Thanks very much indeed for your kind words Brotheralexos!
Now onto something quite unusual: An actual update!
When I tried to use the Tartaros pattern terminators I noticed immediately that they were petite and that they were designed with my 5th Company in mind!!
I had just overseen the subtle (OK, not so subtle) hint of Forgeworld! When I had a closer look at the upper body I finaly got it! It’s all in the name!! Tart- aros! Even if any of the Chikkas had a DD bosom she would still fit in!
If anyone of you is looking for a female Terminator armour don’t look further!!
This is the best you might get and it is from Forgeworld…thus no puny blackshirt in the galaxy can stop you from using it in the store!
…now…if someone could convince them to produce some Tart aros power armour…
The Space Sharks just call it “Tart” as any girl that goes into battle with it wants to lay some really bad guys by the heels!
That's what trendy girls wear this fall/winter!
Size comparison with a standard Terminator and a standard Space Marine.

Not an actual update, but got something great the other day!
Ordered from anti matter games from their deepwar game a tecno shark in resin as i thougt it might fit with my Space Sharks.
When i recieved it the other day i was more than impressed by the design and the quality!
Will use it as a jetbike/bike standin.
And here a size comparison pic with Bob, a standard Space Sharks marine:
As you might have noticed i have left off the weapons at the main fin, as i want to put on the usual bolters. For special weapons i will use magnets and put them onto the underbelly.
I have just 1 problem, as i don't know how to represent a powerfist...might have to use a powerclaw from a techmarine rig? Guess it might work.
Will defo not use the included base, also it is rather nice, but i want to put it onto a standard bike base (just want to avoid any probs with other gamers).

I am now accepting commissions for any hobby project! I've been in the hobby since '92. Specializing in traditional brush methods, creating a gritty dark aesthetic. From single character models to entire armies. From individual terrain pieces to entire table tops. From tabletop level to masterclass level painting. From purchasing and assembly to leveling up your assembled armies paint job. If it has to do with the hobby I can do it! Hit me up and let's chat about your project! |

Thanks genom.cor, but i only didn't paint Librarians for that time. Instead i painted me some Marines and guard armies...about a thousand minis and more than hundred vehicles...
Doh! And an update, also only a small one!
Health sbotaged my life for some time ...
...until now, so i immediately used the chance and finished to put together the squad of female terminators for my Space Sharks and a great miniature from the past:
a Rogue Trader female adventurer, which was first described as female Space Marine!, yet in the tab they stamped SISTER!

As you can see i dremeled out the upper torso so that the head could fit in. I kitbashed the sarge so that i could use the great cape of Asterion Moloc.
I will paint her up as Librarian, as she already has the skull with horns on her shoulderpad. And also because the last one works great on the battlefield.

Well...found some time today to start with the Libby.

Tried to paint her a bit old school style, but i'm not completely sold to it...we'll see.
Just painted the armour, but i will give her one or two washes of blue just to unify the colours better and clearly some touch ups!

...and i finished paining her!Which is really fast by my standards!

As she is a Rogue Trader miniature she will be incorporated into the 2nd Company and being a Librarian into the Companies command squad.
Since i really suck at painting skin and faces i'm chuffed at how the face turned out!
Glad i painted her up as a redhead, it so suits her!
And i also based a squad, the 1st of the 2nd Company. All others will follow.

Well it wasn't to be, wanted to finish him the weekend.
So another Space Shark to join the ranks...
...easy, not yet! He's only missing his head. The rest is done.
Want to wait for those cool heads i ordered from Mad Robot!
So comming from the States across the pond that might take a few days.
That means this is just a WIP pic:
Looking at it am unsure if adding blood splatters or not, as i've never done anything like that and am hesitant
to ruin an otherwise good miniature. Hey, he's a Chapter Master after all!

Finally found some time and energy to put some miniatures together!
Recieved some great minis and accessories from Anvil Industries and some heads and weapons from maxmini!
The quality of the BLACK OPS is outstanding!!
The miniatures where completely flashfree and only one hole and that was under the sole of one of the sarge's shoes!
Also the accessories to customize the M-sries weapons fit perfectly!
I have already put together the whole squad and have still to add some of the great equipment you get with the squad. There will be a lot of pieces left for the bits box!!
Looking forward to put some paint on them on the weekend. Yet I'm undecided if painting them grey like the others or paint them in desert camo colours....ah decisions!!
What do you people think?
Well one had to volunteer for beeing test painted:

Only one wash and one highlight on the base colour....
Used the tamiya dessert yellow for the boonie and the webbing.
The pic on the right shows the "actual" colours as off now. All the other highlights/shades/weathering/pigments still missing.
I'm not completely sold to it, will sleep a night and look at it tomorrow again..hopefully satified.
Oh and yes Anvil Industry delivers those BLACK OPS with battle damage (bullet holes)!
(Hey, they're pros, they've seen it all even more than their other battle brothers!)

Well had some fun with the guns for the SEALS!!
Never put so much time into a "gun"...always used what i got in the kits, but this time i wanted to do something different.
Since i am used to customize the weapons in scale 1/35 modern military miniatures i thought why not give it a try! Especially with those great parts from Anvil Industry!!
Glad i did so, here the proof:
So first the who is who:
A: Anvil Industry Widowmaker Carabine
B: Maxmini M-series gun
C: Maxmini M-series gun customized with Anvil's accessories
D: Maxmini M-series gun customized with Anvil's accessories
E: GW standard bolter
F: Maxmini M-series gun
G: Maxmini M-series gun customised with Anvil's accessories
H: Forgeworld Heresy Meltagun with Anvils's accessories
1: Anvil's standard scope
2: Anvil's PEQ
3: Anvil's forward grip
To customize the Maxmini guns just cut the "grip" on the upper part of the M4s away and the magazine (red lines missing ), then use any acessory you like.
For example the scope. If you want to use them on Anvil's BLACK OPS you also need to cut the stock and grip where indicated.
There is however one miniature in the squad that comes with the gun already modeled at his side, since he will have a close combat weapon in his hand.
I dremeled mine away, but be careful if you do so as you might ruin the mini and eventually more...
For reference, where to place certain parts, just google M16 modern and i guess you might find some inspiration

painting weapons...and lastly faces, bases and pigments.
There is hope to finish them before I get the next BLACK OPS...

Another update!...thou not for the SEALS yet. They only need to get the bases done, otherwise they're finished!
Had a break from them yesterday night and tried to repair and put togehter some new RTB01 marines for the 2nd Company's Devastor squad.
It's only the sarge and the 5 "normal" marines of the squad first, the heavy weapons will follow soon.
Used some Forgeworld bits for the sarge. Sadly one can not see that the chainsword rests perfectly on the shoulderpad.
And most important of all a Mad Robot Miniature head!! The head with aviator sunglasses and the cigar is way too cool to miss!
Painting for those will start this weekend!
Just to prove that I really have painted those faces:
Please note that I fail at painting faces

Gee, it's taken some time, but it was fun! 't was a change to paint a squad in another colour then grey. Okay it's desert grey since they're Sharks.
And I feel my mojo comming back. Really enjoing now to paint the Devastor squad. After years of painting grey that was a healthy break!
To paint these Anvil BLACK OPS was a breeze and some more will follow! That's for sure!
Here you go with the pics:
And as I was elated to the max...also took some "action" ones:
Master Chief Hunokeli organising recon of Kasr Caverna, which led to the discovery of a hidden warehouse of the Astral Claws.

Hi there, after a long absence due to work and health I thought I might put up a little update.
Not having been able to use a brush I was looking trough ebay...and finally found the only miniature I always wanted...THE KING himself!!!
That must have been one of those moments of humour , now long gone and missed, of GW. He is even modeled in his heavier times...
Thus my Chikkas of the 5th Company will finally get the one and only captain worth leading them into battle!!
As I already knew that it could be only him I already included him in the finished Chikkas pictures:
I found the right guitar and micro with Zealot miniatures and am rather happy with their quality.
Hopefully I will finally be able to start some painting by next week

Hi, Long time no see.
So as I currently can't paint, I finally found some time on the Weekend to put together some of the new SM from GW.
My opinion: Didn't anyone over at GW have the decency to buy a box of Dreamforge Eisenkern troopers???
Compared to those the NEW GW minis are substandard (and that's a kind word as I'm a fanboy)
A lot of work to clean up the parts! Boh... money is made by selling These to dumbos like me...but it won't surely last if they go on like that.
Same over here when compared to small companies like Anvil Industry and Mad Robot Miniatures. The small ones are by far superior in quality!!
Now onto something nice:
New Boys for the Space Sharks SEALS!!
I really like the mix with Maxmini parts. The etched strap is from Trumpeter!
Also built a Devastor SQ with only missile launchers and am currently trying to finish this Dev SQ with only heavy bolters. Another Tac SQ is in the making and also one Sternguard (Alpha Strike) SQ. At the end I will have a complete SEALS army made up with Anvil minis! Hehehe
The quality of Anvil Industry is outstanding!! GeeDub should learn a trick or two from them!
And some allies
Used the obvious parts from GW and some great scale 1/35 parts. The sarges personal weapon is from Trumpeter, a H&K P7, as well as some night Vision Googles and the troopers weapon.
The most humble vehicle in all my armies, yet one of those that I like most!
see you!

They still need the decals and the bases to be done.
Will do the bases and the pigments when I've also finished the heavy weapons marines. Will go for an all rocket launcher devastor squad.
Really chuffed how the Mad Robot Minatures head works with the old RTB01 Marines!! Hehehe...much more here to be glued on!

A great new year 2014 to all of you!
And I even found the time to finish not only the last Devastator squad, but over 30 more marines! Yay!
Had put decals on 2 complete squads and had to seal and varnish the decals of all 41 marines and also do their bases!
Now about 50% of my 190 Space Sharks have some decent bases, more will follow wich each new squad!
Here some pics:
That's the pic of the finished heavy weapons of the Devastator squad. Only decals and bases missing.
That's the last squad complete now. Don't know if to do another Devastator squad for the 2nd Company, or do the converted Forgeworld Scout squad for the Sharks desert force??? Any idea?
The 2nd Tactical had to qwait for quite some years to finally get their decals and bases done...but that hasn't kept them from doing their duty!
And even some of the venerable guys from the 3rd Company got thier bases done. And also their decals sealed and varnished. Will have to do the others fast, as the decals seem to peel of after all those years.

So, just to keep this thread up to date - Gallery allways is!
So, a small update.
Started painting on the first half of the Rogue Trader Dev squad.
...aaaand since I couldn't go on painting I also put together the second half of that squad. Those are going to be used normaly in games with
the standard bolers, but can also be kitted out for example with these heavy bolters.
Since I tend to use "basic" heavy weapons I wanted to try something different. As you can get quite some special weapons and heavy weapons from
Forge World I wanted to use the current arms on those RTB01, so that I could swap weapons whenever I need them. So after some drilling and carving
I could put the arms in place. The RTB01 torso has pegs and the arms are slightly hollow at the shoulders. And as I wanted to Keep the overal Rogue
Trader look I also carved out the shoulderpads, as I think that people will notice the smaller pads with their slightly different shapes.
All heads are obviously from Mad Robot Miniatures.
As I asked for feedback on another forum I was immediately guided towards the issue of the missing necks on these. So I changed that and also went a bit further and added some shemags:
Was rather chuffed by the outcome.
Well after some time off here a WIP pic of the Devastators.
Please be aware that the weapons are interchangable. I have put magnets into the hands, so that the marines can be fielded in a lot of battlefiel roles.
Then followed some painting:
As you can see there's only a bit to do. Just bases and quite some weapons! Already have all heavy bolters, bolters and some special weapons prepared.
Will have to think about how to scratch built some underslung lascannons and multimelta. The plasmacannons are easy as I'm going to use the LEGION VOLKITE CULVERIN SET
from Forge World with some green stuff for that.
And also the second part of the squad is now finished. OK, 3 faces short of finished. After that only bases and pigments!
So hopefully I will find some time today for the bases and the squad is done!
So before starting on the bases I wanted to show you what I put together yesterday night while watching tv.
As I want to include at least a squad of LotD (Legin of the Damned) thatgot me looking t my old ones... Hmmm they look far to busy next to my Sharks.
So I thought that the way I took with the SEALS, the ones in desert colour, might be the right direction to take.
After rummaging trough my bitz boxes I found the mix that could work:
As I still like to put together minis in scale 1/35 I have quite some bitz. Helmets, holsters and molle pouches are all in scale 1/35. The "bolter" is from Anvil Industry,
as is are the gubbins on the lower back. The backpack is from the old metal Stormtroopers.
They look quite tough with 21st century parts and the segmented Champion shoulder pads. This tying them together to the already painted SEALS.
Thought that those might look rather good painted in black, thus recognizably distinguishable from the main grey Space Sharks force.
They're just a test. What do you think?

so went on building some more...
The Master Chief has a fab head from MaxMini, guess it's from the Junker head sprue. You can't see it, but he's got a goatee! A great freebee!
I built them so that I can exchange weoapons and arms as needed! Magnets in the special weapons gunner wrist as well as in the Master Chiefs wrist. And also a completely excangaeable left arm on the Master Chief:
Please open only if you're not offended by a certain sign with a finger....
And so started a building Marathon:
A lot more SEALS for my Space Sharks!!
All are Anvil Industry BLACK OPS miniatures, heads as usual from MaxMini. Again nearly every one with magnetized weapon Options. as to be able to adapt in the future. Used up more than 50 (!!) magnets with them all.
Dev squad:
1st Sternguard squad:
2nd Sternguard squad:
Will start basecoating them all on the weekend. as well as the Forgeworld sniper squad. All in Sharks desert grey!
Still undecided about the last full Anvil Black Ops squad. Will wait until I hold the Codex:Legion of the Damned in my Hands. Maybe I can convert them into an assault squad!
Please excuse the bad quality of the pics, as i had only the phone at hand today.

So just some WIP pics to Show that I'm working on them.
So chipps and rust are on and all the highlights done. I didn't touch the weapons, coats, lenses and faces as those will come next.
I want to use a camouflage netting-set for tanks in scale 1/35 over the coats...will see if it works
Will use this as my Desert Detachement Devastator Squad.
These little buggers are really a treat to paint and I'm glad I got those.

Long time no update...:(
Just spend a bit of time with the unit cards I want to use next weekend. I will put them all into heatsealed sleeves. Makes it far easier to handle during the game.
And as I'd like to have a laugh at games and not take it too serious here what I came up with:
Top left is the card with all infos of the respective squad and the other ones are for the backside. I'm as of now undecided if I'm going to use only one, or a mixture of all of them, just because I could!
At the moment I lean towards A/B/C....but that's not written in stone yet.
Now...hehe...
...made he first cards and am rather chuffed!
Had to make a new backside, as a friend pointed out that those female marines are not allowed since they're not GW products. Fair enough!
So found this great sign! That's spot on!
Now I'm really leaning towards the new one and the other sign, which I changed a bit to be in the same vein.
c&c?

Death-Dealing Devastator

Well...here the newest additions to my Space Sharks:
A captain for the 9th company.
As I didn't like the face I took a helmet from the DA command sprue.
This guy is going to be fielded as my Vindicare assassin in games.
And last but not least: a new Devastator demi-squad. The best use possible in Warhammer 40k for Anvil Industries Taurus weapon system from Afterlife.
cheers
