Caledonians are very brute-force. They have Tesium by the truckload, so they shove high-caliber rounds and swords into the enemy. They're also physically fit - their more specialized troops have higher PHY than others.
They may be wealthy, but the Caledonian Volunteers have lower BS than the rest. They're brute-force. Tons of Warbands, Berserk, and Irregulars.

The Kazaks are resilient. They may have the techy Muls, but they also have higher WIP than the other groups in their Kazaks. Their Veteran Kazaks have NWI and Mimetism. They have the only Line Troops in Ariadna. They are meant to hold the line and be stubborn.
Their Kazaks also have an available doctor for holding the line.

Merovingians lack the heavier armors of Caledonians and Kazaks. They also seem the lack the abundance of heavy T2, Autocannon, and other weaponry of the others. They do, however, have parachutists, camoflage, and mech deployment. I agree with CDK in that Merovingians have mobility.

---

As for the Americans in real life, their main pride includes the Navy and the Marines. Both are meant to hit hard, hit suddenly, and hit anywhere.

So we have the Minutemen and the Rangers. Minutemen are basic heavy infantry and essentially clones of the Moblots. Rangers, on the other hand, are also tremendously similar to the Chasseurs.
The two iterations show that the US has some good tech and decent training.

The Minutemen flavor show that the USAridnians have a thing for striking hard. But the Minutemen are also the 'elite' of the bunch. The Rangers' flavor also seems to show they're not for subterfuge and reconaissance unlike the Chasseurs. They're means to put out heavy damage where it counts.

All in all, the USAriadnian flavor could very well be decent mobility, high firepower, and medium numbers. Each member is a specialist that can get to the right place, do the job, and get out when needed. The big problem is finding a niche that doesn't overlap with the Merovingians.

Interesting you mention Navy. With Sci-fi you really don't think of Navy because why would you even think of it if they have space ships! But really ships would still be the most efficient way of moving goods from one place to another. Ariadana has plenty of ocean as well and possibly sea life for food. So if you are going to have all these things you need as least some sort of organized sea force. The US marines could have been re-made during the separatist wars.

I don't want cowboys with six shooters, but a recon model with a duster, maybe a modern take of a Remington rifle or a shotgun would be doable.

I would think that anything cowboy-ish would have to be a loner model. A unit of cowboys would look silly, but if one is used in more of a role that would have him operate alone and behind enemy lines...that might fit the cowboy aesthetics.

So a unit of "mounted cowboys" is out for me.

I need to pick up the "Oklahoma" character though.

Aye. The majority of the armed combat in the Infinity universe are small skirmishes, corporate warfare, border clashes, etc, most of the Navy would be spent protecting maritime shipping more than anything else. What better historical niche than the Americans or the British?

Their primary "power" in the fluff would make sense to come from Naval power or maybe even Spacefaring power. Hence you don't see much of the USAriadna in the skirmishes that occur most often in the universe. Thus, they could very well have "Space Marines" in the literal sense of the term.

If there were to be any kind of "cowboy" id' like it like this:

More of a nod to it than outright taking it. Really Father Lucien is pretty close it it already. Put a stetson on him and it would be obvious.

Well since they've already done it now then I'd say maybe Infinity should stay way from it.

If you are quite so set on a Marshal, you should look for them in a game where they fit the aesthetic, rather than hoping they will be shoehorned in to any game you like.

Anyway, this is one of my favorite miniatures in the entire Infinity range, never mind just Ariadna:

I'm hoping for something along these lines, at least for some of the USAriadna stuff.

I do love the Moramer, just his stance is a little... odd. I don't know why they put him in an almost-split like that rather than a more natural looking pose.

And he could use a cowboy hat.

Just some friendly joshing sir!

I would certainly like to see more Moramer sculpts, as that's the only one, and it's awesome, if a little odd on the stance.

More Minutemen should be first up though, they need it super bad.

And anyone else notice how HUGE the feet are on the Tankhunters?

I want one USING that awesome shield. The stance for one marching forward, shield up, gun overtop, that model just screams for it.

Well cool hats aside, I'd like to see the Air Force Pararescue. Parachutists with doctor/Engineer ability. Airborne, (Paratroopers with Mohawks!) An ATV biker. That's about it.

I've always pictured Ariadna (the pioneer ship) as being loaded not only with the people, but also with all-terrain vehicles and choppers for reconnaissance/exploration/patrols of the new terrain to be discovered in Dawn (the planet).

So, what would I expect from USAriadna? My fast answer is: anything that can get down of a Blackhawk or a Huey.

But the Browncoat flavour could be awesome. If it's done properly, it could be as characterful as the Japanese Sectorial army. I think JSA is the best combination of traditional Japanese aesthetics, with sci-fi technologies. And still you can easily spot them from Imperial Service, Nomads, ALEPH...
The difference between the Japanese tradition+sci-fi mixture and the American tradition+sci-fi mixture is that the Japanese one has been much more developed in media such as manga and videogames, so it's easier to find influences and do the desings. For the American side it would be harder, but I'm sure it can be perfectly done.

I'm eager to see USAriadnan and Kazak sectorial armies, I hope CB will make them some day.

I imagine an Ariadna TAG as more like the Lifter from Aliens. Or something more military, heavy and clunky but awesome. I imagine they could have as much armor as a Jotum, considering Tessium and all that. Drop an Autocannon on there and we'd be good to go.

I imagine a boxy looking two legged walker. No arms.

The Navy use ships. They have ships. In Space. Space-Ships, in effect.
