Looking truly awesome.
That thing looks perfectly like a British Warship, excellent work, as usual.
Personally I think Jets out back And some nice stubby Orky wings. Also a silly Tail fin, thinking the Venom aircraft style.
I also always loved the wing design of the US Corsair
Could look sleek and stubby and orky. And kinda tie in to the fighter bombers, ish.
Just my two pence worth.

ok update, just a small one
ok like i said before, im trying to use as much stompa bits as i can, keep it in the family and all that, so i've made 2 side guns, this is only one, i made the other last night, but no update on that till later, so there are one on each side, and i like how they turned out, very simple and they will be gunned by a grot.
again this is unfinished in this photo, but i finished it last night, all the decking was done, i will update the photo later. love the way this bit went, it give the ship a really big feel to it.

thanks again for all the comment, keep them coming.
OK I'm now going to upset some of you, i have dissided to make this in to a ship ship, a boat that goes on water, i can't rack my brain around making it look like it flys, i would have to add landing gear and i still have no idea what to do about engines and wings (up or down or across pointing one's AHHHhhhhHHHhhhhhh) so in a nut shell, we are back on track for it to be a boat, so HMS (insert name) Destroyer.
update time
ok i wanted to make a platform for the big gunzzzz so it looked kool-errrrrr at the front, so this is how i started it, just making some brackets and building it all up, this then gave me an idea for some gun ports.......you see my thinking now
so in these photo's you can see the ports, going to make some windows like on the old school ships for cannons, will do that tonight
any not think this gun looks kool
ok here is the rest, its coming along nicely now, side guns look kool kool kool
and overall this ship is look good, really happy with this, just ordered some stuff from FW, Small guns and a boss, bits and bobs, just to give it that added "BLING"
hope you like as much as i am making it lol

I agree, might as well be a ship... the logistics of using this thing in an actual game make it impractical anyway.... I would consider it more a display piece... or a work of art?
You could chop off the lower hull and model it as floating in water however. The hull looks a bit small for such a large, hulking 'ship'. Furthermore, you could add a ship ram at the front to give the impression that there is more Orkyness below the surface, without actually having to model it. As it is it looks topheavy, not necessarily a bad thing because it's orky, but still a little awkward.
Furthermore, Someone could actually use it in an APOC game as a ship docked in port, theoretically. Or offshore as fire support for an Orky D-day.
Or in other words: don't stop! This thing is a work of art so let that little bit of sanity you have left fade off into the darkness, even if it takes months to finish don't stop until every inch is covered with orkyness!

I'm actually really glad you made it a regular ship, it would've looked a little silly flying across the skies! Really think you need to bulk up the hull now though, or at least just the bow of the ship needs to be bulked up. Plus, it's even more like "Da Grimlug"! Love the crow's nest up top, you should have some wire/string going down from it.

i did a small bit of detail work with this crane, it gives it a more working ship look, and i put it on with magnets so i don't brake it off every 2 minutes
did some more work on the command decks, can't do much here as i'm still waiting for my FW and Ebay post grrrrrrrrrrrrr

@wazzoo2000 - I just stumbled upon your blog and to say the least I am flabbergasted, flummoxed and just plain jealous of your ninja like skills in this craft. I've been tinkering with the idea of doing conversions/scratch builds for my necron army. Granted I think Orks are like blondes - they have more fun but you know I gotta try. Anyway, I'm interested in knowing a few things that I just don't have time to read through 50 pages of posts to find out so if you don't mind could you answer the following questions for me - then I'll go away
1. Do you draw everything out first on a sketch pad before you do anything?
2. Do you use some kind of CAD program to decide on dimensions of the shapes for the plasticard?
3. What thicknesses of plasticard do you generally use?
4. Ok, I thought I had more questions...answers to #1 through #3 will probably create more anyway....

1, No, i build from the heart, the only time i draw anything is when im trying to make my mind up about a shape of some thing or the .........lets say..........the size of a wing and shape, i would then draw it and cut it out and hold it up to the model. stuff like that.
2, nope, wouldn't know where to start and to be honest don't even know what that is lol
3, i buy all my card by eye, i have a model train shop in York, UK, that sell it all, so i just pop in and get what i need. my advice is buy a load off eBay and keep hold of the packaging and just keep re-buying what you like to use, i do this with tubes now from eBay, when one packet runs out i just re-order it.
