Seeing the whole dragon, his head does seem quite big, and it isn't a good sign when the photographer seems to be holding the miniature to stop it from falling over.

Maybe it will be stable enough when it's transferred into the bones material. It's pretty light material compared to the current dragon (which looks to be 75% green stuff).

To be fair, 90% of the models I have need to be glued down so they don't fall over. It doesn't seem odd at all to me that an unfinished green needs a bit of supporting. For that matter, I think it looks like the wing isn't attached at all and he's using the backside to give leverage enough to hold it in place without obscuring the model.

... However: the head is awesome, the body is good, but they don't fit with each other. :(

The dragon is not fixed to the scenery it's standing on.

The models proportions are actually look perfect compared to the concept art.

you're right. it's actually beefier than the concept art because the concept art has almost nothing connecting the front and back halves of the dragon.

It looks awesome to me. My only complaint is that I have to wait a few more months before I get mine.

The sculpting looks so smooth. Normally at this stage you can still see tool marks but not on this one! It does look a little unbalanced but I think the angle of the shot has something to do with that.

You're right, but I think there is more sculpting to be added done for the front of the neck/torso and possibly the back as well. Notice how the neck plates just sort of end with nothing below? I think more will be added there.

The pic makes me very glad I didn't order him. Not because of the sculpt ( I think it will be pretty cool when finished) but because it's so large it is virtually useless for tabletop wargaming, and I'm not the sort to display dragons on my shelves. So, if I ever got around to painting it (and if it's not used for a game I probably wouldn't), it would just sit in a box.

I have an ebonwrath and the small dragon pack coming and that will likely be all the dragons I'll ever need.

Just a typical heroic scale mini where heads are almost as big as torsos... that said, I'm very glad I ordered one.

Really? I assumed the hand was holding the as-yet-not-attached wing in place.

Would guess the issue is more relating to the figure not being done yet as opposed to an intrinsic problem with the balance. Once it is done - I would guess that it will stand upright on its own.

Regarding the artwork/sculpt - if you look at the concept it is fairly dead on (the head might actually need to be a little more pointy and long). The ribcage and torso are tiny on the artwork and it is reflected on the sculpture.

Once I get mine, I will probably extend the sternum much like you find on real life birds to give the illusion of an enlarged attachment point for the pectoral muscles to power the big wings. Granted, that would probably use up half a stick of GS given the size of it - but I think that should be enough to bring it into balance with what I think it should look like.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

That's correct, they've also sent the above items out to Canada too

The rest of the world will get everything in one shipment with the Bones minis due in March

That is, indeed, a lot of minis. I hope that they figure out a better way to ship them that in individual plastic bags. That would be a lot of garbage.
