The Angel Exterminatus ebook is priced the same as the ebook version of all the other hardback releases, it's not priced because of the additional content

maybe in the UK, but i've paid $11.99 for every ebook version of a hardback through the BL app, and it looks like they are the same in iBooks...
AE is the first one i've seen at $15.99...
not that i really mind, since i can get an ebook instantly, where if i want a dead tree i have to wait for someone to be coming down from Oregon if i want a good deal...
Powells, in Portland, has great deals on books, but the discounted hardback from them is usually $17.50 versus $11.99 for digital...

THE STORY
War has divided the galaxy. A primarch falls. The Palace is fortified. A Legion is saved. Agents of the Imperium move in secret, while traitors conspire against them. These tales are legendary – from the farthest reaches of Ultramar to the innermost chambers of the Imperial Palace, they will be retold for millennia still to come.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Within these pages you will find the complete production scripts for the first six Horus Heresy audio dramas – ‘The Dark King’, ‘The Lightning Tower’, ‘Raven’s Flight’, ‘Garro: Oath of Moment’, ‘Garro: Legion of One’ and ‘Butcher’s Nails’. With full soundtrack direction, character notes, and an exclusive introduction from editor Christian Dunn, take a look behind the scenes of Black Library’s most popular series..

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Oh, and some new covers

Pursued by vengeful eldar, Magos Kotov’s Explorator armada heads into a newly revealed area of space in pursuit of ancient secrets. As the Adeptus Mechanicus forces and Black Templars Space Marines tackle the twin threats of the aliens and insurrection aboard the fleet, a greater danger reveals itself...

Winter approaches, and Orion leads the wild hunt one last time before he returns to his slumber. But a dark power is rising in the groves of Athel Loren, corrupting beasts and elves alike. As Orion’s servants hunt for a new host for the forest king’s spirit, the daemon Alkhor’s plan comes to fruition, threatening not only the wood elves but the forest itself.

and there's also the write up for Mr. Haley's hulktastic novel mentioned before

After pursuing an insidious genestealer cult across the sector for years, Chapter Master Caedis of the Blood Drinkers stands ready to destroy the original source of the infection - the vast and mysterious space hulk designated Death of Integrity. However, immediately coming into conflict with both their brothers in the Novamarines Chapter and the priesthood of the Adeptus Mechanicus, the Blood Drinkers must reign in their more aggressive instincts and accept the possibility that the hulk itself may be of value to the Imperium...

for which there is a placeholder/not finished product cover.

Regarding the script book, haven't some of those appeared before? I'm almost certain Lightning Tower has. Maybe just not in script form?

Also "The Death of Integrity" sounds like a tell-all history of GW by its ex-game designers.

The Lightning Tower/The dark King , IIRC, were originally text pieces -- at/for a GD UK or some such ? -- and then at a later date were turned into audio dramas. It they weren't the first ones they did then there were amongst the first few.

Both (along with Raven's Flight) were also printed in Shadows of Treachery, which is what I was remembering.

Yeah, the Lightning Tower and Dark King were sold years before as a limited edition chapbook of sorts. Limited run of 1500 for quite a bit of dosh, but worth it.

I liked it. It's an interesting mix of IG, some nice insights into the Black Templars, and a good amount of AdMech of course.

I also likes the HH AdMech book that a lot of people didn't like, so take my endorsement with a grain of salt...

No, that only enhances your review here, as that was a good HH story despite certain misguided users and their repeated love of the phrase "Mary Sue" in regards to that book!

I'm pretty wary of McNeill. Mechanicus was not very enjoyable IMO, especially in the shadow of Titanicus. I'm kind of wondering when the BL authors will really knock one out of the park, a la (IMO) Soul Hunter. I've heard The Emperor's Gift is also on that level but I'm just not keen to read book after book after book about SM.

Mechanicum is one of my favourite HH novels so far.

And yeah, The Emperor's Gift is excellent.

"It is the great irony of the Legiones Astartes: engineered to kill to achieve a victory of peace that they can then be no part of."

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

I don't think I've ever used the phrase "Mary Sue", but I did not enjoy the HH Admech.

I suppose I can wait until Sept 2013 to read about the Black Templars and the Mechanicus, as I don't want the hardback.

Who's the Mary Sue in Mechanicum? It's been a few years so all I can remember is being totally puzzled by why a book on the AdMech ended up about assassins and
Spoiler:
the ultra confusing stuff about the Void Dragon.

Was it Dalia?

Or... the adept with her?

I though there was a fair amount of Mechanicum stuff in there, and the different "House Lords" or whatver they were called.

We should really get Kid_Kyoto in here, as he's the one that really enjoys beating that particular drum...

Priests of Mars was distinctly average for me, seemed to be a by the numbers book about IG, Marines and Admech. Was an ok story, but not worth going out of your way to acquire.

Emperor's Gift was slightly below average imho, the 'shocking' revelation about one of the characters was so tripe, I felt like smashing the book into my face in disgust. My opinion of this book seems to be in the massive minority though.

Maybe my dislike of hardback format tainted me slightly, but value for both books, as well as quality was far below a typical BL book, especially with McNeil and ADB being typically good reads.

Mechanicum has been a very divisive book on the Dakka since it came out. You either love it or hate it it seems.
