Sorry! Reading the odd BL novel is one of the few joys I still have concerning 40k and as such I dislike it when people ruin that for me.

Not sure if mentioned before, but there's a new ebook on-line: http://www.blacklibrary.com/warhammer-40000/steel-blood-ebook.html

Yeah, Iron Warriors. I think it might be the same image as the back cover of Sieges of Castellax?

Also, I think a lot of the SMB covers are awesome. Sieges of Damnos looks cool. The Howling Griffin one coming up looks cool. The LotD one looks cool. But that last one looks so cool that it makes LotD minis look kind of stupid.

Now those are some covers I like. The earlier one posted by brook is by the artist who I'm not frankly very fond of. I believe he's the same one who did the white scars/raven guard crossover one that had everyone wondering what the hell the vehicles in the picture were.

If I squint and look at the picture, even the loyalist marine covers look like the new style raptors. 40k has such a defined look that I'm not really happy when artists stray too far from it when depicting existing designs (new ones they create are fair game though).

Finished Neferata today.

The book traces Neferata's journeys from the flight from Lahmia to her taking up residence in the Silver Pinnacle and leading into the third Sigmar book, where he faces off with Nagash. Spends alot of time on what the Vampires that survived Lahmias destruction were up to in the following centuries. You start to see the vampire bloodlines becoming distinct from each other and becoming what we know today.

Unfortunately for me as a Blood Dragons fan, Abhorash and his warrior vampires received the least amount of page space. Hopefully he gets his own book at some point, but I think Ushoran, the strigoi and the fall of Mourkain should be next, since they were a large part of this story.

There was also one revelation that took me by suprise :

Spoiler:
The Temple of Shallya was set up as part of Neferatas spy network. Which begs the question of what other deities in the Old World are false. Unless, with the way magic works in the Warhammer World, believing the lie for long enough makes it real?

For me, the Age of Legend series has overtaken the Horus Heresy as my favorite ongoing series from Black Library. I don't think any of the AoL books have been stinkers( although some have been formulaic) personally, whereas HH has laid a few eggs, in addition to continuity errors and unnecessary books that do nothing to shed more light on the HH story itself. The Age of Legend series has been pretty good at bridging all of the gaps between books and revealing just how closely linked the stories from Elf, Dwarf, Undead, and Human histories are so closely linked.

Beg pardon, all - first posting, and newly joined!

Being a Tau fan, I noted that BL is putting out a "Library Binding" edition of Sandy Mitchell's "The Greater Good on 1-29-13.
Problem is, being in the USA, Barnes and Nobles will not carry nor order the book.

Amazon *seems* to list the book for ordering... but I've no way to tell if they will actually SHIP it, as there was no on-site 'warning' about Library Printings at the B&N site either.

I even attempted to pre-order the book at BL directly - only to find AFTER the pre-order was placed, that the e-book version is not due untill NOVEMBER 2013???

What is the best way to get this book on/as near to January 29th?

Thanks for any assistance.

I don't understand -- you are worried that Amazon will not ship you a book that you ordered? Or you don't want to wait for shipping?

Apologies, my choice of phrasing was poor.

As apparently B&N won't handle "Library Binding", I'm wondering if Amazon has a similar restriction - that it won't ship a "Library Binding" book to a singular individual,
rather than a Library..

On similar books, has Amazon shipped "Library Binding" type books to individuals on their 'street-date'?

I've gotten library binding editions of the Dark Knight Returns and the Dark Knight Strikes Again from Amazon. So I think you should be good.

Phew.

First time trying to order anything but a paperback, and B&N took three different attempts to order the bookk (that failed), before a manager informed me that "Library Binding" was a "no-go" for the store chain.

Any idea why BL is apparently delaying the E-Book until 11-13-2013?
(That's the date listed in my pre-order at BL's site...)

Doubt they're delaying the ebook, it will just be an error somewhere as pre-orders are never available thar far in advance.

See, that makes a lot more sense.

Delaying a ebook version by 10 months is idiotic on mulitple levels...

I've Pre-Ordered "The Greater Good" on Amazon, so we'll see how that goes.
(At least this way, I've got at least one copy soonish! )

EDIT: Now this is just getting odd... BL site is now saying Ebook version will be available on 11/1/2013, not 11/13/13.
Here's hoping it's just a typo.

Interesting.

I've got the book on Pre-order at BL (as the ebook), but when I go to the order itself, and look at the pre-order, it's listing
the dates I've spoken of. Strange.

EDIT: Whoops, just realized the date - listing goes Day/Month/Year, not Month/Day/Year...
This means it is showing January 11th as the day I can download the ebook!!

Is it a 12 quid "hardback" ebook or a 6 quid "softcover" ebook?

(I know this questions shouldn't make any sense whatsoever, sadly it does)

This is interesting.

As of 6pm CST (or thereabouts), my Black Library Pre-Order shows that "The Greater Good" is fully available to download!

ARGH! At-work for the next hour or so, so I be grabbing it shortly.

Is this normal for BL to release the ebook version almost two weeks before the physical?

EDIT: I can confirm it's available for download at BL, in case any are wondering - I've it now on my phone, iPad, and Laptop.

Et In Arcadia Ego

Canterbury

They've been doing it a bit recently, the Ahriman book ( 1 of 3 ! ) was available for DL since Xmas day, no dead tree release yet.

Today's the day in which the special book they trailered at Xmas

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CgALwqAjzSE

either goes up for sale or is announced.

Would seem to suggest a Mephiston tale IMO.

On facebook however they published the following

Link works now...

THE STORY
From the ashes of the Second War of Armageddon a hero of the Imperium emerged. War-torn and bloody, Commissar Yarrick swore vengeance on the beast that escaped his righteous wrath, the despoiler of Armageddon - Ghazghkull Thraka. Tracking down the ork warlord to the desolate world of Golgotha, Yarrick leads an armoured company to destroy the beast but does not reckon on Thraka's cunning. Ambushed, his army all-but destroyed, Yarrick is captured and awakes to find himself aboard the beast's space hulk facing a fate worse than death...

ABOUT THE BOOK
Yarrick: Chains of Golgotha is presented in a premium hardback format and includes full-colour map.

Certainly looks nice enough but i think I'll give this one a miss the previous Flesh Tearer book whilst an alright story -- some good ideas one or two " err... but.... " moments, overall the cool idea was limited immensely by what they could do in the time period IMo -- put me off this, alas.

I'd say obliterators, it's weird how far art diverges sometimes, especially in relation to well published artwork for things like bolters.
