I dont have my rulebook with me, so I have a quick question.
if you have an independent character with either of those rules, does any unit he join get it as well? or does he lose those rules?
If i remember correctly he loses it, same as eternal warrior. but i dont remember

so if i had a character with FnP, I could fail an armor save, fail FnP, and then LoS it to someone else?

It entirely depends on the saves of the unit. Look up LoS and mixed save units.

You dont lose EW if you join a unit without EW. The rule never says that....

You roll LOS! when wounds are *allocated*, so in mixed saves units this is *before* you roll Armour / Inv / COver saves. Given this HAS to be before FNP, no you do not get to try LOS! after rolling FNP

Where on earth did you get the idea that a character loses Eternal Warrior for joining a unit without it?

I'm not sure.... Maybe I was thinking about some other special rule. Haha not thinking on my part, sorry
