Just use palm tree leaves like the latest stowage additions gives it a more realistic feel

@LDD: Not really sure if palm tree leaves fit in a city environment.

So i got a little update.

i've started the weathering on the turret, and this is how it looks right now.

i'm not really sure about the space between the hatches.. i wanted it to look like they have been moving around there ontop of the turret.
do you guys have any suggestions?

in overall, how do you think it looks? should i add somewhere or remove somewhere?

i also added a laser targeting thingy at the end of the barrel

and last but not least. i got bored so i made a new stand for a heavy bolter using the legs from the mortar. i really think it looks great!
and the best part is that it's no taller than the old tripod legs!

so that's it for today! stay tuned for more.

I think the weathering is done now. I can't think of anything more to do. maybe some Devlan mud (I bought up the rest of the stock when the new edition came out) and make some grime on the rivets?

This is how it looks right now anyway..

and with the crew.

so tell me what you think! i'm happy with the result. well i may have overdone it a little... but since the hatches was so overdone and i didn't bother to repaint them i just kinda made it easy for me.

i love that turret... the weathering looks very cool... has so many used feel to it... like star wars meets fallout... you can almost feel the sractched and weatehred and peeled paintjob on the hull!!!...

laser device on the barrel reminds me a bit of the "drive me closer, i want to hit them with my sword meme....

and the new tripod is good... i have done something similar... i made a quadpod so to say with mortar tripods... loks very cool too...

I will also likely weather my own Baney once ready, I want to weather the decals as well, so am waiting to finish stuff first.

looking forward to see that. i like the way you weather your stuff!

I've had a really eventful week and haven't had much time to play around with the Baneblade. first there was alot to do on the job.
then i managed to get a couple of days off to go buy a new car since the old one was, well. old.. and to small really.. and that itself was quite an adventure. i drove 2000km in 30 hours without any sleep. i didn't drive it all in one go though. i had like 4-6 hours of rest for like breakfast, lunch and looking at the car..
and now afterwards i'm happy i made the trip because the car is great!
and when i got home from that i slept 6 hours before it was time to kidnap my dad for his stag party (is it called that? ) mom and dad is finally getting married after 25 years engagement.
that was ALOT of fun! and well, the day after that i was in no condition to make any progress what so ever to the bane.
and yesterday my dad scared the living gak out of me! my mom called and woke me up on the afternoon (i'm working nightshift so i'm sleeping on the days..) telling me that my dad had flipped his truck in the ditch. and that he was on his way to the ER in an ambulance. the truck looks like trash but he walked away with only minor injuries and they sent him home after a couple of hours.

so yeah like i said. i've had quite an eventful week.

i got a small update for you though! well. it's more like a teaser-

this is what i'm working on

the one who manages to guess what it is may take a cookie!

and yeah this is what the truck looks like now..

the ditch is not like an ordinary "V" or"U" shaped ditch. this one is a slope and although it can't be seen in the pic it's kinda steep.
and the reason he flipped is because some scumbag driver passed really close to him and just as his cars butt passed the trucks front he steered back right infront my dad. and since it was really close my dads natural reaction were to steer away. so he did that and avoided the crash with the car but when he looked in his mirror he saw the trailer going into the ditch. so he tried to steer in the other direction to make the trailer move back up onto the road but the trailer flipped instead taking the truck with it.

so that's what happened. if my writing makes any sence.

and nope. it's not a mine sweeper.

and i think the pics below speak for themselves.

and if you haven't figured out what it is there on the pictures i can tell you.

it's a Baneblade firing it's smokelaunchers! i thought it would be cool to make that. and when i found this tutorial about how to make explosions i just had to try!
iv'e never seen anyone try it eighter so..

Firstly what an arse hole thank god your dad reacted as he did as it could have been even more serious outcome, your explanation makes total sense I didi not realise that another vehicle was involved.

Hows this left your dad as to work ? Is the vehicle his own or company supplied ? I know a lot of HGV drivers have their own rigs so this could end up costing him thanks to some idiot.

Never in a million years would I have guessed that one clever idea though, will you be adding a paint scheme at all and if what kind will it be ?

That's awesome Didde! Will you then use clump foliage or something similar?

yepp, and then you haven't heard the worst part yet.. the idiot that made him flip just contiuned despit the crashing truck in his mirrors..

the truck is company supplied thank god. he had his own company when i was a little kid but that whent to hell since the truck just broke down all the time... and my family ended up with millions in debt.
but this is the last mounth he's paying back all that. only took them 17 years...

like i said it's company supplied but he was the only one driving that one. so right now he stands without one. but his boss can and probably will buy a new one soon anyways..
so my dad is just walking around at home rehabilitating himself.

and yeah i'm quite happy with that idea

dsteingass wrote:That's awesome Didde! Will you then use clump foliage or something similar?

indeed i will. the tutorial i found is the one that Digits made. and i saw you've been on his thread.

Thats the worst thing about road accidents the ones who causes it always escapes free of injury and pisses of then everyone else who ends up in the aftermath are left to deal with the outcome.

Well at least he has not got that initial finical worry to deal with, although having to pay for the last 17 years is just as bad

Lets hope he is fit and back to work soon as then

I was wondering if you would add clump foliage to it, will this be to all the wire then ?

You got a link to the thread by the way ?
