What kind of list are you thinking about? heavy on hyenas? a shooty Veldt hound list? brute chargin' war-hogs?

My initial impressions were that Zabar would be an elite army of tough infantry buffed into scariness. So war-hogs and hyenas?

I'm gonna play-test a bit with stuff when I'm back in FL until I get that sweet new warband box.

Not to butt in, but is there anywhere in the UK one can get these minis? Cause..you know...badgers in armour are possibly the greatest thing next to fox shinobi.

hopefully I'm getting better.

Not yet, we're working on getting UK Distro, but haven't yet.

We do ship directly over there and have a growing number of UK players though.

No problem.

Keep in mind that our shopping cart software freaks out trying to calculate international postage, so figure out what you like and then e-mail us/pm me with a list and I'll get you accurate shipping costs.

Man, cutting these old school badgers off the massive metal base was interesting. I cut the center chunk out with my bench bandsaw. Seems extreme but it was FAST. Clamped the badger onto a piece of wood lightly, and just ran the saw right between his legs. Cut out the middle 1" or so. Then snipped around the feet. I made the first cuts on the bandsaw so that there would be relief while I was snipping. Snipping right into the metal could have gouged or stretched the legs and feet and I'm not into that kind of thing.

I'll have pictures of the painted Aquitar soon, I think. Fixed the mole on his base last night and started setting up to cast the bases for badgers and weasels. I also finished painting the first badger. Weasels are being started soon.

You're one of the last folks 'lucky' enough to have to go through that. The green was in good enough* condition that we were able to convert it to resin as a Historia Rodentia RPG mini. It lost the surfboard along the way.

*(One of the ears was damaged in casting, It has been given a transplant. If you pick up the new model, see if you can figure out which ear!)

I actually prefer the old model. The pose isn't as menacing but I think the armor is just much cooler looking.

That's pretty cool news, actually, that means I don't have to mix models if I get more for my army.

I've been interested in this game for a while, but does anyone have some good high quality pictures of the unpainted miniatures? Every paint job I see is lovely, but the detail looks a bit... iffy, so I'm wondering if the sculpts are poor.

Sculpts are just fine. I'm having a lot of fun painting mine. I'm pretty sure there are good pics of the models at on-the-lamb.com . They aren't like GW plastic detailed but the sculpts are characterful and evocative.

Edit: And besides, the game is quality and a lot of fun. That is really enough.

There are a number of pics of the greens in various states of WIP/Finished in our gallery.

Hrm, still not sold for a variety of reasons. If there was a UK retailer I'd give it a shot but until then I'll wait.

We're working on it, we should have UK/RoW distro before the end of the year.

Phew. Zabar is hard as nails. There doesn't seem like much that can take down 5 warhogs, at least not in a 50 pt aquitar toolkit. Maybe some DYNAMITE?

Had a lot of fun on location at On The Lamb Games Global Headquarters and Funtime Emporium.

I was running a lvl 3 mole tact with lvl2 entrapped and lvl1 endangered. 3 Badgers, med armor, 4 weasels with rifles.

Cyp kicked my teeth in twice. Hard style with ultra violence the first time. Second time I nearly didn't get humiliated.

This was allieved by a third game where I shot the poop out of some random guy and his Mare-Civitas. Honestly didn't feel good, not when you're shooting capybaras.

So what did we learn? That weasels are not the point and click solution you're looking for when it comes to shooting, that moles are tougher to kill than they look, and badgers should be ambushed always all the time.

I welcomed him to the Jungle.

But yeah, Gopher Engineers will destroy Shaka War Hogs. As will Mongeese, and Cannons.

Here is a pic from the third match (Zygrot vs the strange hobo)

zomg someone help me with these kiwis.

Putting the two half bodies together? Not perfect but okay, done. I guess I found a place for the head, small gap, bit o' green stuff no problem.

But body to legs? ARGH. How much GS did Gym have to use?

I built the display ones, didn't take much green stuff.

Then clearly I need to be shown the proper way to put these together.

I just clicked the banner to the site, and I like the concept of the game. Does this play like Warmachine or something?

We've got quickstart rules + paper minis up on WargameVault: Here.

Alternate Activations (I do everything with a unit, you then do everything with a unit, back to me, back to you until we've both activated everything).
Combat is D10+Stat VS D10+Stat (so a bit like WarmaHordes' 2D6+Stat)

Its pretty simple to get the hang up, with each unit adding their own special flare to what they do.

If you'll be at Templecon in a few weeks stop by and get a demo/intro game.

Thank you for the Info. RI is a haul for me for one weekend, but I will look further into the game in the next few months. I am a fan of using d10s, it works well in Command Decision.

Know anyone going to MarsCon?

I'm afraid I don't, but I do know we have a few players up around Northen VA, in the Washington/Baltimore areas. (Wehrkind, Gymnogyps, RiTides)

Do you have an LGS in the area? We might be able to stop in our way back down from Templecon on the 5th and run some demos for a few hours.

I would try out the following:

Eagle and Empire - Alexandria, VA
Game Parlor - Chantilly, VA
Victory Comics - Falls Church, VA
Games and Stuff - Glen Burnie, MD

There are others, but those are the ones I am most familiar with.

As you probably know already, this area has a lot of wargamers. If you secure a demo in one of those stores, I'll do my best to attend.
