You make me sad. Sad because I will never be able to paint anywhere near as well as you do. Great work!

I have always found the Night Lords hard to get behind because of the bat wing helmets but yours look very nicely done. The free hand on the rhino top hatches is excellent. Great work.

I love these, man! Btw what kit do you have on that Night Lords Dreadnought Helbrute? I have found in my short time with the new dex that 2 fist/2 heavy flamers is an intimidating killing machine. I see the one flamer, just wondering if that's whats on the other one.

I have a twin bolter due to old dex rules. The model is based on death company dread, and the wings are made from green stuff.
The base is made of resin and the rest bits used come from the CSM vehicle sprues. A bit of pinning and work was made to make the dynamic pose of open arms but due to that this model cant change weapons. Actually I intend to use it with power scourge and power fist.
Still I won't think that someone will have a problem if I name both built in weapons as h.flamers.

Awesome work on the night lords, I can't stop drooling at them (and using them as reference material). I'am starting up night lords with the new codex and having issues with free handing the lightning, any advice? Also how do you do your blues? Mine so far is just Kantor blue (new regal blue) washed nuln oil and highlighted back up with kantor blue. I didn't want to go too bright as to take away from the lightning but your blues are blended/faded much better than my own. Any advice would be greatly appreciated (again, still drooling).

My painting technique on the blues is simple. I use he old colors and probably I ll finish all my night lords as I have a large stock of old paints that I don't wanna waste. So I undercoat with chaos black, then paint the armor with enchanted blue. After that I use devlan mud. Then I highlight with enchanted and then I use a mix of 3:1 enchanted blue and skull white. That's it plain and simple.
Please do ask anything and I would gladly help. I love the night lords and I would never stop collecting them even if the artworks stop existing in the next codexes.

I had the same problem with my termies. No big deal, do less and emphasize on working on good blue highlighting.

As i am working on my night lords I am disliking the GW upgrade packs more and more (pcitures only, don't have any packs yet) and don't want to use the heads or shoulders really, but still want some headswaps. Did you use any of the headswaps in your army, opinions on them? Weird thought, but I was considering using max mini headswaps for them. Spartanesque helmets:

No, totally no mate. I don't like these spartan heads. They fit for slaanesh and emperors children but not for night lords. I have something like 30 bits to make 30 metal part night lords from the old box. Some power weapon, p.fist and combi flamer arms too. I intend to make a unit using the 6 DV Chosen plus 4 with night lords heads and bits but apart from that I won't use them for typical marines. I have the limited edition lord two times, one is painted and I ll use him for aspiring champ. The other with plenty of swapping and conversion will become dark apostle.

@zapertos84, I used on them the following technique. Undercoated chaos black, base coated Catachan green, overbrushed camo green, applied devlan mud, dry brushed various greens from old GW range in deferent spot of each mini. Paints like Knarloc green and Gretchin green. Then I highlighted the green armor parts with rotting flesh. The armor trims are base coated tin bitz, washed with devlan mud, and then highlighted with bolt gun metal. If I made them now I would use blazing orange too. The flesh parts varies from model to model. On some I used elf flesh, washed with ogryn flesh then highlighted with mixes of elf flesh with skull white and then finally with vomit brown on some edges.
On others I used tones of grey, from codex grey to fortress and skull white. The most important thing is that in the end of each mini I watered down lich purple and I used it on many parts of the models such as armor trims, flesh, wounds. To make the models look more rotten.
Hope that I helped you.

What do you use for the gold trim?
Ive used Warplock Bronze, layered with Sycorax Bronze, but im thinking of going for a more gold colour using Balthasar Gold, then gehenna's gold, and then finally highlighting with auric armour gold.

I like your Night Lords. You do the lightning well. I like the standard used by the bikers. It probably isn't quite Night Lords, but I liked the look of it.
