New World Eaters build list based on the new CAL!

Below is my new "build list" and some fluff tidbits for it, because that is how I roll!

[75]

Fiend

Javelin
TL Lascannon, Multimelta
[75]

Heavy:
Kulvir, the Argus-Eyed
A tenacious warrior known for a keen eye and uncanny marksmanship, Kulvir battled as a veteran War Hound during the Great Crusade. He was immolated in phosphex during the compliance of the Harax system. After being recovered barely clinging to life, he was interred in a sarcophagus, which was fitted into one of the few Deredeo chassis issued to the War Hounds (and later World Eaters). It was noted that his preference of a boltgun over the more common chainaxe earned him the right to the new, rare chassis, his kills with the weapon renown among a Legion known for their martial prowess in hand-to-hand combat. Since, he has proven a walking bastion and symbol of the Legion before its complete descent into madness, though unlike Lhorke and many others, he was never one to resist the tides of change.

Deredeo Dreadnought
Armored Ceramite, Aiolos Missile Launcher, Arachnus Heavy Lascannons
[290]

Ravager

Spartan
Flare Shield, Armored Ceramite, Dozer Blade
[375]

Red Vandal

Sicaran Venator
Armored Ceramite
[210]

[3000]

Oooooof! That hurts my wallet, but hey, goes with the hobby. Sad I lost the Typhon, pumped I get to run Assault Squads and Javelins! I think the list looks fluffy and entirely competitive!

First up, worked on some Camo Cloak & Bolter Scouts this weekend... and holy crap, GW. Really? How are these kits not compatible?! UGH. It was just such a chore making things work. Did a Power Fist via an IG one and clipped up the ML for one guy too. Bases are simple, rough-urban style.

Got my Skaarac going - lots to pin and fix with heat before I can get to priming and stuff. He is big, but not THAT big. Still a nice centerpiece for my Skullfiend Tribe. I think I may do black skin, just to be a snowflake. Not sure.

And some of the FW Open stuff that caught my eye (thanks, Battle Bunnies!):

Cool looking Household. Wonder what their deal is!

DO WANT!

So absolutely disgusting. The rules for these make this Deredeo into 290pt of KILLS ALL THINGS.

I have been building a custom Bloodstoker with a mix of the AoS Starter one and an Exalted DB body I had no plans of using.

He should add some needed variety to the army. Plus, he can look at the other Bloodstoker and be like "Do you even lift, bro?"

Thanks! It was easy. Just cut the ears off the original and pinned/glued on the top knot (sans some absurd spinal parts) from the EDB.

Had to greenstuff the back of it to be seamless, since my dude has no ponytail anymore. I thought having the same helmet and chestplate would unify them as Bloodstokers, plus the whip, of course.

The pic is all washed out, but a vast chunk of that whip arm's underarm musculature was sculpted in greenstuff. Same with the other underarm. I am trying to get better at Green stuff sculpting, so I can add more life to future projects.

Ferocious start, look forward to more of your Ogres If it makes you feel even better about the army, the fatties are stupendous in AOS, easily the best edition of Warhams for the army (and I've played them since the 7E book first dropped).

Annnnnd now to download Prisma

Yea man, I hear they are brutal. I am waiting on the Gutbuster supplement to drop before I get too far in. I want to see how their fluff has evolved since the End Times. Tentatively, my Ironskin Tribe was led by their Slaughtermasters/Butchers into the Great Maw, which spit them out into the Eight Realms (probably realm of Chamon). Unless GW gives me a better way to segway my old tribe into the new Mortal Realms, that works. Otherwise, I might just take on a new tribe, since I have yet to paint them anyhow!

And yes, Prisma is insanely addictive. My Instagram last week was like half Prisma posts of old drawings and models.

Working on my Brass Stampede... plus, a squad of Bloodreavers from the Starter all assembled.

This encompassed most of my Saturday, since there was just a whole lot of work cleaning up those damn Skullcrushers. But I do love those models.

And now that I have spent some time going over Gutbusters and Beastclaws, I realize I have some purchases to make and some modifications to do.

Generally I need to go from Ironfists to second CCWs for my Ogors and get a few Thundertusks and some Mournfang Great Weapons (used mine for Ironguts). Sooooooo yea... No army is ever truly finished, amirite?

This weekend I will be updating my blog with my Skullfiend progress and I will be sure to post some pics here, too.

Oh yea, with the Skullfiend Tribe paint scheme, should look pretty awesome! (See below!)

And the rules are a nice help, since I wanted those models in my army anyhow, it rewards me for taking 9 and a Lord.

+3 to Charge rolls is huge for them and with a Hornblower, I am at 2d6+4" on top of my 8" move, so a good ~19" reach. Just got to get in and kill a unit first.

And auto-d3 mortal wounds for Murderous Charge is nice! That is a lot of mortal wounds and punishes my opponent if they cluster up, too and with the base size the Skullcrushers have, I can really spread this out.

Been so busy, I have had no time for the hobby! I am pretty pumped to have a chance to get working on this army again. Plus, going to take my Ogors out of storage.

Also, because I am a dork (and at work), I started getting an idea of paints I need! It is some legit MSPaint work, for real.

And here are my updates, now that I have a chance to post them here!

Here is the guy with the normal banner.

So I gave one guy a back banner, instead of having three dudes all carrying the same standard. I have snowflake syndrome and it shows. Each of these is unique to one another.

The heads of the hornblowers are unhelmeted because how else can they blow the horns? Also, I used two of the way cooler Skullreaper heads because... snowflake.

And here is a pic of my two Khorgoraths. The one with just Tamiya putty needs some greenstuff work, but I love the skull heads from the Necrosphinx. The horns give them a more Khorne feel, imo.

Anyhow, thanks for looking. More updates throughout the week, I hope.

The AoS starter doesn't really leave a lot of room for customization... so I have to do it the old-fashioned way! Cutting, greenstuffing, and using bits!

These Blood Warriors are now sporting twin axes. As much as I like how Gorefists look, these are just way better. The Skullreaper bits are getting a lot of secondary use in my army right now!

Also, you can see I filled the stupid-looking mouth in the Champ. I really, really hated that.

Started in on my Wrathmongers - here are the first 5 of my 15 that will comprise my Bloodstorm! These were more-or-less standard builds, though I filled in the spot for the 2nd arm on the one guy, because three arms is just dumb looking. My guys are more mortal than mutant. And pinning was basically mandatory on the Wrathmonger hands - I can see them breaking off on the reg in some foam just from odd tension and shifting. Hopefully, those chains don't break over time as they would be a pain to repair. The next 10 will be more unique looking as I start mixing and matching parts!

Also, gaps all filled and greenstuff all done on the Khorgoraths! Here's hoping GW releases a stand-alone kit of them with some variety, because I won't get more until they do... but I want more!

Nice builds. It really is frustrating making Bolter Scouts with the cloaks that I just get Recon Marines from FW. More expensive but much less rage inducing

Thanks!

My client wanted to be WYSIWYG with his army, so I had to suffer making Cloak & Bolter scouts. C'est la vie! At least my own Scouts, whenever I finally get to my Marines, will be CCW/BPs and Cloak-free.

Five more Wrathmongers done. These guys could use a few more leg options. Really bummed it is just the base 5. C'est la vie. Made this batch different and the next one will be different as well.

Also, I will post some pics later on of my second unit of five Blood Warriors kitted with twin axes. Modding the Starter models is a pain, but hopefully they look good. I need to buy a few boxes of the normal ones when I get a chance.

War for Tots 2017 is around the corner and I am brainstorming my charity auction donation!

Right now, it looks like I will be doing an Imperial Space Marine LE model in either Deathwatch colors or the Mentors Chapter colors. The idea this year is that they are stalking the sewers of a Hive for some unseen prey.

Like last year, I am going to use a wooden plinth, but this year it will be getting a huge notch cut out of it that will serve as the sewer wall. I will be setting the base into that and he will be wading through nasty water at the bottom.

Pics on this project to follow when I go from concept to execution.

I did pick up some Mentors decals and honestly, as cool as that Chapter is, I might make a contingent of them for myself afterwards!

I am going to be getting at least one set of these poseable Knight legs soonish. This means that out of my... 11 Knights? I think I still have 11 unbuilt.

Anyhow, out of my collection, I can repose TWO Knights from this one set. I can leave one of the originals in place and just add half of this set to another, while adding a stock leg to this set-up on another or some such.

I most likely will try out some guitar wire to make up for the lack of the tubes/wires.

If anyone reading this has used them, hit me up and tell me how they are!

I have officially starter this years War for Tots Charity Auction donation model. Going to be doing an Imperial Space Marine of the Mentors Chapter. I was going to do him stalking in a sewer, but really just didn't have the stuff for it. Opted for a more generic "ruins" approach, because it will be more doable. I don't mind a challenge, but I got to be realistic and not go overboard on it. That being said, the round plinth will be home to the model - the big base anchored down, the small one removable for gaming.

I have already clipped and tweaked it, but this was the pic that made it up on Instagram yesterday. New pics to follow as progress gets made. For you Instagram folks, hit up #warfortots to see the progress (or follow me @oldhat02).
