How many of this set would be considered too many? I was thinking of picking up 3 or 4...

Three sets would make for a great Sturmkompaine. Lots of German AT guns for the Pak front. And you could easily switch off to a StuG Battery and add Sturm platoons.

I've already got the V3 rulebook but I intend to pick a copy up anyway. The Germans alone would cost more than £45 in metal/resin.

Well i just got a little present from BF. a plastic sherman, firefly, stug and a sprue lf inf. All i can say is that we are in for a treat. The infantry detail is really crisp in plastic and they are just sturdier than PSC.

In reply to above, You get a HMG (may be a LMG), bazooka team, and mortor for the allies. As for germans on the sprue i have you get 2 shrecks.

Wait, what? Is this an estimate on what'll be in the box?

Cause you can see that on the back. Germans will be Grenadier HQ and Panzerschreck team, 2 Grenadier platoons, 3 StuGs, and a anti-tank gun platoon with 2 Pak 40s. The British will have 2 HQ Sherman Vs, 4 Sherman Vs and 2 Sherman Fireflys which will form 2 platoons, and a platoon of allied US paratroops.

With the allied models in this box you can compile two lists:

Guards Armoured Squadron (Hells Highway book) and
UK Armoured Squadron (Flames of War Rule Book, 3rd Edition (Bundle))

No MG teams with paratroopers (in the box), only Rifle / MG teams (6 bases)

Lamrak, should not HMG teams be placed on the middle base?

There's supposed to be 33 US figures in the box:
Command on a Small base- 3
Bazooka on a small base- 2
60mm on a medium base- 3
6 R/MG Infantry bases on medium bases, 4 each =24
That's 32 so I'm not sure where the last infantry figure goes!

HMGs go on medium bases as noted, but it would not be possible to buy a US HMG in a Brit Armored List.

Hi all.
My list was just a guess from the pictures posted up.(I just wanted confirmation.)

I have amended my list based on posts so far.

I wondered if the bazooka team was a 4 man squad 2 bazookas and 2 loaders on a medium base.And the 60mm mortar 2 crew on a small base.(To get 33 figures?)

Knowing excatly what infantry is included would help people draw up lists before they buy the great starter set..

As I am rather excited by the new boxed set!

So we know the release date, we know whats inside and we are all excited!

I saw a post on the official forums the other day that confirmed that almost all of the plastic contents of this box will be made available later on as seperate purchases. The exceptions are the armored vehicles. For now, BF is apparently planning on sticking with resin hulls. But the infantry, guns, and even the rocket will apparently all be released later on. For the rocket, they're planning on adding some additional elements to whatever package they include it with.

The release day has been pushed forward to October 27th 2012 by Battlefront due to some delays in the logistical process.

Its pretty much confirmed that the contents will be released seperatly later on as well.

I had a look at the contents of the box in my FLGS. The infantry look very nice up close.

I'm quite interested in the V1 Objective marker, looks fun and actually not too bad

Mine turned up today. Has anyone else got theirs yet?

First impressions are good, the infantry looks lovely close up. I may assemble them and post some pictures tonight, but I'm off to see Skyfall with some friends so I may not get round to it till tomorrow.
