Herein are my battle reports for a local WMHD league, using Maelok and his minions - those that bridge the land of the living and the land of the dead. The league begins at 15pts and unless noted otherwise, here is the list I will be using.

Maelok the Dreadbound
- Blackhide Wrastler
- Bull Snapper
Gatormen Posse ( full )

The league is scheduled for 8 games in both July and August, and then 5 games each in September and October - the list will definitely change each month as the points increase to 25, 35, and 50.

TFTC #01 versus Legion

pLylyth
- Carnivean
- Shredders ( 4 )
Forsaken

- Legion begins the game with all models making a full advance or running.
- Minions do the same with buffs on Maelok and the Posse.

- Lylyth opens turn two with her Feat and a pair of Bow shots that hit two Gatormen, then finishes with Parasite on the unit. Charges are declared and it takes three Shredders to eliminate one Gatorman model, the fourth Shredder leaves its Gatorman target unscathed. The Carnivean fails to reach its intended target but does manage to catch Maelok with its assault spray, scoring some damage.
- Maelok revives the fallen Gatorman then uses his Feat. Four of the Posse models, enhanced with the Cold Blood Prayer, are able to charge Lylyth - and after transfers and damage inflicted the game ends.

Thanks for a good game, Jim !

TFTC #02 versus Trollbloods

eDoomshaper
- Mulg the Ancient
- Dire Troll Mauler

- Minions start the game, advances and buffs all around.
- Trollbloods equally so.

- Maelok uses his Feat on the second turn and charges Mauler. The Wrastler charges Mulg. Posse charges and finishes off both beasts. The Bull Snapper gives an armor buff to Maelok for added protection.
- Doomshaper bleeds to fill fury count then checks his control area (ooops on my behalf). Begins the turn using his Feat, and charges Maelok - but ARM21 and a single transfer is enough to take the game to turn three.

- Upkeep Malediction on Maelok, and finishes the game with boosted damage rolls on each of his three initial attacks.

Thanks for a good game, David !

TFTC #03 versus Circle

Mohsar
- Warpwolf Stalker
- Gorax
Gallows Grove
Tharn Bloodtrackers ( min )

- Circle opts for first turn. Trackers declare Maelok as their Prey. Models advance or run.
- Death Pact on the Posse, Malediction on Maelok, Spiny Growth on the Blackhide, and models advance.

- Bloodtrackers are hit-or-miss but manage to eliminate one Gatorman model. Mohsar spends all Fury on Pillars Of Salt plus Curse Of Shadows on the Gatormen unit via Gallows Grove. Stalker and Gorax advance using the Pillars to their advantage.
- Maelok drops both upkeep spells, charges and kills his own Gatorman model, invokes the Spirit World, then Revive twice to bring back both Gatormen models - now with LOS to Mohsar. The Posse charges with the Cold Blood Prayer, the two revived models straight at Mohsar - and with two hits the game ends.

Thanks for a good game, Ryan !

TFTC #04 versus Legion

pLylyth
- Carnivean
- Shredder
- Harriers ( 2 )
Sheppard
Totem Hunter

- Minions with the first turn = standard open: Posse run with Mist Prayer, Blackhide riles once and runs, Snapper advances with Spiny Growth on the Wrastler, then Maelok advances with Death Pact on the Gatormen and Malediction.
- Totem Hunter declares the Bull Snapper as its Prey at the start, and runs first turn. Both Harriers run, Carnivean advances with Spiny Growth, Lylyth advances, then Sheppard and Shredder advance with Tenacity on Lylyth.

- Upkeeps on Death Pact and Malediction. Posse declare charges with three of them on the Carnivean and one on each of the Harriers, but the results are poor at best even with the Cold Blood Prayer. Maelok advances as does the Bull Snapper with Spiny Growth on Maelok. The Blackhide Wrastler positions to deny charge labes for the Totem Hunter.
- Lylyth on her Feat turn slightly more effective than my previous turn. The Carnivean manages to eliminate two Gatormen models, with one unscratched and the other two in a gimp battle with the Harriers. Shredder again with Tenacity on Lylyth, and then the Totem Hunter advances.

- No upkeeps on Maelok's Feat turn, casts Revive twice then game ends with three of the Gatormen being able to do enough damage on their charge against Lylyth ( good fortune on the die rolls with the Cold Blood Prayer ).

thanks for a good game, Moe !

TFTC #05 versus Menoth

pKreoss
- Reckoner
- Vanquisher
Vassal
Choir

- Minions with the first turn, standard opening buffs / advances / runs.
- Sadly, even years later I have a difficult time keeping track of everything Menoth does in a single turn. So, the short story = things get buffed and move.

- Upkeeps on Death Pact and Malediction. Both the Gatormen Posse and Blackhide Wrastler advance. The Bull Snapper and Maelok not so much, being mindful of the opposing Feat and Lamentation.
- Vassal and Choir do their thing, Reckoner fires at the Posse killing one and setting two others on fire, Vanquisher fails to connect on the Blackhide, and Kreoss finishes the turn using his Feat - knocking down the Blackhide and the four remaing Gatormen.

- No upkeeps this time as Maelok holds on to all six Fury points, charges / eliminates one of the knocked down Gatorman. Casts Revive twice, and then uses Spirit World. The Blackhide Wrastler forfeits his movement to stand up, and then uses his Animus three times on the other three Gatormen. The unit declares charges with the Cold Blood Prayer, of which three are able to reach Kreoss and end the game after three hits.

thanks for a good game, John !

TFTC #06 versus Trollbloods

eDoomshaper
- Mulg the Ancient
- Troll Axer
Janissa Stonetide

- Minions with the first turn, models move forward with the standard buffs.
- Trollbloods open in the same manner.

- And this is why it is important to know what your opponent's models can do (never played against Janissa before and I completely blanked on the Axer Animus). Minions take position for a next turn assault.
- Janissa advances and shifts two Gatormen, opening a charge lane. Axer with Animus on Mulg. Doomshaper uses his Feat. Then Mulg (Wild Aggression) charges / kills a Gatorman model, is then forced to use additional movement bringing Mulg within threat range of Maelok, and forced again to buy additional attacks - but Maelok survives...for a moment. Learned something else new = Mulg gets to make an additional attack against his still living target, and thats the one that ends the game.

Thanks for a good game, Scott !

TFTC #07 versus Minions ( Thornfall )

Lord Carver
- War Hog
- War Hog
- Gun Boar

- Gators with the first turn, standard buffs and advancements.
- Hogs respond just the same.

- Posse declare charges on turn two with three models at Lord Carver and one each at the two War Hogs, however BDTH and transfers are enough to keep Carver alive and the War Hogs barely injured. The Blackhide holds the backfield while the Bull Snapper casts Spiny Growth on Maelok.
- The two War Hogs are able to eliminate all of the Gatormen models, thus opening up a charge lane for Carver - who feats and with Mobility is able to reach Maelok...but rolls trip1s on the boosted attack roll = Carver eventually taps out on Fury trying to get the job done, however Maelok survives the attacks.

- With an upkeep on Malediction it takes only three normal attacks with boosted damage rolls for Maelok to end the game.

Bloody Barnabas
- Blackhide Wrastler
- Bull Snapper
Gatormen Posse unit ( full )

- Barnabas has the first turn, models advance with Spiny Growth on the Wrastler and Iron Fleash on the Posse.
- Check control range to open, getting an idea of safe distances with Gatormen in general for the advantages of undead over living. Posse advances, Wrastler runs, Maelok advances with Death Pact on the Gatormen and Malediction on himself. Then the Bull Snapper advances and uses Spiny Growth on the Blackhide.

- Opposing models reposition, with buffs where needed and using some terrain to their advantage.
- The Blackhide charges / kills one friendly Gatorman model which sets up a Revive situation for Maelok. Bull Snapper advances with Spiny Growth on Maelok. Charges declared by the Posse result in eliminating two Gatormen models.

- Opposition changing positions again, Posse charging Posse where possible but only cuts through two models.
- Maelok on his Feat turn sets up an assassination run with two Revived models, the unit charges Barnabas with the Cold Blood prayer and ends the game after their activation.

pLylyth

Sheppard
Totem Hunter

- Legion with the first turn, most models simply advancing. Tenacity on Lykyth and Spiny Growth on Carnivean.
- Standard open for Minions but with Spiny Growth this time on Maelok.

- Legion a little too aggressive on their second turn, and a miscalculation on charge distances = Harriers fail to engage their Gatormen targets, and the Carnivean falls short of the Blackhide Wrastler but does manage to catch it, Maelok, and a Gatorman with its spray ( minimal damage ).
- Posse declare charges on the Shredder and both Harriers, all targets eliminated. The Blackhide charges the Carnivean and softens it enough for Maelok to charge next and destroy it - reave its Fury, then use it to cast a boosted Venom spray at the Sheppard ( destroyed ). Bulk Snapper advances with Spiny Growth on Maelok.

- Lylyth bleeds to fill her Fury count and buys herself some time using Bushwhack and terrain to her advantage - takes down a Gatirman in the process.
- Two Gatormen are able to charge her, but only leave her wounded. Maelok advances and catches Lylyth with a boosted attack / damage roll for Venom to end the game.

TFTC #10 versus Khador

Old Witch & Scrapjack
- Destroyet
Widowmakers
Widowmaker Marksman
Yuri the Axe

- Khador takes the first turn, but very little activity other than models advancing.
- Standard open movements and buffs for Minions, with Spiny Growth on Maelok plus Malediction and Death Pact on the Gatormen Posse.

- Destroyer drops a cannon shot on one of the Gatorman models but is unable to eliminate it. The Wudowmakers and Marksman settle on single wounds against the Gatormen models they are able to reach and it. Yuri charges another member of the Posse but only leaves it wounded. The Old Witch finishes the turn by placing her cloud effect.
- The Blackhide charges one Gatorman model as does the Bull Snapper another, both targets eliminated. Maelok on his Feat turn casts Revive twice to return the two models with just barely enough room outside the edge of the cloud. Posse declare charges, the two revived straight at the Old Witch and eliminate her.

Nice turn-out for the tournament today (15pts) with 18 players and a wide mix of factions.

TFTC #s 11 12 13 14

Round 01 vs Retribution (Kaelyssa)
- fast forward to top of turn three, Gatormen Posse set up an assassination run on Maelok's feat turn = two Gatormen cut through her defense with Cold Blood to finish the game.

Round 02 vs Cygnar (eCaine)
- failed command for the Arcane Tempest Gun Mages (terror from Posse) helped on top of turn two. Caine comes out blazing on the responding turn but Maelok survives with four boxes after damage and transfers. Top turn three Bull Snapper slams Squire into Caine, then Maelok steps up to finish the game with two Venoms sprays with boosted damage on each.

Round 03 vs Minions (Maelok)
- opponent's second list was identical to mine, resulting in a very reduntant game relying on who had the better die rolls - my opponent had enough better rolls than I to finish the game.

Round 04 vs Circle (eKaya)
- wave after wave of revived Gatormen just couldn't score enough damage to have any influence on the game - not a single model destroyed. Fast forward = Laris advances on Maelok, then Kaya teleports in to finish the game with boosted / flank attacks.

Thanks going out to Joel, Nate, Brian, and Chris for the games !

A second look at the league roster reveals a total now of 35 players.
Whoa...didn't realize it grew that much in the last month ! And now for the league the standard scenarios from the core rulebooks are being used - managed to squeeze one game in to kick off the next point level.

TFTC #15 versus Circle = Throw Down

Maelok the Dreadbound
- Blackhide Wrastler

Gatormen Posse ( full unit )
Gatormen Posse ( full unit )
Swamp Gobber Belows Crew

eKaya & Laris
- Warpwolf Stalker
- Gnarlhorn Satyr
Tharn Wolf Riders ( full unit )

...skipping over to my opponent's second turn - the Wolf Riders put on a display of destructive dice rolling as they eliminate a unit ( prey ) of Gatormen, three of them getting dropped on just the javelin throws alone ( facepalm )... fast forward to my turn four - Kaya leaves herself open on the previous turn when arcing Muzzle on the Blackhide Wrastler, who follows up with performing a 2H throw = Maelok towards Kaya = and Animus to stand the Warlock up. Maelok ( upkeep on Malediction ) on his feat turn charges Kaya but unfortunately leaves her with one wound remaining... Laris runs into flank position, and Kaya finishes the game with three attacks.

eKaya & Laris

War Wolf

Scenario: Assassination... Circle begins the game with the first turn...

...on the top of turn two, Thrullg pretty much has the Druid unit neutralized. Warpwolves try to be more offensive though on Kaya's feat turn but fall short on the charge (feral) and spray (pureblood) has little effect.

...and at the bottom of the turn the Gatormen Posse eliminates the unit...

...turn three brings with it a more aggressive approach by Circle, with the Feral opening up a lane for Laris to run through. Kaya then teleports in and attempts to eliminate Maelok but fails...

...Pendrake and the Boneswarm both step aside to allow the Wrastler to make a Slam power attack against Maelok, resulting in some damage but more importantly knocking Kaya down. The Wrastler then finishes the activation by using its Animus to stand Maelok up. Maelok then ends the game with two boosted damage rolls against Kaya.

Doom Reavers with Grey Lord

Fenris

Scenario: Assassination... Match ups like these have been going on for quite some time - my opponent, a good friend and worthy adversary, always brings an "A" game regardless of the list he brings...

...a south-west view of the table after the first turn. This would be the start of an attrition war, as turn-by-turn waves of Reavers are sent forward and revived Gators hold the line...

...things slowly began to turn in favor of Khador, and the Butcher let his presence be known - that, and another wave of Reavers charge their targets. The only thing that remained was the Gatorman leader and a bloodied Maelok - one last chance at victory...

...Maelok delivers three unboosted attacks to Butcher scoring a few scratches, then spends six fury to revive two Gatormen - the three models then charge the Butcher, leaving him with three wounds remaining. Butcher follows up on the next turn with a low focus count and fails to finish off Maelok, however a single Reaver was able to step up to the plate and finish the game.

Minion units / models trying to advance up the middle and left side of the table - Warbeasts being the primary targets of all of the Cygnar shooting, with the Blackhide Wrastler being the primary pincushion...

...one unit of Gun Mages w Officer continue to soften the Warbeasts, along with the Warjacks. Caine feats in an effort to stop the advancing gators, then teleports out of harm's way. Meanwhile the other unit of Gun Mages direct their attention on the gators as well. Not in the pic is the Captain, who takes aim at the Blackhide Wrastler and with combined efforts takes the beast down to only three points of Spirit remaining.

The Cygnar efforts are short of destructive however, and the Gatormen Posse are able to charge one of the Gun Mage units...

...Cygnar follows up with a destructive round of shooting, eliminating all three Warbeasts and inflicting damage on both Maelok and the Posse - two of the models left with one wound only.

Maelok opens the turn by charging one of the damaged Gatormen and attacking the other - destroying both targets. Then Maelok reives both of them and uses his feat. This sets up an assassination run for the Posse straight at Caine, and end the game after three attacks.

Starcrossed and Cold Blood made this matchup interesting, that and units on both sides of the table having tough - certainly not a fast pace game for either of us, but fun nonetheless.

A string of die-rolls eventually swung the tempo in favor of the Minions, with them eliminating their targets and their targets unable to make tough rolls...

During his activation he advances, casts Revive twice, then uses his Feat. With both sides looking to get the first charge, Harbinger uses her feat at the top of turn two. But weighing the pros and cons, both Gatormen Posse units declare charges on the two units of Bastions. The gators were dealt some damage after their movement, but the Bastions suffered even more so - some were destroyed, some were wrap-around damaged, and a few others were martyred.

Bastions would serve their own return justice however, and while a few gators were destroyed others were kept in play ftom tough rolls via the Witch Doctors. Reckoner in the meantime seemed to have some difficulties with the Boneswarms.

With the Harbinger well damaged from the Martyr ability, I wanted to wanted to try the "skarre-bomb" approach to finish off the Warcaster - she only suffered two damage, and this could have been a bad idea. The idea was to revive two other gators from the second unit, to have three models charge Harbinger. But then I remembered the anti-living effect she has.

So instead, Maelok activates and revives one model. Then uses his feat and casts Death Pact on the unit. The unit charges Harbinger with the Cold Blood prayer, and ends the game after two hits.

Even the Boneswarms were able to jump in the mix - collecting three corpse tokens between the two of them courtesy of the Press Gangers. Maelok casts multiple revive spells to fill in the gaps where needed, and eliminate the Exemplar Knight models. Boneswarms help reduce the melee effectiveness of some models using their Animus.

On an unfortunate note, the game tapped into the store's business hours, so we had to take this to a dice down resolve. In which case my opponent had scored mode destruction points than I. Certainly looking forward to a rematch though :-)

Thanks for a good game, Ryan !

Thanks for the recaps Toxic, and nice work all told. Really dig Maelok's tier and those double boneswarms - hell, never seen them run at all before

Thanks for following ! And yeah, the Boneswarms never really caught my eye before other than simply the sculpt = it wasn't until I put them on the table that I realized how beneficial they can be. At mid to late game they have been able to interefere with living enemy models that find themselves with proximity of the Animus, and even collected a few corpse tokens along the way. And for Maelok the Animus is a nice buff, especially when coupled with Death Pact = only would be assassins @ MAT9 are hitting on average, then need to cut through ARM19...and possibly Tough from a Witch Doctor.

Battle Reports from the 25pt league tournament, four rounds with two games using Maelok and two games using Calaban...

TFTC #26

Round 01 versus Highborn Covenant ( Ashlynn D'Elyse )

...fast forward to the top of my turn three, where Ashlynn positioned herself tightly between two units. After clearing a narrow LOS lane with one unit of Gatormen, both Witch Doctors were able to step up and deliver two sac-strikes on Ashlynn to end the game...

Thanks for a good game, Thong !

Round 02 versus Khador - Calaban and Karchev

...a complete bloody mess from start to finish, and a great game as well that finally ended with time being called = the end result gave Khador the victory by having more control points. Thanks again MouseC for an awesome battle !

TFTC #27

Round 03 versus Legion ( Saeryn )

...another game that ended on dice down, in this one where the center of the table was the control area. Neither side could control the area so the result came down to points earned for destruction = victory for Minions... though not sure which unit / model to give credit to: guessing the Boneswarm since it stayed nearest to center throughout the game.

Thanks for a good game, Jordan !

Round 04 versus Walking Death - Calaban and Maelok

...Calaban on the strong offensive turn three, looking for support and going solo to wipeout one whole unit of gators - fails with a final Hex Blast and sits on one Fury. Melok replies with a Witch Doctor sac-striking the last gatormen and doing doing damage to Calaban...followed by the Swamp Horror charging and a revived gatormen from the second unit to end the game. Thanks, James !

So with a quick update on the league first, three dozen players going through the 25 point level and standings end with four players tied for first place = three gator players ( two others with Barnabas and myself with Maelok ) and one Khador player - my friend MouseC.

And now for my first game to start the 35 point level ( and note, the PoS marker is the BC's Shallow Water )...

...fast forward through the first two turns of Gators running forward at two sets of gunlines and a pair of Mules = two Posse units protected by Zombify, and the third with Death Pact maintained on it. A good round of shooting on the top of turn three leaves one unit with only the leader remaining, but this would set up an assassination run after Damiano advances at the end of the turn. Maelok drops both upkeeps ( Death Pact and Malediction ) at the bottom of turn three, casts Revive twice on two of the fallen Gatormen models, and then Feats. The Gatormen Posse is then able to charge Damiano with two of the models, and with the Cold Blood prayer end the game on three hits...

...I want to open first by saying that one thing about league play that I like, is watching players improve their game - for this, I played a little more cautious this time around ( having played this opponent before and knowing their skill level has bumped over the last few weeks )...

...fast forward a few turns into the game, during which I was less concerned with throwing around Fury on revived Gators. My approach was more focused, with the intent that I wanted to neutralize key targets before setting up an assassination run = the Druids were first on my list, and second were Laris and the Pureblood. I did not want these two to have free-range of the table - Laris went down rather easily, but the Pureblood not so quite. Attention was shifted over to the other two Warbeasts after I felt comfortable enough that the Pureblood was held in check...

...Maelok on his Feat turn was finally able to get models into a more offensive position, ending the turn with the Pureblood ( Feral proxy in image ) badly bloodied & bruised and Kaya engaged by three Posse members, plus the Witch Doctors and Boneswarms ( one with Swarm adjacent to Pureblood ) ready to interact next turn. But my opponent sized up the situation, and rather than play it out offered a handshake, and "good game" which is something I am not used to seeing - but here in this case, I kinda get it...

...with boosted attack / damage rolls, the Reckoner crashes into the Avatar ... damage roll @ minus 11 with S8 versus ARM19 but I roll 5, 6, 6, 6 doing 12 points of damage...

Tried to threaten her with the Totem Hunter while the Posse moved into melee range of the Sentinels and Strike Force - hoping Death Pact / Unyielding + Zombify would keep them on the table (helped that opposing units were relatively close together) - the plan worked for the most part, losing only two Gatormen due to a few unengaged Sentinels charging...following turn tried to have Snapjaw power attack: push the Wrastler into charge range of Kaelyssa but failed the strength test, sooo resort to the norm = Maelok revives the two dead Gatormen and Feats, then the Posse charges Kaelyssa to end the game.

Snapjaw and the Posse were able to eliminate both Ghetorix and the Stalker, while the Croak Hunter and Witch Doctor slipped safely into the scoring zones. ...fortunately I had the first turn and anticipating her Feat turn I positioned both Posse units in a spread formation hoping to block my Warbeasts after a first wave / second wave assault. Sure enough, Denny feats on the bottom of turn two, but after all other units had activated - those that did had very little impact through bad attack rolls and / or tough rolls. Only two gatormen fell and I spent turn three essentialy stalled, with the exception of reviving the two Posse members and having them eliminate four Bane Thralls. Cryx had a more offensive bottom of turn three but Denny opted to not become Incorporeal and finished her activation in potentially risky area on the table. The Wraith Engine charged the Leader of a Posse (last model left in unit) but failed on the attack roll...

...next turn, Maelok revives two of the Posse members from the Leader and uses his feat before ending his activation. The Blackhide Wrastler slips through the linesand performs a succesful Death Roll attack on Deneghra, with follow up attacks she gets reduced to only two wounds remaining. The Posse unit activates next, and all it takes is one of the Gatirmen to take a bite out of her to end the

Two turns were spent reviving gatormen just to soften the opposing infantry units and keep them from making ranged attacks. Unfortunately they were getting weathered over time, and soon one flank got crushed -allowing the Stormfall Archers a late game opportunity to take shots at Maelok who was tapped out on Fury...thankfully, one of the Archers was out of range and Maelok survives the turn with seven wounds remaining...

...the next turn opens with a control range check (Maelok is goona need a few more inches for this to work). Bull Snapper advances and ends activation, Maelok then charges the Bull Snapper - revives two Gatormen Posse members - then uses his Feat. The Blackhide Wrastler activates next and does a Power Attack Slam on the Hydra, causing it to knock Kaelyssa down for being in its slam path. ...the battle of attrition between Gators versus Gators stayed in my favor, until Molik Kharn and the Bronzeback Titan were thrown into the mix on Makeda's feat turn = sidesteps and beatbacks eliminated one full unit of my Posse and dropped the second unit down to models, and one of the Witch Doctors was also destroyed. Maelok's responding feat turn brought two dead Gatormen back to the table - the unit along with assistance from the Warbeasts put an end to the Bronzeback Titan and Molik Karn, but I ended the turn with Wrong Eye in a bad position.. he fell victim to three Posse members on the next turn (removing Snapjaw and the Spitter as a result). The turn ends with the Titan Gladiator charging Maelok, but not before taking a free strike from the Blackhide = the Titan loses its Body as a result...that, and Maelok with Swarm plus his Feat sends the game into another turn. Both the Boneswarm and the Bull Snapper charge the Titan (proximity of Malediction) and do a reasonable amount of damage to it. Then Maelok activates and destroys the Warbeast, finishing his activation by reviving one Posse member - it is then Sac Striked to eliminate an opposing Posse member - which in return opened a charge lane for the Blackhide straight at eMakeda (taking a free strike from a Posse member, scoring minimal damage). Makeda gets Death Rolled, and two hits end the game...

50pt Tournament at Outside The Box - three rounds with two using Maelok and one using Calaban. Odd day with some uncharecteristic behaviors and improper pairings. A conversation following the first round openened up a topic that included "several players" complaining about my playstyle and non-use of tokens during the regular season according to the Press Ganger - none of those alleged players were present at the event, and my non-use of tokens is offset by me clearly marking all spells / effects on the proper cards. The mis-pairings were the result if the Press Ganger leaving the store to get food between rounds, and because of time restraints the LGS owner handled the pairings by winging it. I can say the PG is a friend of mine and I respect him as a player, but I do question his role as a Press Ganger for the local gaming community = based on other discussions, and throwing around too many "I'm the Press Ganger" bragging...for lack of a better word ?

Nonetheless, and all of that aside, if I am playing then I am having a good time... so here are the results for the day.

Paladin of the Order of Wall

...once more, Menoth is just one of those armies where I get lost in even of their simplest of buffs. But regadless, it was all of the knockdown effects and models being set ablaze that were troublesome from the start - that and Quick Work helped dismantle my infantry. Any sign of an offensive on my behalf was quickly shutdown by the Repenter - left unchecked for one turn allowed it to spray Wrong Eye leaving only a pile of ashes, thus removing Snapjaw. Meanwhile, the Ironback Spitter met his demise at the hands of the Templar. Desperation kicks in mid to late game, with Maelok's effectiveness getting effected by Lamentation - that and careful placement of defending models plus magic weapons in proximity didn't make things any easier. With final hopes of casting Venom on Kreoss, boosting attack / damage rolls plus the Corrosion effect to end the game, Maelok advances with fingers crossed... but the reality kicks in, and things don't go as hoped :-( the Honor Guard steps forward after on the next turn and sends Maelok back to the grave after being damaged by Errants first...

Thanks for a good game, David !

You should update your signature with your impressive Hordes : Minions Win - Loss record.

Your side is always the "will of the people" the other side is always fundamentalist, extremist, hatemongers, racists, anti- semitic nazies with questionable education and more questionable hygiene. American politics 101.

Borrowed from the Privateer Press forums, as posted by my friend MouseC and my response...

MouseC wrote:Your slacking! And I know your not going to toot your own horn. I played in the same league with Toxic. He had an excellent showing over 4 months and won the league!

1st~ Toxic, Maelok
2nd~ Circle, pBaldur
3rd~ Menoth, pKreoss
4th~ Khador, eButcher

From memory of the roster, there were a total of 38 scoring players, IE players who played past the first month. Lots of different factions and such. I do not want to post the exact listing as it has lots of people's names attached. It did not have people's overall win records, just points accumalated. Players earned points for win / loss, painted models (at least 10).

I'm posting this as Toxic is a very humble, honest person, and I wanted to give credit where its due. He did fantastic, and helped lots of newer gamers get acclimated, as well encourage folks to attend local steam rollers. We have quite the local community still playing outside the league if anyone is interested in heading to South Jersey~ Outside the Box. Our next league is January for anyone interested.

Happy gaming, happy dice rolling!

Thanks, MouseC !..and yes humbled by your words. Lots of good times and great games :-) also Mike pointed something out about the underlying WIP of these battle reports, something I hadn't noticed really until reading through these batreps while homebound during Sandy's arrival last Monday = on that note, I was highly impressed with not only the number of fully painted armies during the league but also the quality: I cannot recall even the slightest bare metal on any models once we hit the 50pt level.

Once more, good times and great games ! Thanks for the congratz, and kudos to all those that participated. And lastly, thanks to Mike D and Outside The Box for hosting the event !

Now looking forward to next session starting in January, this time it looks like Phinneus Shae will be making an appearance on the table :-)
