Best day so far since day one in actual pledges. Almost the highest number of new pledgers today. Might start to see a little more movement as we get closer to the free additional items.

I like the look of the Mortis. But does anyone have thoughts on what it could be used for in 40K? A chaos titan of some kind? If this makes it to $90,000, I'd probably get a Mortis if I thought I might be able to use it for something in 40K.

@Albino: You could do what I am planning to do... just make up rules for it! Or run it as a chaos stompa!

At the price it'll be worth, and the minimal height difference (well, at those scales), You could own a full lance of chaos "warhounds" for the price of a single one, with the Mortis. Since one of the stretch goals seems to be a left arm gatling-cannon-of-doom, then I assume the right arm will also be available as a separate order at one point.

But you'd have to play Apoc, not 40K. Unless...

Mark, not to put any pressure on you, but is there a way of seeing tidbits of the Iron-Core fluff or rules? I want them rules! All asked respectfully, of course.

If you look at the comments section over on the kickstarter, Mark posted a link to his in progress Rules PDF sections.

He has them broken into their respective chapters for review and feedback.

I downloaded them so I can go over them myself.

You will have to register for his forum to get to them though.

I'll get them tomorrow, I think they should be an interesting read.

Looking forward to the "Iron-Core game development group" access that most of the pledges will come with... folks who are invested are the best folks to have giving input, imo . I had joined the forum on his site a while back and looked at some of the development, but I imagine it will pick up quite a bit after this.

Although I am buying the stormtroopers for use in 40k currently, I would welcome an alternate system that they could be used for! I think pretty much everyone feels that way, too

Less than $200 from hitting $35K, when it was at $30K this morning!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And it's already well over $35K! More than $5K in one day, that's a sweet pace for still being in the first 1/3 of the campaign!

Wow man congratulations. I've followed you since it was a concept.
I must say you guys have a really cool look. the multi part seems to fit well lots of bits. I think you guys might get some of my money.
Those new troops look sick.

Dude where can I see the rules? I'm down to help test it if you got NDC sign me up.

I was looking at the art in you kickstarter... I'm drawn in very interested. Will you be able to play with out the giant mechs? Not too keen on those but the troops are beyond awesome

If the world is going where it seems to be from the look of it you guys might be on to something new. New is nice so are clean plastics. We should talk.

I'm Khorne-ifying the one I'll get, mixing the rules for the brass scorpion and the lord of battles (That is a good base, I think, datasheet is free on Gee dubs site).

Something like 700-750, 4 sp, no voids, bs3 ws 4, possessed, 14/13/12, probably the "rage" rule that khorne superheavies have, a TCCW, the lord of battles gatling cannon, and some sort of molten brass flamer from the two nozzles either side of the head =D

Still very much a work in progress.

@Sigmundr: Interesting using the Brass Scorpion as a base. the size is about the same... and really a daemon engine on 2 instead of 6 legs. I like the idea.

Mhmm, It would be more daemon engine and less corrupted titan, being that it is a radically different pattern. Depending on how things go, I want a mortis one for the obvious nurgle conversion.

If the mortis comes... it will be the HUGE THING in my Dark Angel Army. A mini chaplain titan.

The Crusader is going in my Grey Knight army, with the 5.5" one I already have (or maybe... just a cool model)

Right now I have an agreement with WGF for the distribution end, as they have the staff and facilities to deal with this stuff I dont see the advantage in doing it any other way..

This stuff is going to end up at my local store. They carry WGF's full line.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Sounds like a good idea! With DA and CSM coming out for 40k, it's definitely a perfect time for the Mortis! Looking great to get there for 90K, too, for the full-size one.

Edit: Now over $37K! It's picking up speed . I also just noticed that apparently this was a 30-day kickstarter, while some others seem to be 40 day. Not sure if one or the other is better, but it seems like longer Could be better... although I don't want to wait any longer than necessary for this, obviously the more folks who get it on it and help get more units/options made in plastic, the better!

It seems to be a delicate balancing act. Too long of a kickstarter might chase people away, too short and it might not get funded or hit stretch goals. Also, they found a positive correlation between overfunding and delays in getting pledge rewards out. I think it was kicktraq or some other site that ran the study.

@Rtides

Yeah, I'm in for two of the four our gaming group is ordering right now and I'm hoping one of them gets to be a mortis.

@Thread

Almost to the cooler, more sleek power plants!

Sidenote: Mark, for the 4.5" is there going to be a mortis style on that one too? The skull head on the smaller model would probably help it sell like made.

That can't be good for you. That coolant is some nasty stuff.

After reading about the whole WGF, DG debacle on the interwebz last night, I'm not sure I want to take a chance on those UAMC marines.

I am excited for stretches if the trending continues. Left hand claw, 15mm Mortis, command troops, heavy troops, APC... All would be awesome if it keeps going! What I love about this are the true plastic, mult-part, mult-pose models with tons of extra sprue options, that honestly only GW has done well before now. Dreamforge doing it could start a whole new trend, and with their lineup, if APC and heavy troopers eventually get funded, my Entire army could be Dreamforge!

Hi everyone... I just wanted you to know I am up to my ears in work trying to get some things done for the project and a special item as a thank you gift for all of the supporters.... The latter was not planned and will take some work to get it done.

Sooooo. I may not be as available as I am now to answer questions and chat, but I will check in as time allows.

All the best!

You can find some of the advanced rules in PDF form on my Forum: http://www.dreamforge-games.com/forum/index.php?board=15.0 just look at the bottom of the first post in each of these sections to see the small .pdf link (sorry about all the hoops to join the forum, I get about 50-100 spam bots attempting to sign in each day....

In a nutshell here is where I would like to take this.

Core (fast play rules)= Beer and nuts game, fast to set up, fast to play with enough variation to keep it interesting.
Plug-in rules (more complex) Each plug in addresses a rules section that is completely encapsulated. I.e. you can add the section with unit formations or leave it out, your choice. You choose what plug-ins you wish to use with your gaming group.
By going this rout (assuming I can balance each plug-in) you can have a game that is as simple or as complex as you like in the areas you like complexity.
Example: You like WWII tank sims. You opt to use the “Armor Penetration plug-in” but could care less about infantry, so to hell with using the “Formations plug-in”. The point is to allow YOU to tailor the game you want to play, I simply provide rules and a framework to guide you.

Welcome aboard. I had a resin Crusader, and let me say it was amazing. Since the plastic model is directly based on the resin model Im sure you (and everyone else) will be quite pleased. The fact that I will be getting 2 plastic Crusaders for 1/2 what I paid for the resin is amazing. With prices like this Ill be getting all the other versions as they get released, even the Mortis, which is probably my least favorite.

I followed some of the development about a year ago when the resin Leviathans were released, and some of the rules were quite unique and cool.

Agreed about the high quality of the resin kits, and hard plastic will be even better And much cheaper! I still have my resin ones, which is why I am in for the equally amazing looking infantry . May ponder head swaps for the helmets, but I am in love with the unhelmeted ones!

Plug-in rules modules sound like a really cool idea!

Let's blow past the stretches so we can reach an APC and those awesome heavy infantry
