A pretty simple suggestion really: allow Attack Bikes to upgrade their Heavy Bolter to Assault Cannons, Plasma Cannons and other heavy weapons. I don't see why they can't already. Points according to weapon of course.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

I could see adding a Heavy Flamer, but not so much on Plasma Cannons or Assault Cannons.

^^ What he said ^^

Heavy Flamers would be pretty useful, but no to Plasma/Las/Ass. A short-ranged variant of the Autocannon might be suitable as well, such as R12"-18" S7 Ap4 Heavy 2, the shorter range representing a lighter variant of the weapon used on the bike chassis.

Heavy Flamer I don't think would be quite useful fluffwise. All you do is make flames and then drvie through them.

I don't think Las/Plas/Ass really suits an Attack bike. Nor a mine autocannon.

Think about the flamer like this, you do a drive by attack, firing the flamer to the unit as you drive along side it, dousing them in fire.

But yeah, I don't really seeing an attack bike taking any weaponry heavier than what is available on a land speeder. Maybe give it an Assault Cannon variant and a Grenade/Missile Launcher variant. For the grenade launcher, maybe something like:

Assault Bike Frag Launcher

I could see it having an assault cannon varient, If a Terminator can manhandle one why not an attack bike, It's a better projectile weapon than a heavy bolter for shooting at things other than just infantry and has a bit more versatility then the Multimelta that I tend to equip all my attack bikes with at the moment. But I have to agree and say no to Lascannons and Plasma.

A Heavy flamer might work, but I would just as soon spend 5 points and upgrade a bike marine to have a regular flamer, cheaper and still effective.

If not for the mediocre who would be great, and thank goodness for those who are just terrible they make even those who are mediocre look great

Common sense does not equal game play. My friend has often argued for heavy weapon upgrades on his terminators. If you can carry an assault cannon, why not a lascannon or plasma cannon? Just because, dang it!

Personally, I think both the assault cannon and heavy flamer would be suitable on heavy bikes.

My assumption has always been that Terminator armor simply can't generate enough power for a LC or PC, but generating energy to power kinetic force is something else. Then again, I know nothing about fluff.

I out with in both 40k and WHFB.

Would be reasonable, sure a Terminator can man handle some heavy weapons that basically power themselves, so an attack bike could easily do the same thing, all you have to be concerned with is protecting the promethium gas and it's easy enough to stash a box of cannon rounds in the same place they keep the belt feeds for the heavy bolter.
