I'm up to an Eagle VI....
Still not got a paladin.
On the bright side, I stole a build for a Turian soldier from the interwebs and the Eagle isn't completely useless now...

Marksman with Firign Rate, Headshots and Accuracy+Firing Rate
0 in Concussive Shot
Proximity Mine: Recharge Speed, Damage, Radius, Damage Taken
Turian Veteran: Stability, Headshots, Stability
Fitness: Durability, recharge, fitness
Basically, you try to stick behind cover, then with the damage bonuses and marksman on as often as possible you pretty much have zero recoil and the ability to fire full auto. So you just do massive headshot damage.
It's very good on bronze and silver and is supposed to be playable on gold.

Yeah...
That's not a new build at all. It was designed with the N7 Hurricane in mind.
In fact, it was actually called the "Turricane".

Well then, just trust me on this...
Try it with the Phaeston Assault Rifle(Piercing and Extended Magazine mods) or the Hurricane (Heat Sink and the SMG High Caliber Barrel) on that same character.
You will never, ever use the Eagle again.

Just a tidbit of new info.... apparently the next mass effect game will utilize some modified version of the Frostbite Battlefield engine instead of Unreal.

I suspect the main reason would be that EA owns Frostbite so they wouldn't have to pay another developer/publisher any fees (like Epic with Unreal). It also doesn't hurt that the developer/publisher are moving away from an RPG with some shooter elements to a shooter with RPG elements so using a shooter only engine helps them to grow the fanbase. I may not be a big fan of that particular mode of growth (ME2's mix was the best IMO) but I see that as another possible reasont to choose a shooter specific engine over what is now an all purpose one despite its shooter roots.

Interesting... They done it a bit early this week. Thanks for the update as I usually don't start looking there till around 5pm EST. I wonder if the new packs give a lesser UR drop rate than the PSP. I'd hope so seeing as how they're the same price with the same number of rare slots so as to preserve some reason to buy a PSP over the new packs. And ironically the new packs come out during the only week where I don't have 2-3 million saved up for the tuesday release, lol. Guess I burned out on the game a few days too early.

Does the game have a particullar method of choosing what character class it unlocks for you (Adepts, Soldiers, Vanguard, etc..)
Because the game has desided that any and everytime I unlock a character it is for the Adepts... the class I hate the most.
To give you an idea
3 unlocks for soldiers,
enough unlocks to hit lvls 7, 9, 10, and 12 for the bottom classes
and enough unlocks to hit lvl 16 TWICE for the Adepts. (The first time I also unlocked the N7 Fury, played with him until I got him promoted than stop, in 4 hours my lvl 1 class was back to lvl 16 without me putting even a second of time into him)

It does not have any method, beyond this one:
Do you have all customization options for X Uncommon/Rare class? If yes, you cannot get it again. If no, you have a chance to get it.

Just picked this up the other day, got the deluxe n7 digital download. Man, this game is AWESOME!
I'm really digging these games that are like interactive movies. Also, the action is pretty damn good. The mission on the krogan home world where you summon that giant alien worm to take down the reaper had me on the edge of my seat.

Have you played the entire trilogy in order? I'd highly recommend doing that as your choices do really matter 98% of the way through (except for the ending).

I've finished me2, but haven't got me1 yet. Might pick it up on steam now that the big sale is on.
I'm a little worried the ending will blow, as the massive public outcry filtered down to me before I even bought the game, and it's hard to look at anything about me3 without hearing the bitching about the ending. I guess it's more about the immersive journey, and that's what I've been enjoying most.

ME1 is a very different game (especially at low levels) that more resembles KOTOR with no combat turn pause than the later ME games regarding combat so don't be surprised at how jarring the difference is, especially in the beginning (at low levels with entry sniper gear, you shoot like a drunk sailor trying to play darts).
They really did a great job with the Krogan and Quarrian/Geth storylines and the finales of the first two games are of that quality... which is why the ending of the 3rd game was such a letdown initially before they expanded on it. The expanded stuff they added to the ending makes it a decent one and much improved from the initial almost identical except for the color coded special effects version. As long as you have the extended cut, you likely won't be disappointed. The ending still doesn't rival the movie climax feel of the first two but it's still decent with the added image stills and dialog tied to your choices.

Played the hell out of both KOTOR games, they were excellent, although you felt like you were in a tunnel amusement ride after a while. The environments were very limited, and cut and paste kind of feeling.
Bioware generally does a superb job at making awesome PC RPGs. They've been forced to dumb things down for consoles, but still they're damn good games, like being in your own interactive movie, with great voice actors and immersive stories that really hook you in.
I'm gonna look for me1 on the steam sale.
So far me3 has surpassed my expectations, and I'm having quite a lot of fun with it. Games like this get me very addicted, and I'm not doing any painting!
Edit: the only criticism I have so far is the artifact scanning. It basically forces you to find the artifacts, wait for the reapers, reload your save game, then find the artifacts after you know their location, and evade the reapers. I know they wanted to have this sense of urgency in the game, but this is stupid. They made all these very in depth descriptions of every planet, and now you just ignore them because there's no reason to orbit any planet if you don't detect an artifact.

I might buy the PS3 triple pack as it's the only way to get the first Mass Effect on PS3. Or I might get it on my shiny new PC, through Steam or Origin or whatever it is that it's on (can you log on to Origin on different computers and keep all your progress from a game after switching computers? I don't want to lose all my Spore progress! Long live the Tryextroplonk Empire!).
The ending is a bit rubbish from what I understand (basically amounting to red explosion, blue explosion or green explosion) but they released the free DLC for the proper ending to stop the bitching (thanks for that by the way, EA!) so that isn't so bad.
Alternatively I might just get my USB controller working properly and play some Metroid Prime and Conker the Squirrel's Bad Fur Day.

Man I just beat the game and it didn't disappointment in the slightest. I played the extended cut PC version, so maybe that changed things considerably from console experiences. I thought it brought excellent closure to the series.
I honestly don't think I've ever played a game with a storyline this epic, or characters so good you really cared about them. Very good writing all around and one of the best games I've ever had the pleasure of playing.
I picked up ME1 on the steam sale so I can play it all over agan and do things differently. I played as a combat engineer, but I want to try a biotic with the telekinetic abilities.
This game was the most cinematic experience ever on PC. Like being in your own interactive movie.
