Ada is near completion, just some hair details to add,
Enjoy!
Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?

Looking great! Is the gun going to have more detail added? At the moment it looks a little flat and uninspired, very unlike the rest of the miniature!

I think she looks good, but despite it matching the art I'd like a more detailed gun barrel (and maybe the gun body, too).
Also make sure the hair (I know it isn't done) doesn't blend into the cap!
But look great imo and points for the Star Wars quote.

The rifle is a magnetic linear accelerator (the barrel housing contains coils) so it should be rather plain as it is just a covering.
In game terms it’s a ‘Capacitor Rifle’ each shell is a highly charged capacitor with a ballistic tip coated in Nano fibers. The capacitor charge powers up the coils in the barrel and accelerates the projectile much faster than conventional solid or liquid combustibles. It will punch a small hole through very thick armor. A nasty rifle with a big kick, the Valkir use a similar weapon but they ware power armor and have considerably more mass to deal with the recoil. Ada has learned how to lean into the shot and lock her body into position, When the round is discharged she will remain standing but is driven back a foot or two.

Love the background for it... but it doesn't mean it can't have a racing pin-stripe or two (doesn't have to be that, obviously, but even a small surface detail added somewhere, perhaps around the end, could do a lot for it!)

Heh, I'm impressed by the depth of thought that went into the design, but if the interest is in realism, wouldn't a weapon such as you describe be either impossible/impractical to fire from the shoulder while standing? Actually, in fairness, even excluding the (immense) recoil, that gun is amazingly unbalanced, giving the appearance of having a huge amount of the weapon's mass beyond her resting hand. In order to balance such a weapon while standing, she would have to lean way back, not forward.
All that is by way of saying, perhaps in the interest of both sculptural spice and ergonomics, slap a bipod/monopod on there, so that it could be imagined being shot from a prone/kneeling position. This is in keeping with the real-life analogues, things like 50-calibur anti-material rifles... which are also (to the best of my knowledge) fired from a bipod and prone position.
Magnificent model, just an odd duck of a gun.

Right you are...
The stormtrooper armor is not power armor in the sense of a completely enclosed unit where each component is joined to the next, but they are ‘power assisted’, that muscular structure you see in the under suit is supposed to represent a synthetic muscle of sorts that encases the troopers in an under suit and allows the troopers to lift and carry much more weight than you or I. Using a ungainly weapon should not be an issue and the shock from heavy recoil would be mostly absorbed as the suit distributed the effect over a large area as the synthetic muscle momentarily stiffens to deal with the shock.

Using a ungainly weapon should not be an issue and the shock from heavy recoil would be mostly absorbed as the suit distributed the effect over a large area as the synthetic muscle momentarily stiffens to deal with the shock. Actually, it's a common cinematic misconception that "if only you were strong enough you could X", in this case, if only she were strong enough she could stand with that rifle at her shoulder. Similarly, if only she was strong enough, she could stand still when hit by the recoil. The problem is, of course, that it's nothing to do with strength, and everything to do with distribution of weight. Imagine, for example, she is not a human, but a statue made of some mysterious material 100 times as strong as human muscle, but the same weight. Could she hold that rifle at he shoulder standing upright? Of course not. Not because of strength, but because her center of gravity is way, way out in front of her. In order to counterbalance, she would have to put one foot under the rifle, extending it as far as she could while lowering herself on the other, shifting her center of gravity forward so she doesn't topple over by moving her body under the rifle. Could that work? It would be crazy awkward (and why, in reality, people use tripods/bipods/monopods and shoot from the prone position), but it might be possible. Unfortunately, the position she would have to be in to balance the rifle would be exactly opposite the position she would have to be in to not topple over from the recoil. Again, imagine she is totally rigid and arbitrarily strong: she fires a weapon that has a recoil strong enough to push her back several feet. The result? She falls flat on her back (presumably to the guffaws of soldier that know better then to try and fire an anti-tank weapon standing straight up). Why? Quite simple, at the moment the recoil hits her shoulders, her feet are engaged with the ground. The force of ground friction at her feet is moving forward, the force of recoil is moving back at her shoulder: even if we assume she is capable of becoming completely rigid, the only likely result is that she rotates around her waist and spins end over end. Could she possibly be in a position that satisfies both requirements? Yes, sorta. She could have one foot way in front, the other way in back... basically, she would have to be doing the splits. Personally, I think the bipod and the prone position would be more dignified, but... *shrug* EDIT: Just to point out, I'm not arguing solely for the sake of being a gun-nut/interest of physics, I really think that gun could benefit from some sort of mount on the end. It's kinda... sausage-like at the moment.

That's a great example of center-of-gravity/mass actually. Basically, Ada would have to be doing that with her legs (say, 130 degree angle?).
Remember though, I prefaced my comments with " if the interest is in realism"; if the interest isn't realism, then it's magic and shut-up that makes it work. It's a great model regardless (although, sausage), I'm just pointing out something that I think would work both from a sculptural and realistic POV.

And taking into account what Mark said about it just being a cover, the weight may not be as much toward the end of the barrel as people think. However, Mark, how about running a groove along the length of it either top and bottom or each side? At least that way it gives a little extra interest and shows a method of opening the cover up for maintenance. Whether you go top/bottom or sides depends on which is easier for you to mould.

Are Ada's arms going to be like the stormtroopers where the supporting hand is attached to the arm not the gun? If so I can live with the gun otherwise please add some sort of detail.
The reason I ask is because when doing a barrel swap, gun - barrel = easy, on the flip side hand - barrel = pain in the rear.

That's exactly what I was thinking... if her supporting left hand and arm are cast as their own piece (with the gun being attached to the trigger hand instead) then this will be an easy fix for anyone who wants to swap barrels
I hope that's possible, as I'm planning on using her as a sniper in my IG platoon (made up of stormtroopers ) so was thinking to put on a long and thinner barrel.

Maybe venting of some kind on her barrel? Coilguns IRL have heat issues don't they? Also maybe a scope or optic wouldn't be amiss. I really do get the sniper vibe off her. Also the ridiculous bad ass vibe. Holy crap how hard core do you have to be to regularly fire a weapon that's recoil kicks you back TWO FEET and that's only if you have a stable position, and the average person who uses it is not only larger then you but wears a full suit of power armor. That's Ava and possibly the Black Widows looking every single Valkir or power armored soldier right in the eye and not evening having to call them pussies.
Have I mentioned how happy I am to get legit female sci-fi troopers that look awesome in 28mm?

I agree about adding a scope. I think that would look great. Maybe some venting or something on the barrel would make it more interesting.
Are we going to get more information on the Black Widow squad before the survey goes out? I'd really like to know that will be included, what they will be armed with, etc. Will they all have those large anti-tank guns? Will any of them? Or will they have the standard rifles? It does call them tank hunters, so I'm curious about what will be included.

Amazon payments take 7 days after the KS to (try) and collect the money
After than KS take up to 14 more days (usually at least 7) to process it and take their cut before passing the remainder and the backer details on to the project creator
So it's going to be a couple of weeks before the survey process can start
(and that's assuming Mark or WGF has the software written, it's taking Reaper much longer than they thought, It took CMON longer than they thought and all they had to do was modifiy their program Zombicide program for Sedition Wars)
