Hi,
I’ve been a longtime lurker and only registered last year to tell Space Corsair how awsome his sculpts are.
And now that I have those marvelous miniatures I will accompany the progress on them with this thread.

Well, how should I start?

I' ve been with it since the beginning, well since Rogue Trader days anyway.
Nevertheless I'm sitting here and thinking about adding a new thread to this forum. Space Marines, of course, as if GW didn't put anything else, with the exeption of the Imperial Guard, onto their shelves. But then again it's my 6th Marine army, please be not disillusioned, because that doesn't mean, that my painting has improved by an jota since I started to paint a citadel miniature, nor did my velocity ( or the absence of it).
My goal is to finish the 2nd Company –completely Rogue Trader models - of the Space Sharks by the end of the year. Only 30 Marines missing! And to start the 5th Company – completely female Marines – of Space Sharks!
Please be not suprised if my messages/updates are short, or nonexistent, for a week or longer, since my work requires a lot of travelling.

Oh, and most important of all, please forgive my spelling - I'm a lazy and illiterate italian

This is my army and i decide what i paint up and put into it!(OK whith the usual restrictions of the Codex:SM and IA books that is)

I have reached a point where the army is now really big (at least in my book), about 150 painted marines, and some armour, now I can add fun!
As the 2nd consists entirely of Rogue Trader marines and vehicles, the 5th will consist solely of female marines!

His sculpting is ace! He's got the proportions definitively right IMHO.

Lol. The regular Space Marine arms may not work out on those ladymarines unless they're being modeled as orangutans. Proportions are more than a bit off.

Damn man, you really make those Rogue Trader models look good!

Hi Veteran Sergeant, the proportions are good. When you look at the sergeant and the banner bearer, as Space Corsair sculpted the arms. I was only too impatient to wait for smaler shoulderpads and use the old RTB01 arms or the scout arms he suggested. So it's my fault they look this way.
And GW warned us! No women with the Space Marines as they are geneticaly not indicated to support it! Did they already know what would happen?

That is a fine, fine, fantastic army! LOVE to see those old RT minis getting top quality treatment. Brilliant work mate, all round. I remember those dreads from wayyy back when... just love it!

WOW! Thanks for that kind comment of yours!! I really like your thread to the max (longstanding lurker)! Really inspiring stuff!
(And that also comming from nobody less than the preferred enemy of the Sharks! )

Besides, it's easy to be effusive about such fine work. Keep it up min, I'll be watching!

I am also watching. There is nothing more important then the Imperial Truth. Damn the gods support science..which in this case supports power armored breasts. I agree however, you should work on the arms. Its nothing terrible i find them quite acceptable, but if you find something better it will work much more powerful to your advantage and avoid some flames. I add to your fire of creativity.



Side note: A closer look at the models says everything up to the elbow is great. You just need to make the for arm shorter. Not by much either. I would say maybe a thin washers amount, or two depending on what you consider thin. You want the hands to be able to stop around the hip not mid thigh. After that alittle sanding and perhaps green stuffing some sexy details in and they would look amazing. They look great as it is, i am just adding a fix for the long arms. Personally i always enjoyed girls with long limbs ;D

Also you can even further cheat the look and hide the off set by having the arms more horizontal attempt to avoid arms that go down stright out like the missle launchers arm. That way we the viewers cant see a compersion/judge the length of the arm with some where we know where it belongs. If see it along say holding a bolter we will assume everything is right. Like a couple of your more right side models look fine because their arms are horizontal waiting for the bolter and we can see the fact that the hands can touch the knees without the model bending at all. But we find it more acceptable then the missle launcher and others with arms around/near the knees.

Thanks cormadepanda! And especially for the great ideas on the arms! Since i have already undercoated this squad i wont be changing it. But the next ones will certainly profit from those ideas! Will put up WIP pics when starting on them. The idea with cutting below the elbow is really growing on me.

A great compliment to Space Corsair, they're really a treat to paint!

It will take at least to the weekend to see them done. And after that finaly my jetbikes! Really looking forward to them as i got my Dragon Forge bases the other day!!

Nah...had somebody commissioned to draw it! Wanted to have a logo for them as i think they deserved it, as you both did a sterling work!

Will post some close ups when i recieve my new photo set - hopefully this week. The standard is from the Warhammer Lizardmen army, but i can't remember from which model (it's been for several years in my bitsbox), i guess it could be from that special/dead slann mage-priest. Sorry.

I am loving every bit of your work thus far. It's not far off from what I want to do with my marines.

You should definitely share your painted up Chikkas with Space Corsair, I'm sure he'd love to see them.

As i have some time at hand i thought that i might as well built up my army and take a pic.
Took me about 1 1/2 hour to search them and place them!

Saw with joy (translate: horror) that i have painted up 168 buggers, i mean marines, in grey. As well as some armour!
Admittedly i have never calculated the points after i reached the first 1500 points, as i constantly add to this army.

The painting on this army is great, and I love the female Marines. Is that an old Armorcast Shadowsword in the background? Can you post some up-close pictures of it? I really like the old Armorcast armour.

Thanks Brotheralexos, it is indeed one of those doublekits with the Baneblade and the Shadowsword of Armorcast!! Great eye!!
I painted it with the hairspray method. T'was my first try at it and i am rather pleased with the outcome. And it was also my first try at those pigments.

Thou i have a warning!! The nose art is from an american black widow of late WWII, if you are too young, please yust skip the pics!
