I just picked up the two player starter set and some Errants.
Assuming that they are made of the same, or similar plastic that GW models are, I reached for the plastic glue.
Lo and behold, this plastic absolutely DOES NOT respond to plastic glue like GW plastic does.
So, I had to switch to super glue which seems to work great.
However, I HATE using super glue for all the reasons super glue is great i.e. fast, permanent binding (Especially my fingers)
I wont say this is a deal breaker for me getting wildly in to Warmachine, but I'll certainly not be looking forward to the modeling nearly as much now.
Anyone else have similar experiences? Maybe some suggestions on a particular brand of plastic glue that works well on PP models?
Thanks!

PP use PVC, so no it is not the same plastic that GW use and Poly cenment will not work.
Super glue only I'm afraid.

Yep, it's not that kind of plastic. I've not found a glue that works better than superglue, I'm afraid. Although I do find you get more control and grip on the PP plastic with gel superglue. It might be worth giving that a go, see if you get less finger-sticking results.

Crap!
Ah well.
I know a lot of people like using super glue on all their models, but I've always loved the flexibility of plastic glue, and the near lack of cleanup.
Well, thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll try the gel.

I had the same problem with the now OOP Starship Trooper arachnid models.
Hate that type of plastic especially if you have to glue on 2 arms that hold a gun & only sit right at 1 specific angle.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!! |

Thanks for the heads up! That definitely would not have been fun to discover on my own. Sorry you had to go through it yourself.

That is EXACTLY what happens with the Knight Errants. And they are also about the size of a IG trooper.
Maddening!
Glad to help Lazarus, watch those sticky fingers!

GW metal glue is just superglue so yes it will work on PP plastics.

For the majority of the joins on the Errants/ KE, I suggest brush on superglue. gives much better control.

JB Kwik will work just fine on the larger joints and be much stronger than superglue.
