I'm guessing you have to roll that number or higher, near the door symbol, to open a door with it, instead of it being an automatic success.

I've been talking about how badly I wanted a medieval Zombicide since we first got into the game! I couldn't be more happy.

Kingdom Death Fanatic. Dark Eldar: Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Dark Elves: Allegiance to the Black Crown. Also, Masons, Cygnar, and Legion of Everblight. All unnamed.

Holy gak that is an awesome username. Please tell me your army is called Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Morathi's Darkest Sin has some competition here for best handle, I think.

Ignore my comment from the previous page, I would be very up for a Medieval Zombicide, especially if they add in some character progression / campaign rules like they were playing around with during Season 3 development.

those weapon cards have some jewels above them, blue, yellow, orange, red, the orc cross bow has 2 of them "crushed" out unlike the short sword.

I wonder if this means you can only use or obtain those items at those particular threat levels?

Aye Medieval/fantasy.. Zombicide gets lots of monies from me.

Also my wave 3 arrived.. much happier with they 'all at once' format.. and a great horde of bits to sort through.

On a side note.. watching the Walking Dead finale last night.. (was away all week) and it strikes me apart from Phil = Rick.. we never really seem to have gotten any other WD characters.

Did AMC slap them with something.. as its a real shame there is no Michonne, Carol, Daryl etc equivalent figs. Hell with the amount of money the Kickstarters are generally raising I have no idea why they don't look into an official license for a character pack?

It's official Zombicide: Black Plague - KS end of May

Guillotine Games has announced Zombicide: Black Plague. This new stand-alone Zombicide game brings the zombie-killing to a new, fantastic world. Gone are the malls, hospitals, and prisons. Gone are the molotov cocktails, machine guns, and chainsaws. Gone are the riot shields and tactical vests. Instead, players will use short swords, chainmail, and powerful spells in order to stem the growing tide of the zombie apocalypse as they invade a fantasy world.

The game uses the same mechanics as previous Zombicide sets, but reworked to fit the new setting. With new scenarios, equipment (including powerful artifacts), characters (such as righteous paladins, stalwart dwarves, and powerful magicians), and location tiles (from mysterious vaults to village streets and everything in-between), it’s a whole new take on the original. There’s also new foes to vanquish! This time, there’s powerful Necromancers roaming the board who can add to the hordes ravaging the land. They’re sneaky, though, and it will take all of your cunning to hunt them down.

The game is set to hit Kickstarter around the end of May. Be sure to stay tuned here for updates, and check after the break for an early look at the box, cards, characters, and zombies!

Guillotine Games is back with a whole new take on its popular Zombicide series of zombie board games. Zombicide: Black Plague takes the zombie apocalypse into a fantastical medieval setting! The arcane powers of the Necromancers have unleashed a zombie invasion in the age of swords and sorcery, and it’s up to your group of straggling survivors to not only stay alive during these dark times, but to take back the realm and punish those responsible for the apocalypse!

Zombicide: Black Plague allows you take control of paladins, dwarves, knights, and magicians, wielding powerful swords, crossbows, and even magic spells to defeat the zombie hordes and its Necromancer overlords. The classic Zombicide rules have been revamped for this new incarnation of the game, while still retaining the nonstop action, tense atmosphere and easy-to-learn rules that made Zombicide a classic. Equip your survivor with equipment like chainmal armor or shields to defend against the undead, pick up spell books to perform fantastic enchantments, or light up a pool of dragon bile to create an all-consuming inferno of dragon fire!

Take on the zombie invasion from the medieval streets to secret vaults that create quick passages through the citadel (and often hold special artifacts). Chase down the elusive Necromancers to keep them from multiplying the zombie masses. And tackle a whole new set of missions through which your group of survivors will become the heroes of the land (or the last victims of the zombie massacre).

Stay tuned to the Guillotine Games Facebook page for more news about the upcoming Kickstarter campaign for Zombicide: Black Plague, scheduled to launch around the end of May.

Zombicide Black Plague certainly looks interesting, it certainly seems like they need a new direction with it. The question is, will it be retail or Kickstarter again (though I expect almost certainly Kickstarter)?

Though I couldn't think of who it was at first, I think you are right, the pistol/katana combo and the outfit certainly seem pretty specific...

Curses, yet another Kickstarter I can't possibly miss out on. Much like how my Forgotten King is arriving before Ninja All Stars closes, I hope the rest of my Season 3 pledge arrives before Black Plague goes on KS.

I mean, I'll back it regardless, because hot damn, it's like Zombicide D&D.

I don't want to seem overly negative, but I don't see the appeal of this at all. Leaving aside the fact that Guillotine said they'd be leaving Zombicide alone for a bit (there are now 5 proper boxed sets for sale, along with dozens of expansion boxes), this is:

1) A re-theme of something that is rather well-worn (modern zombies) into something also well-worn (medieval fantasy).

2) Incompatible with your existing Zombicide stuff, which could well be over $500 worth of product by this point.

3) Not going to have the complexity of options available from 3 full seasons of Zombicide.

4) They are launching a month after the previous Zombicide Kickstarter delivered, and people are still exhausting themselves on the new content, and in very close proximity to the other new KS Guillotine game (The Others).

Is the appeal predominantly that people like fantasy, and people also like Zombicide?

Zombie aficionados think of zombies as classic rather than "well-worn".

2) Incompatible with your existing Zombicide stuff,

Mechanically, those cards look very compatible. There appears to be a new mechanic requiring your character be a certain threat level to use a weapon, and one that requires rolling a certain number to open doors, but we've gotten no indication of the rules not alligning, in any catastrophic manner.

Thematically, Zombicide occurs in a movie universe. So bringing modern age heroes into the past is the just living the Army of Darkness dream

3) Not going to have the complexity of options available from 3 full seasons of Zombicide.

Which may not be a bad thing. Seriously, there are a gak ton of zombie types at this point. So much so that none of the official materials even try to combine them all at once.

Is the appeal predominantly that people like fantasy, and people also like Zombicide?

Umm, Yeah. Also, anyone who's ever played D&D, Heroquest, etc...

Remember to that a lot of what drew people to Zombicide season one was the miniatures. Zombicide is an awesome source of single piece zombies, that come in a wide variety of sculpts. Your average Dungeon Master can get a lot of mileage out of a box of Zombicide Black Plague without ever actually playing a game of Zombicide Black Plague.

I think the Jane Survivor from Rue Morgue is a pretty decent Andrea proxy, but I think CMON may be extra cautious in regards to WD. An official pack of the characters would go over well.

And this announcement just killed my plans to take a break from Kickstarter for a while. Others may be Z'd out, but Season 3 was my first jaunt with this, so I'm fresh to go. Do hope to see a not-AoD Ash version of Troy, maybe with his Zombivor being not-Evil Ash, and a winged Deadite or two.

I have season 1 and an extra set of tiles. Anyone have any missions for using all of them?

Although they sold extra tiles, and many of have extra box sets, I don't think any offiicial missions use more than a single copy of any set of tiles.

We have done homebrew ones that are super fun (16 tiles) but other people are so creative I was hoping there were some floating around. Thanks though!
