with this look since I know he'll be able to do it justice and fill a niche that not many other companies fill. The only other company I can think of that makes gasmask heads without goggles would be Vic, but she doesn't make any with helmets, especially not ones like these. Plus he already makes several of the other bits you need to make a steel legion force now, so it's a natural choice for him. All he needs to make is the heads and maybe a couple of arms options and bam, he has a whole new range (he can use several of the Russian bits to make the rest of the model if you don't get where I'm going with that)

So I'm hoping the heads stay without goggles. It's a cool look you don't see very often, plus it gives a little bit of personality to the figures that just regular gasmasks wouldnt allow.

Ok I'm getting on the warpath here. I'm taking no prisoners and sparing no brave defenders. I'm disregarding everyone else's thoughts and feelings from here on out.
WE need this. We being me, we being the Imperial Guard community as a whole. We being the whole freaking planet. There are already a few Helghast style heads. There are currently no Steel Legion style heads that I'm aware of, barring Steel Legionaries themselves or making the heads yourself.

Hoses would be far preferable to filters but I can understand that that would make them harder to sculpt/produce. However I just don't think filters would give the same feeling that hoses would. Still, you're the one making them, not me.

I could live with goggles up heads.

It would make sense that if they're wearing gas masks they would probably also have goggles of some kind.

Also I second Snrub's motion for goggle appearance.

I'm still also hoping Vic knocks up some fallschirmjäger style heads. It'd be nice to have 2 companies doing them. Variety is the spice of life after all. (apparently)

Tube looks weird wrapping around the head, goggles look cool though. Where's the tube going after it wraps around the head though? I would think a respirator style unit with a hose would go straight down to a chest mounted rig, but honestly I don't know much about that kind of thing.

Also, I think goggles like these might be a cool thing to try. Same general principle but might fit the look of the helmet a bit better.
