I love these current models and I am looking forward to future releases in the years to come. The things I am most eagerly awaiting include a Nova Cannon arm, the Gabriel Leviathan, and and armored APC.

Can we get some assault rifles? You have sub machine guns and lmgs, but no standard weapon, maybe model it after a sg 44 or something completely new.

The long weapon is the Rifle version. Adding the Drum mag turns it into the LMG version.

I hope that Shadokesh reward hints that we are looking at other factions. This, I think, will be crucial to getting Iron Core off the ground, rather than DFG being another provider of 40K IG count as.

Gee-dub figs could even be used as Iron Core count as... imagine how funny that would be.

I am defiantly feeling the sort of Jin roh theme to the troops , I love it.
Between the standard troops and the expansion pack the troops seem to have an immense level of build options.

Let me ask you guys. How important is it to you that the models are so customizable and come with so many parts? Does that up the value of the kits for you.

I know for me it’s a deciding factor. But does it help give you guys a push to purchase?

Dreamforge's website has information on the fluff at: http://dreamforge-games.com/game.html

Interesting read as I recall (it's been a while since I read it last though). It's worth noting that Mark is a one-man show so if there's any typos...well, you've seen how busy he is. Also I'm sure if he asked he'd have a bevy of volunteers to help with those things as well.

It's from this update:

Dreamforge Kickstarter wrote:The rewards and where they appear in the project are planned so that as we reach each new funding goal, I can get to work on the next item and afford to pay (at least in part) for the hard tooling to make these items. This is a carful balancing act between my available credit and the estimated tooling costs for these rewards.

Right now, I am at the full extent of my available credit…

Wai Kee Hui, the owner of WGF and manufacturer, is as excited about this project as I am. He has graciously offered to produce a Kickstarter special item as a way to say thank you to the supporters. I am working on the art for this right now and hope to post something up on the project page in the next day or two.

What is it? All backers at the $20.00 level or above will receive a 28mm figure of a Shadokesh warrior, the mortal enemies of the Eisenkern faction. The Shadokesh will be the next faction launched so that you all will have an opposing force for your Eisenkern Stormtroopers and Leviathan mechs.

I will go into more detail when I upload the art for this Kickstarter exclusive.

All the best!

Mark Mondragon

The Shadokesh sound cool, although all I'm going off of is the name . Can't wait to see the concept art!

Also, a free figure is a great way to get people excited about the new faction . So that is awesome!

Also, as to multi-part, customizable, plastic models as you mention- that is the primary reason I am so excited about this Kickstarter. GW does plastic so much better than everyone else, due to the upfront costs- but this could be a game-changer. That's why I'm so pumped about this one, not just for the rewards (which, admittedly, are the main reason I'm contributing- to order models!) but for the direction this company could take, influencing other minis companies to do the same. Hard plastic is just so much easier to work with than anything else! And cheap enough to produce to make including loads of extra options, like those shown on the troopers, feasible.

To me, having them customizable is really important, I can't stand having little tin men in a row. That is why I gave up on WFG shocktroops, and Cadians are just boring. I'll come out and say it, I am willing to pay a premium for customization.

There is a concept art image on the Kickstarter, completely at the bottom. I'll probably only get Eisenkern, but a fully fleshed out universe is important.

I've been trying to register for the forum, and I know Mark probably runs those too, but if anyone has the pdfs, can anyone PM me so they can share them? Please?

Cliff's notes version:
Dhar-Hazier: Sociopathic, orks with hybrid tech/organic tech base.
Kraggen: Not sociopathic. Seem to be Force-based.
Shadokesh: Sociopathic, tech-based hive mind race.

And are the Germans/Hapsburg the only ones who have survived the onslaught of all this goodness?

No, the human factions are:
Brotherhood: Church
Commonwealth: Europe
Eisenkern: Germans
Protectorate: Soviet Union
Republic: America
Independent States: Criminals
Households: Little factions

I assume that the different Leviathans (i.e. Crusader and Mortis) come from different human factions, right? But still fieldable in the same army since they're both human?

Thanks for the cliff notes version, . And we are almost to the $40K stretch!! Free Capacitor Coolers

The Mortis and Crusader VR5's are both from Eisenkern. The Mortis was an early version with only melee weapons for main attacks.

The Crusader is a more recent invention.

Both are derived from technology salvaged from Shadokesh weapons of war.

I'm looking forward to the new factions, particularly the Shadokesh.

Got it! I have a feeling for starters, though, you'll see some "Mortis vs. Crusader" action

I agree making sure "mine are unique" is growingly important in this Hobby. Enough bits like on the expansion and some GS an you really could make a cool force... full of exciting poses.

I think a alternate head would be great. not just the officer caps but an alternate helm sprue... then you can really mix it up. maybe as a stretch goal.

Damn my girls gonna be pissed when she finds out I'm buying more model... I just got Zombicide and told he it would "last me for a bit" but I'll invest...

The "say it was preordered months ago, and combine it with flowers" idea above might work

Only just over 1K to go will we hit the first stretch! I am thinking we (in the states) will wake up to it having been hit

I will definitely be going the "flowers" route as well...

What thrills me is that I committed to a Crusader, and now Mark is throwing a free figure at me (the shadokesh) as well as cool tech-gribblies for my Crusader... when I was just thrilled to get the original model by itself for that price!

Shadokesh art is up:

All backers at the $20.00 level or above will receive an exclusive 28mm figure of a Feral Shadokesh and Handler, figure set.

The Shadokesh are the mortal enemies of the Eisenkern faction. Shadokesh have no conscience, no ability to empathize with the world around them, they only understand what they want or need and are oblivious to joy or suffering. Shodokesh possess an immense curiosity and a love for new experiences; they will twist the knife in your belly just to study the look on your face.

I'm from the future. The future of space

That fiction is a bit one dimensional to the point of sillyness. Atleast add in something about how they view their own people because a society of individualistic sociopaths is kind of lame.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I think it was just a teaser line, frozenwastes- not a complete background in just a few sentences

I love the look of them, and that's what's important to me . Although, I look forward to seeing more background in the future.

There's more detail on this here. I still think they're kind of lame - a sociopathic hive mind is pretty much a one trick pony. The Kraggen are the best of the three alien races in my opinion, due to having more depth than "Rar! Sociopathy!" or "Rar! Piracy!".

That was the point, to provide a few iconic stereotypes; you gravitate to the Jedi-like race others may prefer Evil or Greedy... If you don’t like those motivations, settle on a Human faction. I tried to add some depth and character to each but there is not a huge amount you can do with a single page of fluff...It is just a starting point to expand upon.

Feral Shadokesh are not mentioned in the fluff. But they have a story… These are members of society that through illness or damage can no longer communicate with the hive mind. They are ostracized for Shadokesh society to live like animals and are treated with distrust and disdain. Hunted for sport and forced into games of combat.

Doesn't sound bad to me for a single page. From seeing the Dropzone Commander rulebook, background is something that's hard to have expansive amounts of at the very beginning, particularly when it's a one man show doing it all!

Maybe after the Kickstarter Mark can have either some volunteers or hire someone to take the background to the next level

Hey Mark,

In regards to the Feral Shadokesh and Handler figure set is this going to be per pledge or per Leviathan or what? Just curious

Sidenote: $202 to my cool alternate backpack!
