Oh, on a side note, your battle damaged marines inspired me to add some chips to my own army, no more clean armour for those guys!

Haha actually my girlfriend gave me the fellblade and I bought the rest of the order Ohh sounds awesome, I'll have to check that out

The turret is being blinged up, and a metal handle was added to replace the resin stump that had broken off.

Great stuff , the turret looks most excellent and the little story boards are cool , nice work mate.

Just got a package from the states today, looks like it's review time ;D


For those in doubt, this is the entire wash series and pigment series + some other goodies from the secret weapon range from secretweaponminiatures.com
All this will be reviewed for gravengames.co.uk and will probably feature heavily here as well as there's a LOT of great stuff to play with

I love your models they make me want to finish building my PH IF however I know they won't look as awesome and godly as yours

another thing, do you think the forgeworld ASTERION MOLOC model would make a good Alexis Polux model, I would obviously change the shield and give him a power fist though, just wanted to know your thoughts on it as you are the masterful modeller/painter Thanks in advance

It is, and they are beyond awesome In general I am mightily impressed with the stuff SWM sent me, the washes especially are great, and the range has some wonderful colours

Yeah I regard myself as a fortunate hobbyist to get the privilege of reviewing cool stuff like the SWM ranges, I'm a pretty happy guy

The squiggly bits of brass holding the chain are made from the leftover brass sprues, and the brass chain I had lying around but is fairly easy to get hold on

May I ask how you get them to look so... Squiggly?

Thanks I'm still refining my photoshopping skills, it takes time to master it properly but I am determined to keep improving my skills

Sure man I use a set of round pliers like this one;

and manipulate the jewelers thread around it

Dorn took a nice third place in this weekends the Fang comp. in GW Copenhagen, despite me forgetting to paint his loin bling's rivets and running out of time so he didn't get the freehand on his cape I'd planned(will come at a later stage)

All of your stuff is beautiful. Angron looks like the manifestation of carnage that he should be. Rogal Dorn? All I can say is I am dumbfounded. That is without a doubt the most beautiful Rogal Dorn model I have ever seen in my life. Bravo, sir. Bravo.

Update time:

I decided to get some work done over the weekend, so I started my CoD tile (still waiting for those buildings to get here)

Decided to go for a greenish tone on the stone, and I plan to make the curb look like rusty steel, kind of like railroad tracks to make them stand out a bit. Same goes for the support girders on the side of the larger of the raised platforms.

I also decided to make the large stones on the highest platform another colour (haven't decided which one yet) to get some variation and make it look like decorative floor tiles as I intend to build a building to stand on top.

I need to get back to 28mm but I'm so absorbed in my own little world of 15mm Cold War.

Hey man long time no see Yeah you should get back into 28mm again, your IH must be getting pretty dusty

I hope to get the time to revitalize my admech soon, as I want to make an allied contingent for my IF, I have bought a set of the new thallanx and they're beyond awesome

Nice call on the metallic pavement, really stands out nicely. Loving the chevrons on the raised section as well, just the right amount of colour and fading. Perfect!
